Danger of Death

Lucy did not have a clue about what was going on after sunset and how Julius knew of such creatures being outside. It appeared as if the demons were appearing in his mind and told him they were all waiting outside for him. Lagertha was not called in the living room, and her mother was trying to understand why Julius would go back outside right after hiking. For now, all he could ever think about was defeating the monsters that were calling him and nobody else. They all had something big planned for him, but all of them had to do this in secret.

"Julius, you can talk to me. Why are you going outside after you just came home?" Lucy asked.

"I... can't tell you. Now... don't follow me," Julius said.

"What about your dinner?" She asked.

"I'm not hungry. Lock every door and if anyone comes knocking for whatever reason, do not answer it! I'll be right back!"

Then Julius opened the front door and walked outside with his right hand holding his greatsword and his left hand holding the door handle. He saw that it was very windy and the noises running in his head began to drastically increase. Then, he closed the door behind him and began walking on the long, dark road and followed the trail of where the demonic noises were coming from. Neither Lucy nor Lagertha had any clue of what has been occurring inside his head, and he preferred to keep it that way. He then turned his head back to his house and made sure that nobody was there to tear it down.

He made a promise long ago that he would do anything for his wife and daughter to keep them away from the creatures of darkness. The darkness of the clouds was covering the sky, and the night was coming so quickly and effectively. He did not hesitate to keep holding onto the handle of his weapon; he was not afraid to use it for whatever means necessary. His nordic greatsword always protected him from an intense encounter by a demon who also wields an enormous weapon. Of course, they could always use their sharp nails to attack their opponents, but most of them preferred using swords.

Julius spoke to himself while walking, saying, "Lucy, forgive me. I don't know why these voices are calling me, and I have no idea what they want from me. You just have to trust me on this one. I refuse to back down and surrender to this opponent waiting for me. I swear to you and Lagertha, that I will kill them all before the sun rises. They will all become like dust, and the river shall run red with their blood."

He made this promise to his family because if he died, they would not know what to do without him. Lagertha without her father would only bring her depression and agony, and Harald without his brother would bring him disappointment and sadness. Julius kept staring at the dark shadows and continued walking towards it to kill whatever and whoever stands before him. He knew within himself that all of those who wander in the night are possessed by demons or actual creatures who served the darkness. The wind was howling very abruptly, and it was getting sort of difficult to see what he was doing.

Then, he stood there and heard a bunch of demonic noises coming from all directions and corners. He looked everywhere and checked all of his surroundings to be prepared for whatever tries to kill him. For a few seconds, there was nothing standing in his way and nobody was making any noises. The distance and the creatures were nowhere to be seen, and it seemed as if he was being tricked. The demons were always known to have a bunch of tricks up their sleeve, and they would lead most of the ones they tempted to their demise.

He shouted at the horizon, saying, "Come out, devils! You will not claim me this night. You will meet my blade before the night is over. If you are ready to die, then show yourself! Otherwise, I'll be going back home. And once I'm home, you will not think about coming back to haunt me!"

Eventually, Julius knew they would come out and try to fight him because he dared them to. This was a way to force his enemies to know that he is not a knight to be bargained with. Only a foolish person would ignore the shadowy fog, run away from a demon, and expect to live and see the sunlight. True, they would live if they kept running, but not for long because the demonic creatures could see their target from about ten yards away. He also knew that even the most intelligent night creature has a weakness, like all hellish beasts.

Then Julius heard the same demonic voices again, and now he had his eyes completely opened to keep. He had all kinds of hate and contempt against the demons, and he would give up anything to kill every one of them. Julius had his greatsword pointing forward at anything that might come to attack him; he would be ready for any kind of danger wanting to begin. Julius and his brother fought their enemies for the greater good, and they were interested to know what other adversaries wanted to meet their blades. He heard the sound getting louder and louder until it was the only thing running in his head.

Then, a large fiend charged quickly towards Julius with a long sword pointed at his chest. The creature was very sinister and was waiting for a good death to be set upon him.

"Come closer, demon! Come to me, if you dare!" Julius shouted.

"It was you who has killed thousands of us!" The demon shouted.

"Yeah, I'm your huckleberry. What of it?" He asked.

"I will strip the flesh from your bones!"

Then, the demon ran after the knight with so much fury inside of his sanity, and he did not hesitate to do his master's bidding. Julius stood in front of the demon, kept his extent, and waited for the beast to do more than just run towards his enemy. Then Julius stepped forward and raised his greatsword up in the air to launch a vigorous attack onto the demon's body. He realized that some demons in Hell were strong; he also knew that some of them were very prideful in themselves. Julius then uses his greatsword and slices the demon in half with so much blood and gore splattering everywhere.

Then, he sensed a couple of more creatures hustling after him, and he was ready and prepared to cut them all down. Most of the demons who were charging towards him were carrying swords and axes, while the others were using their claws to kill their one and only target. Then, he ambled towards them and continued to be prepared and strong for all the challenges he will have to endure. Sometimes, if there was only one monster, he would simply run and come at his enemy at full speed. But, if there were a dozen or more demons wanting to take him down in one full sitting, he just walks towards them.

"I'm just letting you all know that I am not afraid of you! I know what you know that demons and hunters live to bring each person shame and contempt," Julius said. He knew that the demons heard him, but they could not think of a way to respond to him, other than because that would give away too much information.

"I've said it once. I shall say it again. If you will die, come to me!" He shouted. A few seconds later, he heard so many footsteps from the shadows coming towards him.

He believed they received the message they will die if they so desired to see him dead. From the horizon, two dozen demons were running as fast as possible towards him. He still had his greatsword in his hands, and he would swing it around as often as he could. The demons were frightening in appearance and had no fear of pain or death as they held onto their weapons. Then, he kept his distance and waited for all of them to keep running to him; he has used this method for about two decades and it never disappoints.

One demon ran towards him with his sword and mind focused on Julius's body. Then, he used his greatsword and deflected the attack the creature was about to use on him. The demons were looking from about ten feet away at the short duel that Julius and the deadly beast were having.
