On Another Team

Logan smiled, facing the King and Queen, "And that my fellow royals, is one of our best gladiators at the disposal of the crown".

Vanessa breathed heavily, listening to faint claps come from above. It was unexpected. One would believe there to be a cheering crowd much like in the movie Gladiator. Instead, Vanessa bare witness to an entire gladiator stadium that was nearly empty with the exception of a few royal.

Facing her idol again, Vanessa wore a smile that showed nothing less than her gratitude to be in Saya The Moon Fox's presence. Though she wished she could be up in the royal podium with her.

That wish ended when two guards chained her hands and brought Vanessa back to her cell with the others. She merely sat, blankly staring at the ground.

Carter was curious, "What's eating yah, Gilbert"?

"Grapes," from Bruce, brought out a chuckle from the two boys.

Vanessa knew he was referring to her, "Well... I just fought a chimera".

"Damn it!" shouted Carter, "I thought it was a griffon".

"No," corrected Vanessa, "Griffons have eagle heads. Anyways, I wonder what would it look like if a chimera had a hamster head".

"That would be cute!" said Jaivva, sitting next to Nami.

Vanessa shook her head, "Is too late. I should have did it in January when I over took the stadium with giant hamsters".

Nami stopped weaving the hay key, "Really"?

Jaivva smack her hand, "We get it down around here"!

Miyu curled into a ball, "How many people are watching us"?

Jeff rubbed his head, "How was Logan"?

Vanessa ranted on how he wouldn't shut up and harassed her. Carter smirked, stating how Logan always loved putting on the show. Now that more people are watching us, its safe to say he was trying to bost up your team's recognition. He may have also been trying to help you win.

A little thought and Vanessa was able to realize that many of Logan's remarks were aimed at criticizing her to do something better.

Vanessa found herself criticizing Logan in a teasing manner with Carter. It was kind of weird given that she never spoke to him prior. It wasn't until she saw Jeff nodding for her to come over that she cut the conversation short to sit next to her leader.

He bowed towards her ear to whisper, "Be careful with Logan".

Hearing that alone sent a jolt rushing through Vanessa body that paused her heart.

Jeff continued, "I was looking through some stuff and found that him and Dani are secretly on another team together. If you think about it, it makes sense. He doesn't like the way I run things. Which means he's likely the assassin and is looking to run off to his other team once the June Event comes. I sent Hakken to spy on him to see what's up".

The blank stare on Vanessa's face caught everyone's attention. Especially Jaivva's who insisted Jeff tell her. He kept quiet in belief that Jaivva would be on Logan's side if it ever came down to it. What shocked him more was the changed expression from Vanessa when she looked at him.

Her eyes had some water held back, yet confident, "Mmm, Logan wouldn't do that".

Jeff leaned back, knowing she was stern on this belief, "Okay... Just be careful".

"Done," said Nami.

Jaivva refocused herself, "Nice. Let's recheck real quick and see if it works".

The two girls snuck to the cell door and checked the hay crafted key once the guards weren't looking. Sure enough, it worked and the two quickly snuck back to their spot after relocking the cell.

Carter nodded, "Now that we have a good one, we can start duplicating and communicating with others".

"Then what?" asked Miyu.

Vanessa smiled, "If nothing changes, we escape and come back with a rebellion".
