Chapter 25: 'Tis Gone

Author’s Note

Quick reminder: Ace Butchers is/was a minor character I first introduced in Chapter 3, then again in Chapter 7.

Ambiguous threats kept stumbling across Livingstone’s way --- precisely two days after he’d received the first one. He spotted the second threat-filled message in an envelope hidden underneath the recent adjusted flower vase close to his doorstep, and found the third message strapped within his journal. He had exactly six days left out of the initial nine days to get the Chancellor what he wanted before he took actions against him.

He knew he was running out of time, yet he did not allow that to deter him from going through with his plan. In as much as he felt reluctant to share what was going on with others from the beginning, he was glad he thought otherwise and relayed what was going with his newfound friends --- even if it meant that their lives might be endangered if things suddenly went wrong.
