Chapter Twenty Two-Kenna

By the time I'd satiated my thirst the man was cold and lifeless, each drop of blood drained from his body. I gasped and shoved him off of me before covering my mouth my wrist, pulling it away to find it drenched in blood.

It had been so long since I'd fed like that but my control never wavered, not even in the Sanctuary where we were beyond deprived yet constantly surrounded by humans.

Panic stirred inside of me at the thought of being caught here with his body that I sprang up, raced to the door and turned the key, making sure that it was locked. I looked down at the innocent man and fought the bile rising in my throat as I dragged his body next to the bed.

I pulled the white sheets off and threw it over him, adding the pillows as well when I saw it was still translucent enough to see his dark skin underneath.
