Chapter Twenty One-Kenna

I gazed out over the fields of grass as the sun slowly began to rise. Light streamed into the room, highlighting flecks of dust as they danced freely in its warmth.

The memories from my past life kept me company and I found myself combing through each one carefully. Was this all worth it? Perhaps Father was right; maybe my venture was foolish and only served to display my soul's immaturity. It wouldn't be long now until I'd need to return home for good and take my place on the throne; something I'd been evading since before I came here.

It was odd to have lived two lives here on earth. I felt like I was different somehow, that the tragedy I faced on the Isle of Sanctuary changed me right down to my core; something I didn't predict would happen.

Sighing, I leaned against the dusty wooden walls beside the corpse that seemed to be watching me with wide eyes. "What are you looking at?" I mumbled to him before using my foot to roll him over.
