Time crept by to finally start the theme, allowing Nami to speedily call out her actions to craft the hay. Not even a moment passed before Jaivva instructed her to drop the hay she had weaved together down.
A guard came to their cell. Stern looks were on all faces, except Nami who was nearly frozen. She shivered under the guard's stare.
"His gaze leaned over, "Vanessa. You have been summoned to compete for the highness".
Vanessa walked to the steel bars, worried as to what awaited her in this time without weapons to defend herself. The guard open the cell door, bringing her out.
Carter laughed, "Good luck Vanessa. And enjoy meeting your idol".
That comment bugged her. Walking through the dungeon, past stone walls and a few other cells didn't erase Carter's comment. To wish her luck, to know who the guest is, and wether or not the guest was her idle was absurd.
Stepping into the sunlight, Vanessa instantly blinded. Afterwards, she breathed in a pound of dust into her lungs. The arena was filthy. She felt as though she was standing in a desert or a wasteland.
A familiar voice shouted, "And the slave of the hour is none other than Vanessa! This little girl was first a monk and has even practitioned her way through samurai. After finally taking the advice of the veteran on her team, she has finally come to harness herself as a spellblade. Her typical weapon of choice is the katana and occasionally the rapier. Can she defeat her opponent with a straight sword, we will find out shortly".
Whiping the sweat and dirt from her face, Vanessa was able to clearly see that Logan was the one announcing her battle. In fact, he was working for the empire that enslaved them.
She took a moment to envy his shining light armor. Clearly he was accepted into their higher ranks.
"Logan?" she called, ignoring the grotesque king cheering from his throne, centered in the arena's wall.
Logan nodded his head up, causing Vanessa to view the king. Nothing impressive. He was a thick man, mostly flabber. She looked back at Logan who had again nodded for her to look up.
It was then that Vanessa noticed a woman draped in fine white linen. Decorated in gold with a nice bust and porcelain skin. She had two cereal bowls in front of her and a fine spoon in one hand. All of the money in the world couldn't pay Vanessa not to know who that is.
"Is Saya The Moon Fox," gasped Vanessa, "And Dani... And Mina".
Dani was smiling around, sporting a yellow dress that complimented Saya's. Mina sat wearing a red draped dress, but not much of a smile. Clearly, Saya was the queen in this theme.
Vanessa was so lost in thought that she hadn't realized that a light shield and straight sword were placed in her left and right hand respectively. Nor did she hear Logan repetitively call her name for the fight.
