CHAPTER 11

Veward P.O.V

I was waiting for the doctor to call me inside so that I would confirm if everything was settled. As soon as the doctor waved at me. I went inside.

I asked, "Is everything done?"

"Yes...as you've asked," He replied.

"You are not allowed to have a single mistake," I warned him.

"Don't worry sir, I will handle everything." He assured me.

*******

I was on my way towards the Amino mansion. I needed to settle some things over there. It had been one week since Marie was locked in her room and one week since last I saw her.

I am glad that she is alive but the problem was not finished yet. She was again saved by that mysterious masked savior. It irritated me to bones to think about that mysterious idiot!

It was hard to digest that someone always saved her at the very least moment. I mean how was that possible for a human to do so. I was happy she was saved but confused at the same time. According to her, that mysterious person had powers but magical power does not exist at all. Then how it all happened?

Anyways, the issue at hand was not that. We needed to investigate on our own to find the real culprit and for that, we need to let Marie escape from her own house legally.

Legally!

A mischievous smile broke down on my lips at the thought of the 'legal' word.

I reached the mansion and drove inside. That mansion was almost 24,000 square feet, a version of the Château De Versailles. Consisted of six bedrooms, three guest rooms, and an extended driveway that fits 30 cars. Plus a foyer big enough to fit a shopping mall inside.

There was an indoor swimming pool fit for a king and a sprawling piazza with an ornate front gate. A gym, library, gaming room. I knew the deep detail because most of my time had been spent in that mansion.

Uncle Max was a childhood friend of my Dad and the same goes for Marie and me. We were childhood best friends. And I knew Marie was more than a best friend to me.

In the past seven days, Uncle sorted out many issues and somehow he managed to divert cops' attention from Marie. They were still searching and investigating but no update. Whoever did this had planned everything with a sharp mind.

In the crowd of lots of enemies and competitors, it was really hard to even suspect who it could be?

I hopped out of my car and trudged inside. It was early morning hours at 7 am. I had not even eaten my breakfast yet. As I entered the hall Anna came and greeted me nicely, "Good morning sir, actually no one allowed to meet the princess. So..."

"No, I come to see Uncle Max. Where is he?"

"In five minutes he will come for breakfast. You can meet him at the table." She added, "While enjoying breakfast."

I smiled, "Aww! Anna, so nice of you." She smiled back and moved towards the Kitchen.

I stepped towards the dining area. There was a big rectangle table with half a dozen chairs, the table was decorated with white table mats, fresh flowers, candle stands, and some fruits. Maids were settling things for Uncle's breakfast as I made my way there.

I sat there repeating my dialogues in mind when Uncle entered. I stood up out of respect and greeted him, "Good morning!"

He looked at me with a calculative gaze and then said "Morning!" Then sat down on the head chair.

The air was filled with the mouthwatering fragrance of bacon, fried eggs, sausages, mushrooms, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, toast, and accompanied by black coffee and orange juice -- a typical London breakfast.

"What do you want?" Uncle asked while picking the newspaper from the table and at the same time checking his phone.

"Actually, I come here for a favor." I grinned.

"Forget it. I'm not going to permits you to meet Marie." He declared with his eyes focused on the newspaper.

"No, I actually want to take her for a mental checkup," I said carefully. He was about to take his very first bite when he stopped abruptly and passed a dead warning glare at me. If looks could kill I would be dead by now.

Shit! Wrong words.

'Great! I'm going to die now.' I gulped in nervousness.

"Don't misunderstand. Let me explain first." I said hurriedly, standing my hands up in defeat before he could finish me with his intense gaze.

"Be careful with your explanation, young man." He gritted, with a clenched jaw. I could sense what would happen if I couldn't give a satisfying explanation. I again gulped.

"Well, she often forgets things and also doesn't remember anything from the accident night. So I arranged an appointment for her. In that way, We'll know if she has any mental disease and can cure it. You know it's not normal to forget the entire 48 hours of life. And if there is a medical issue we can figure it and can cure it before it gets worse and convert into something serious" I said each word selecting carefully.

His facial features didn't soften but I could say he was contemplating it. As he sipped his coffee before asking, "Who's the doctor?"

"Mr. Walton, you might know him," I said, knowing the fact he was his family doctor. I internally prayed for his approval.

"He's trustworthy. Alright, go ahead but I'll come with you." He said and I dance with enthusiasm, mentally of course.

"Done. I go and get Marie ready for the appointment." I said while standing.

"Eat your breakfast first." He ordered and I followed like a good boy.
