Chapter 6

Jane

My alarm went off but I was still in bed, thinking about what happened yesterday. My thoughts was interrupted by a soft knock on the door.

" Sebastian" I called out, alarmed.

"Can I come in?" he whispered.

"No!" I sat up quickly thinking about my messy hair, unwashed face not to mention my morning breath. "Give me five minutes"

I scurried off into the bathroom, brushing my teeth quickly fluff my hair and splash some water on my face. I paused when I saw my reflection in the mirror. Something about me was different, my eyes seems brighter.

"Jane" he called again

I cracked the door a notch. Using the door as a shield, I peeked out, searchingly looking at his face. Butterflies swirled in my stomach at the sight of him.

He was smiling, his dark eyes lit up when he saw me. Even with is bed rumpled hair and sleep lines printed on his cheeks, he still look handsome.

"Do you sleep naked? Is that why you took so long?"

I blushed

His eyes gleamed and gave away what he was thinking.

I opened the door so he could come in.

I noticed he was carrying a tray of food. there was a plate of half fried bacon with scrambled eggs and burnt toast. A glass of orange juice and a rose on the side.

My eyes flicked up and met his when he cleared his throat. I realize I had been staring at the food for a while.

" I made you scrambled eggs and toast but I messed it up a bit" he smiled

Was he blushing?

He looked so adorable, I had the urge to kiss him again, but I held my composure.

Who was I becoming, was this really me.

He set the tray down on a small round table beside the bed, and drew back the curtain. the sunlight streamed in and light up the room.

Even though the breakfast wasn't done properly, the fact that he made it, made everything perfect.

His actions made it easy to give in to him, to let myself fall for him, but what would happen when he got tired of me? ' for the first I quickly rejected all those negative thoughts and decided to embrace the moment, the now and not to think about the when and what ifs.

I felt myself softening. He didn't cook, but he did it for me.

Oh, God

This man, what is he doing to me?

My emotions were getting stronger, I started to feel weary and defensive. But most of all vulnerable. I took a step back and sat on the bed.

"Thanks for the rose" I bit my lip, trying hard to hide the smile

"You're welcome"

I grabbed my fork , took up a toast and placed it in my mouth. I chewed slowly.

CRUNCH

"um" I mumbled , my teeth could hardly bite through the toast.

I looked up at him and he hung his head and apologize.

The look he had in his eyes made me feel sorry for him, especially the fact that I knew he tried.

Grabbing his head, I planted a kiss on his lips.

We both froze.

Did I just do that? I asked myself with my lips still planted on his.

I pulled away, but his hands held my face, trapping me.

His kiss was different, it wasn't the same.

It was better. Way better.

soft lifts, gentle bites.

His lips taste so good.

"Are we together now? He asked still cupping my face

Panic was climbing fast in my chest, I felt suffocated. Why would he ask me that?

This was too much , too soon and too fast.

"No" I answered leaning away. His hands fell from my face. I stood up, stepping out of reach. "I'm not ready"

"ok" he said sadly, scrubbing his face with his hand. "Are you with someone else? is that why?"

"No, gosh no" I looked at him so he could see my honesty. "I'm just not ready to be with anyone"

"What was yesterday about then? I mean that kiss?"

I kept silent

"You kissed me just now too" he pointed out

His tone wasn't playful anymore.

"Sebastian" I said softly, He was now in front of me.

close

very close

His breath fanned my face, he held my waist and pulled me in tightly, he lowered his head. He kissed my bottom lip lightly , biting and pulling it until I gasped.

I closed my eyes wanting more, I could feel myself leaning in.

I wanted more.

I leaned in. pleasure and desire flowed in my system as his lips continued to caress mine, his tongue darting out to play with mine.

His tongue traced the seam of my lips and a moan escaped from my throat.

"The way you kiss me, tells me you want me" Then he pulled away and was ready to walk out.

I grabbed at his arm, My heart was beating fast.

His eyes blazed and looked at me. It showed that he wanted me. He was all in.

Panic was building in my chest once more. I stood there speechless.

He closed his eyes, lowered his head and gripped the back of his neck.

"I'm sorry" he said softly. I just want it all with you and I am... he stopped. he released my hand and left my room.

My heart felt heavy, I wanted him to come back, wanted him to hold me. I was falling,.... falling quickly and there was no safety net, he was taking it away.

Was I willing to risk everything. I wanted to.

I walked out the room. He was sitting on the sofa.

"Sebastian" I called softly.

He looked up at me puzzled.

I took a deep breath

"Can we take it slow?" I asked after a moment.

He grinned, nodding. "Lets do that. How about you get ready and I take you to get some real breakfast"

We both laughed.

"Okay"

I realized he got what he wanted in the end.

We smiled all the way to the Diner . Stealing glances at each other.

Just then he pulled into the parking lot of the Diner. He came around and open my door. I stepped out and he closed the door behind me. He walked beside me towards the diner as if he was being territorial.

The delicious smells wafted pass my nose and my stomach growled.

I held my tummy, did he just hear that.

I looked at him to see if he had noticed. Thankfully he didn't.

We went to a table and sat across from each other. Then a waitress came and took our order

I was impressed

" Great place right" he said enthusiastically. " This is my favorite place to come, the food here is delicious"

I looked into his eyes

"Yes" I answered. Funny how this man made me feel so safe, I didn't feel this way with Chris. Just the thought of him made me uncomfortable.

"Are you okay?" He asked

"Yes I am" I smiled

The waitress came with our order.

I took a sip of my coffee. The warm liquid slip down my throat relaxing me almost instantly. I ordered blueberry pancake with scrambled eggs and he ordered a grill cheese egg sandwich.

The pancake was just right, not too soft, not too hard. The eggs were perfect, they weren't salty like Sebastian's one this morning.

On a full stomach about 45 minutes later, I was feeling quite full and relaxed and I placed my foot beside his under the table. His eyes twinkled and he smiled. He then held my hand, caressing my palm gently.

"Mmmm" I purred

Our eyes met, His eyes flashed a desperate desire to sit with me, His arms stretched across the table and held my hand.

"Maybe we should go home now"

"Do we have to?" I check my watch, knowing he has work to do at the shop today.

His hands rubbed my hand " you're really beautiful , you know that?" He smiled Come on. Lets go.

I waited for him by the door, while he paid at the register and left a tip.

I heard someone Called to him.

"Hey, Bugs!' She exclaimed wrapping her arms around him.

"Bugs" I glared

" Ashely!" He said in a surprising tone but his Jaw clenched and eyebrows raised.

She let go of him but kept his hands on his biceps

Was she squeezing them? I bet she was

Who was she?

They seem to have know each other for along time.

She had blonde hair that was poker-straight and pulled back into a low pony tail. She wore light make-up. She was skinny and very beautiful.

I saw her flicked her hair to one side, I looked. Dangling from her perfect lobes were diamonds in white gold. They were exquisite, accentuating the length of her neck. I realize I held my gaze too long.

How could I compete with all that. The softness of her curves.

She was a goddess of the sun.

Who was she to him.

They were there for about five minutes, then he walked over to me and said, Lets go. And for the entire duration home he said nothing.
