CHAPTER 13: A Devil Deal Of Mine

Eric P.O.V

"Here are your assignments," Adam said as he gave me two folders. I smirked at that poor guy and looked at the neatly done work.

"Good job. Now, be off!" Zack said dismissively to him and in no time he disappeared somewhere in the hallway.

"Aww, don't talk with him like that. He happened to be our savior." I chuckled as I remembered that poor boy horrified face. Though, we never put any prank on him still, so many students didn't even dare to look at us.

"What are you planning to do now?" Zack asked as we walked towards the gateway of the school. Owen hadn't arrived yet and we were waiting for him like good friends we were. And I didn't know why we were even waiting for him when we already knew he would never come soon? He was a lost and late idiot since forever.

"Something interesting..." I winked.

We sat on the bench near the entrance of the school. You could see the whole outer view of the school from here. Students were coming and trudging towards their lockers and classes, some were hanging near their sportbikes, showing off and flirting with girls, and some were busy in their PDA. The usual high school atmosphere!

"Mind telling me what sort of interesting things?" He questioned curiously. I grinned in return. But his brows creased together and confusion filled me.

"What?"

"Is it Skylee?" He said, nodding his head to my left.

I snapped my head to my left in such a swift move that I swore I heard a crack. Apart from that, I felt goosebumps all over me, and without any reason, my heart started to do some weird unnecessary jumps.

"Where?" I asked as I looked everywhere until I found her standing near a car. Her back was facing me and her long black hair was falling in curves over her red backpack, which was clinging to her back. I just noticed that she had so long hair. They were literally reaching below her waist almost touching her hips. I involuntarily cleared my throat.

"I think there is someone in the car," Zack said and my brows creased as I glared at that car. I felt anger for some unknown reasons.

"Who?" It slipped out of my mouth even before I knew.

"Wait for a minute, I'll go and ask her, or maybe even better I can check on my own, what say?" Zack mocked and I rolled my eyes at him.

But the next moment, my eyes almost bulged out of their sockets as an unknown irritating feeling washed over me, doing tingles with my heart and stomach. Wait... What? Did I say my heart?

I watched as after sending a freaking flying kiss at that idiot inside the car, she turned around with a smile playing on her lips, and started to walk towards the school entrance while that car drove away.

I felt extremely irritated without any reason. I didn't know her, she didn't know me, then why was I feeling all these foreign tingles in my heart? Why there was an urged to go after that car, checked that person, then beat the shit out of him was overwhelming me? I took a deep breath and forced myself to stay calm. I didn't know anything nor I wanted to do anything stupid.

'Stay calm. Stay calm.' I was enchanting inside my head.

"So, she is here with her boyfriend."

And here goes my enchantment.

An annoying voice said beside me, adding more annoyance to my already annoyed state. I rolled my eyes and looked at her with a bored face.

She shrugged, "Who else it could be?"

"It really doesn't concern me whether she has one or not," I stated with a bored face.

Liar! You didn't even use the word 'boyfriend'! My subconscious mocked me whom I simply ignored.

"Of course, why it would? I was just saying," Helen replied. Before I could say something, Owen replied with a straight face, coming towards us, "We don't need your opinion."

Meanwhile, She walked past us not even sparing a glance at me.

It's not like I do care but still...

"Helen, I advise you to maintain at least a ten-step distance from me," I said to her as I showed her a more boring face if possible. I stood up from the bench and so Zack. While she showed me overdramatic puppy dog eyes and clung to my arm.

"Why are you saying this?" She innocently blinked her light grey eyes, but trust me she didn't look even an inch innocent. Like Skylee looked when she played her infamous innocent card.

Why am I comparing Helen with her?

Making my arm out of her hold, I made a reasonable distance between us. Then I looked at Owen who had a frown etched on his face, and Zack was glaring at me.

"Excuse us," I said to her as I walked away with my gang. Gladly, she didn't protest. Now, it was like a game for her, clinging and flirting with me in front of Owen, just to push his button. I literally felt like a puppet in between them.

"God! I really hate that bitch!" Zack huffed. I hate it that he used that word for her but right now I didn't have time to lecture him about ex-friend manners as I caught sight of a particular extremely blackhead.

"I'll catch you guys later," I said as I made my way towards Miss Arrogant. She just disappeared behind the other corner. I had to catch her.

"Where are you going?" They both asked in unison.

"I'll tell you later." I waved my hand while clutched the folders tightly with my other hand, and took long strikes towards the corner while they both sent their signature 'knowing' smirks at me.

Idiots!

Turning around, I looked frantically to find her in the crowd of students heading to their classes, my heart doing summersaults inside my chest. I guess adrenaline pumped through me because I was excited... Maybe scared and God, it was weird.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I spotted her. She was heading towards the classroom. I literally ran behind her and stopped right in front of her. I put my hand over the doorframe in front of her face to block her way in, and caught my breath. She raised her brows skeptically. She looked confused and clueless.

"Let's talk," I said and looked behind her, Zack and Owen were coming towards us. Of course, we had the same first-class together. How could I forget that?

"No," She simply said, making me look back at her. I stood straight and looked at her with a bored face. She just loved to jab my ego. She rolled her eyes and was about to walk past me when I grabbed her oh-so-delicate elbow and dragged her along with me. Before my friends could see me or before the teacher himself would arrive.

"I didn't ask."

"Damn it! Don't touch me!" She snapped angrily as she tried to get out of my hold but my grip was strong. I smirked at her poor attempt but man, she was strong because of the way she was trying to twist my hand to get rid of my hold.

