They won't come back.

"What?!" Fan Qiuyue closed her mouth that was left open due to shock, turning around to look at her surroundings. It was then she suddenly realized that the place was indeed empty and that her son was dressed in a black shirt and trousers paired with a black suit. Her eyes strayed to spot a black wooden box beside her son. "She is truly dead?!"

"She was cremated this morning." Wang Yong lifted his hand to show where her plaque was placed. "She had always said that even though you were her only child, you were an unfilial daughter. Go and pay your respects, perhaps her soul will be comforted."

"You.." She was about to snap at the boy again for his insulting comments when she heard the bystanders around her make snide remarks against her.

"He is right. She really looks and acts like an unfilial daughter. Looking at the way she dressed, she must have married into a very wealthy family yet her mother and her son were placed in this old house." One of the neighbours who lived in the opposite apartment commented.

"Wang Yong's late grandmother once told me that they were once rich but their businesses went bankrupt and her husband died from a heart disease. She never once talked about her daughter and always said that she had no one left in the world except her grandson. Imagine that!" Someone else said.

"That's not true. I loved my mother!" Fan Qiuyue turned around with brimming tears in her eyes, looking extremely wronged as she ran to hug the black box beside her son. "Mother! Look at how these people are treating your only child. They are accusing me of treating you badly."

Unfortunately, her nails were too long to grip the black box tightly so its smooth texture made it slip past her fingers, making it fall on the floor with a huge thud to the horror of the crowd.

Wang Yong rushed there immediately rebuking his mother. "What are you doing? Put my grandmother down!"

The rest of the crowd began to hurl insults at her, urging her not to disrespect her mother's ashes. Bohai took his mother who was stiff with bewilderment into his arms and glared at Wang Yong with disappointment and resentment.

He thought, how can he stand here and just watch them abuse his own mother without doing anything? How can he be so cold towards her? Its true that she was not someone without faults but she was still his mother! These people were hypocrites, how can they rebuke her for disrespecting her mother and not say anything when he was doing the exact same thing?

He restrained himself and looked at the policemen. "We should not forget our purpose for coming here. Wang Yong, can please remove your shirt so we can clarify the situation?"

Wang Yong froze with hesitancy, gripping the black box for a while before he said. "Okay."

Everyone watched him take off his suit first ad then his shirt, revealing his broad chest and well defined six packs. But the point was there was no tattoo on his milky white skin. Not even one ink stain.

"You see that? He is not the one you have been looking for!" The old woman who had defended Wang Yong earlier was his late grandmother's best friend. People called her Granny Wei.

"Maybe one of his two friends has the tattoo. Where are they? Have they run away?!" Fan Qiuyue shouted at the old woman.

"We are here!" Bai Du's deep voice thundered from the crowd as they parted to let him and Fu Pei pass into the apartment. He faced the policemen and said. "Officers, I will take off my shirt too!"

He and Fu Pei took off their black t-shirts and turned around to let the policemen inspect them. The three policemen said to Bohai. "There is no tattoo on their bodies. Since we have clarified this case, we would be leaving then. Please make sure you visit the station to retract your statement."

Bohai was so confused about the whole situation, he went personally to check his brother's collar again. He had seen that tattoo on his brother's neck many times now so he was so bewildered about its sudden disappearance.

Wang Yong stared at him with clear eyes and said. "If you don't release my shirt, I will a file a lawsuit against you for molestation."

Bohai quickly released him, holding his mother in his arms giving him a scene of a pitiful mother and son. Fu Pei saw the scene and sneered. "Well, are you not going now? My friend is still grieving yet you came here to cause such a ruckus, calling him a thief in front of his late grandmother."

"Wipe your tears and get out of here. You are so shameless, bullying an orphan like this." Granny Wei grabbed both of their hands and hurled them out of the house.

"Orphan? But we are his family!" Fan Qiuyue said indignantly. This time, she felt really wronged when she saw them treating her so unfairly.

"As far as I am concerned, he is an orphan because its better for him to have no family than to have both of you people as his relatives!" Bai Due spat out.

When Bohai saw that his mother was about to flare up again, he said loudly. "We would get going, now. I am so sorry for the disturbance we have caused here."

He frowned when he saw that his humble speech had no effect on the crowd who was full of simpletons, all their faces full of contempt and anger.

Wang Yong sat down and ripped away their hypocritical masks away with one sentence. "Just get out."

Their faces turned ugly with humiliation as they walked out of the house. The crowd dispersed when they saw them walk away but Wang Yong still kept an eye on them, watching them get into the car and drive away. Grandma Wei walked to his side and reassured him. "Don't be afraid. I will make sure they don't come back here to disturb you again."

Wang Yong concealed his cunning intentions with a sad and polite smile as he held old woman's hands, looking into her eyes to say. "I am not afraid. I know very well, they won't be coming back."
