Chapter Nineteen-Kenna

My body was thrown around mercilessly in the boot of the car as we drove along a dirt road away from the edge of the forest.

The hurt and betrayal I felt from Delilah ran deep; it's obvious now that she was the one who broke into my apartment that night. Was she working for the Scrolls? Or was she doing this out of jealousy? Perhaps neither seeing as she mentioned that I was worth a lot of money, which would make this kidnapping motivated by pure greed.

We drove for about an hour and I desperately tried to keep track of each turn we made but to no avail, there were simply too many.

Eventually the car stopped and I listened as three doors opened and slammed shut followed by the crunch of stones under heavy boots moments before a man's voice became audible, "What’s going on, Dee? We have orders to take her straight back, why the hell did you take us here?"