"Leave me, you idiot!" She yelled out of frustration when she didn't succeed in getting rid of me. I smirked and dragged her towards the not-so-occupied hallway and let go of her elbow not before turning her around to me so that her back was facing the wall.

"Listen..." She cut me off, "No you listen! Don't. Ever. Do. This. Again!" She said each word angrily, gritting her teeth. I couldn't help but smirk in amusement. She glared at me and I winked.

"I will stop doing this once you tell me, why did you slap me?" I said, closing the distance between us, practically hovering over her.

"Alright. I won't tell you. Never ever. Now?" She titled her head and crossed her arms over her chest, not even losing a bit of confidence despite the fact, I was standing so close to her. Not even caring that my breath was probably fanning her face.

What is she?

I was disappointed she didn't get affected by me. Another jab at my poor ego since I was feeling too much right now that I didn't even want to admit in my mind. But... She smells good. Shut up!

'"Let's make a deal then," I said, remembering my real purpose and sending all other thoughts at the back of my mind. She just glared at me in return, might be giving a hint to continue, so I continued.

"We both had to work on an assignment and had to submit it today, remember? But neither of us does anything. So..." I smirked as I showed her the folders in my other hand.

"Here is your work. Go and submit it and in return accept my challenge." I extended the folder to her. She switched her eyes between the folder and me. I was impressed and hated it at the same time, she was so good at hiding her thoughts.

"What if I won't?" She smirked as her emerald eyes shined with amusement. My smirk deepened. I placed my hand over her head on the wall and moved my face closer to her.

Now, there was barely an inch distance between us. I stared at her beautiful face. It took all my strength to stop that player inside me to kiss her soft pink lips. It felt like her eyes were hypnotizing me and I was losing control over myself which never happened before. My breath was already uneven and my heart was beating madly. While on the other hand, she just stared skeptically at me.

"Then I will believe that you are a coward, little scary kitten who just loved to act like a fearless wild cat," I whispered, controlling myself from doing any wrong move I would regret later. Hearing me, her brows creased together, telling me she didn't like my statement. But I couldn't say much because my eyes were switching between her lips and eyes.

"I don't give a shit. Just think whatever you want." She hissed like a snake, scrunching her nose up in anger, only looking so cute. I stopped the urge to pinched her nose. But I noticed another thing, her accent... It was different, in a mesmerizing kind of different. It wasn't British nor was it American, but... Just different.

"Now move aside!" She ordered, raising her brows and slightly pushing me backward. I felt too much disappointed. Why my presence didn't affect her? It always worked on other girls. Why not on her? And why was I too disappointed? Why was I so affected by her?

I moved backward, she glared at me before she tried to walk away when I stopped her in a way that caused my own heart to came to a halt. I snaked my arms around her waist from behind, causing her to stiffened and froze at her spot, damn even her breath stopped. I took my lips near her ear - she smelled so good like Lilly and lavender. I smirked at the way she stiffened in my arms.

Now, that's what I want.

"W... What the hell!" She shuttered and my smirk deepened. She tried to move my arms away from her waist but was useless. She should know by now that I was stronger than her. So, eventually after struggling like a fish for a while, she gave up and sighed.

"Tell or accept. You have only two choices, kitten. And I won't let you go until you choose one," I whispered in her ear and she practically shivered. Ohh! How much I wanted to nuzzle my nose in her neck! Damn it! I scolded the playboy inside me. I reminded myself that I really didn't want to lose control. But it seemed like I didn't have control over myself right now.

"Fine..." She whispered back in a barely audible voice and I let go of her. I was disappointed in myself for already missing her warmth against mine. But I really shouldn't irritate this poor girl more, right?

Taking steps ahead of her, I stopped in front of her. She was looking down unable to hide the pinkish blush on her soft cheeks.

'So hence proved, she is a normal girl with a bit much attitude. She didn't get affected by anything easily. A little hard work is a right formula to solve her puzzle.' I thought to myself as if, I had solved a very difficult algebraic expression.

"So, are you going to tell me the reason behind that slap or willing to accept my challenge?" I asked curiously. Through, I was good either way.

"Tell me about that bloody challenge," she said blankly with eyes fixed at the floor. I smiled at her cuteness, as my heart did a flipflop inside my chest. Because she was looking down, she couldn't see me smiling at her.

I cleared my throat and placed my devil smirk back on my lips. "Give me your phone," I said, extending my hand to her.

At this, she looked up at me with annoyance. "Why?" She snapped.

"Come on!" I moved my hand. She glared at me and huffed before she put her phone angrily on my hand.

"O aptal cesareti kabul etmeye karar verdiğimde hayatımın o sefil zamanına lanet ettim," she muttered under her breath some foreign words. I blinked, unable to understand a single word. So that was where the strange accent came from. I still remembered when she said a word back then. I guess she knew some foreign language. Or might be, that foreign language was her mother language.

Translation: (I cursed that miserable time of my life when I decided to accept that stupid dare.)

I saved my number on her phone and message myself 'hi!'. Then I gave it back to her. I smirked while she just rolled her eyes and snatched her phone back angrily.

"Is it a new way to ask for a girl's number?" She glared at me.

"Tonight, at midnight. I will message you the place. Don't bring your sick bodyguards with you. Come alone. Also, keep your driving license with you." I said, ignoring her remark. Then added with a thought, "You know how to drive, right?"

She glared at me and walked ahead leaving me behind. Then stopping near the corner of the hall, I literally felt that she turned back very dramatically as her hair seemed like they twirl in the air.

She yelled, "I wish to see you never!"

She vanished behind the corner while I stared towards the direction she went with a ghost of a smile playing on my lips.

"See you soon..."
