Mingxia wiped her tears and smiled miserably at her escort whose gaze was full of anger and sympathy as they walked back home. Meng Huan found her walking with a sprained ankle so he offered to assist her becaus she overheard the conversation between Fu Pei and Wang Yong when he was about to go home.
Both of them were childhood friends from prominent families and their parents had always expected a future marital bond between them but everything changed in middle school when Wang and his friends suddenly showed up from nowhere. They snatched everything from him and he will never forgive them!
He stopped suddenly and clenched his fist. "Tell me, what is so special about Wang Yong that makes you so tolerant of his maltreatment and disrespect?"
Mingxia also stopped when she heard him. In fact, she was also fed up about constantly being humiliated and mistreated by a boy who was rejected by his own parents! She glanced furtively sideways at Meng Huan. If only he had defended his position as number one back then, she wouldn't have to be in this miserable state! "What other reason would I be with him? My heart belongs to him."
She lowered her head and whimpered in sorrow as she said. "B-But its just that...sometimes, I really don't understand him."
Meng Huan grabbed both of her hands together and enclosed them in his own. "Xia'er, don't worry. This pain, I will definitely avenge you!"
"It's not his fault. Qin Zexi is the one who always hangs around him and she makes me look bad." Mingxia sniffed.
"Qin Zexi can't be compared to you in any way. I won't allow her to continue to slight you!" Meng Huan hugged her, concealing his eyes full of viciousness.
Mingxia smiled.
The next day, the Liu family waited anxiously for the return of Wang Yong throughout the afternoon but he was no one was to be found. Fan Qiuyue was currently painting her nails in the loving room but she was scowling when she looked at the clock on the wall. "What bad manners! Look, he is late. He is making us wait for him just to spite me!"
Her assistant tried to pacify her as she stared nervously at the open door decorated with roses petals and fancy lights. "Maybe he is still in school or he is still packing. A lot of things might have delayed him."
Fan Qiuyue snorted, stretching her hand for the manicurist to hold before she said. "School? What use can a school do for someone as dimwitted as him? As for his luggage, none of that garbage will be entering this house!"
"Madame, please lower your voice. You may disturb Young Master Bohai's studying. You should calm down.....Oh, look they are here!" Her assistant whispered and pointed to the incoming group of people coming into the house.
Wang Yong was still dressed in his school uniform when he entered the house accompanied by his father, Liu Zhiqiang and some maids who were carrying his luggage. Fan Qiuyue frowned when she realized that Liu Zhiqiang went to personally pick up his son.
She didn't even try to smile when the rest of the staff welcomed him with warm greetings as if they had been waiting for him for a long time. Bohai watched them quietly as he stood on the stairs, smiling brightly.
Even though Wang Yong was always cold and indifferent with him, he had always felt truly blessed with having a senior brother although he was often disappointed with his unscrupulous behaviour. He truly felt that it was best they all stayed in the house from now on, perhaps it will help them become closer.
"Welcome home, Senior Brother." He walked down the stairs but still maintained a distance between them, unsure about his reaction. Liu Zhiqiang seemed very pleased about his attitude towards Wang Yong.
"Bohai! Thank you very much, its good to be home! Where is Mother? Mother!" He spared the boy a glance before his eyes strayed to look for Fan Qiuyue. When he finally spotted her, he walked past him leaving him looking a little hurt before he regained his smile weakly. From the looks of it, Liu Zhiqiang didn't notice anything and merely smiled when he saw his son approach his wife.
"Oh Mother!" He ignored her stiff expression as he enclosed her in a hug. "Did you miss me?"
Fan Qiuyue struggled to free herself in a subtle manner that didn't pass her husband's eyes. "Welcome. Your brother will show you your room so that you can refresh yourself while they prepare dinner."
"Okay." Fan Qiuyue's face darkened when she heard him agree so obediently yet he asked the butler to escort him to his room. Didn't he see how hurt his brother was?
"What are you still doing there? Are you not going to supervise dinner?" Liu Zhiqiang's eyes that was bright dimmed a little when he saw discontented his wife was about the arrival of her own biological son.
Fan Qiuyue forced herself to move when she saw her husband's face. "Right, excuse me then."
Meanwhile, Wang Yong and the butler stood in a corner upstairs observing them. Liu Zhiqiang who was in a good mood wrapped his hand around Bohai's shoulders and took him to the living room to sit and chat while his mother left with a furious expression. He turned to the butler. "Take me to my room."
When they arrived, Wang Yong paused to admire the room. He specifically asked his father to get this room arranged. This room which belonged to his younger brother, Mingli was originally occupied by Bohai but he offered to exchange his childhood room for this one. Because this one was more important.
Seeing that they were alone, the butler immediately dropped to his knees and bowed his head to Wang Yong. "Boss, Welcome home!"
Wang Yong noticed that they had arranged the room in a modern style but they still manage to retain his childhood toys. "Thank you, Butler Fang. How is everyone here?"
"We are doing fine, although we do miss everyone back in the Tiger Gang. I sent you an email about the reports on the Liu family." Butler Fang stood upright and watched his young master examine the the pillows on the bed.
Wang Yong gasped when he saw a race car lying among the other toys in the box. He smiled happily, his dimples coming out in display to aid his handsome countenance as he waved the door in the air to a certain direction. "Mingli, look! This is the race car we played with when we were children!"
The butler's face drained when he heard Wang Yong speak. He heard about the death of Wnag Yong's little brother when he was serving as an apprentice under the former butler of the house. He shuddered.
Why was he mentioning his name now?
Right now, was he talking to his dead brother?
