Wang Yong walked out of the hospital early in the morning in his school, allowing the bright positive energy from the sun rays to wash over him. Yesterday, he went home very angry but when he saw his grandmother lying on the hospital bed, his bad mood suddenly disappeared.
Weird, right?
As he got on his bike, a nurse came running out of the hospital holding a phone in her hand. "Wait!"
He paused to look at the young woman dressed in a light shade of pink like the color of her cheeks as she avoided eye contact with him, passing him the phone. "Doctor Huang said you forgot this in your grandma's room."
"Thank you." He made sure to let his fingertips brush her skin, watching her reaction in amusement.
The poor woman practically ran back into the hospital like a shy sixteen year old girl, leaving him chuckling.
"Why do you enjoy making girls uncomfortable around you?" Someone who had just appeared watching the scene asked him.
Out of shock, Wang Yong nearly fell from his bike. He growled when he recognised the person. "Mingli, I have told you so many times to stop scaring me like that! Do you want me to die of an heart attack?"
"Isn't that what you are doing to those girls?" Mingli's unrepentant face made Wang Yong want to smack him silly. But seeing him dressed in white with the aura of an angel, it also made him feel like he was learning all this bad things from him.
"Help me keep an eye on grandma. I will come back after school." He started his bike and sped off.
The nurse who had ran into the hospital stopped to calm her beating heart. She had never seen such a handsome face before and all the years of living an isolated life learning medicine did not help her at all. As she walked, she collided with an unknown person, making her glasses fall on the ground.
"I am sorry. Are you hurt?" The man dressed in a black leather jacket and ripped jeans bent down to pick up her glasses, handing them to her.
As she adjusted the eyeglasses on her face, she was stunned into another privilege of seeing another handsome figure in front of her, smiling modestly.
The man stretched out his hand for a handshake, introducing himself. "Hello, I am Kong Zhu. I have a friend who whose grandma is admitted into this hospital. His name is Wang Yong and I promise him I would stop by to visit his grandma. Can I see her?"
The woman nodded dazedly, forgetting hospital protocols. "Yes, of course. Please come this way."
Mingli quietly watched them and disappeared, entering his grandmother's room while they walked and chatted. By the time they arrived, the nurse was already giggling shyly at her companion's jokes. She arrived at the door and tried to open it. "This is where Wang Yong's grandmother is staying. He just left a few minutes ago.....Oh! Its not opening...."
Kong Zhu also attempted to open the door but it refused to open. He suppressed his annoyed countenance and asked the nurse. "Is it locked? Perhaps you should fetch a spare key to check."
The nurse ran to get the key, leaving Kong Zhu standing alone in front of the door. He removed a set of lock picks and tried to open the door but it remained stuck. He became perplexed at the current situation and waited for the nurse to return.
By the time she returned, he saw that she had come with the doctor-in-charge. A middle aged man dressed in white arrived with a scrutinizing expression when he saw Kong Zhu. "Hello, I heard that you came to visit Wang Yong's grandmother. May I ask what your name is?"
Kong Zhu laughed lightly with a sly glint in his eyes. "I am just a friend of Wang Yong. I heard his grandmother is ill so I came to visit her but the door refused to open. Is she going to be okay?"
"We have already called for someone to open the door." The nurse replied.
"Oh...okay. Then I will come and visit another time." He bowed and left.
The doctor's eyes followed him as he walked away before he walked forward to check the door. To his surprise, the door opened with a click leaving him and the nurse flabbergasted. They quickly entered inside to check the old woman's vitals before they relaxed subconsciously.
Doctor Huang hung his stethoscope around his neck before he turned to face the nurse. "Make sure you contact the engineer to check the door. Don't allow such things to repeat itself again." Unknown to them, as they left the room, Mingli stood at the opposite side of the door holding the door knob.
At the same time, Fu Pei had just arrived with Bai Du when he saw himself being dragged by the collar roughly. "Hey, what's wrong with you?"
"Where were you last night?" Wang Yong stood in front of him with stern eyes as he gripped the cloth tighter. "I waited for you for hours!"
"I was delayed by some events. Can you let go of my shirt?" Fu Pei didn't try to rescue his shirt but he knew that would anger him even more. From the look in his eyes, it was clear that Wang Yong was not himself.
"What's wrong, Wang?" Bai Du frowned when he saw the situation. He watched Wang Yong release his friend, bouncing restlessly in front of them.
"Doctor Huang said that my grandmother's condition is getting worse by the minute. I have tried contacting my godfather but he isn't responding. What should I do?" Wang Yong's long fingers scattered his messy hair in anxiety.
"We need to do something." Bai Du said immediately. "We should execute the plan this night!"
"Let's think about this more thoroughly and look for other solutions." Fu Pei advised him, refuting Bai Du's hasty idea.
"Don't you see that we no longer have much time?!" Bai Du said.
"I know....but maybe we should revise the plan. I have an ominous feeling about this." His words attracted everyone's attention because they knew that Fu Pei's premonitions were not to be ignored.
But Wang Yong had no choice. "I don't care! I won't allow anyone, not even the heavens take away my grandmother from me!"
