Her plans to freedom.

Bohai was at home, walking to and fro in the living room with worry in his face as he looked at the clock. "Are you sure you have called his school teacher to ask about his whereabouts?"

Butler Fang dropped the phone he was holding in his hands with mutual feelings on his face. "I just called her, Young Master Bohai. She said that he left classes early today. She also thought that he would be at home by now."

"So what you are saying is that he didn't attend classes today? I told you that he was a good-for-nothing. He is probably somewhere in bad company doing bad things!" Fan Qiuyue sneered, dropping her magazine to look at Bohai. "Why don't you go upstairs to change and come down later to eat some food? You should be focusing on your preparations for college exams instead of standing here upset over a little dimwit!"

"Mother!" Bohai felt annoyed with his mother who seemed unfazed over her son's situation. He tried to restrain himself, practicing patience with her. "Wang Yong could be in danger, the streets of Chongqing are not safe!"

"Ah!" Fan Qiuyue sneered as she stood up. "No one would kidnap someone like him under broad daylight. These days, boys like him are either in the streets doing drugs or somewhere engaged in fights! Just forget about him!"

"Who should we forget about?" Liu Zhiqiang who had just returned from work entered the house to hear them arguing. "What are you two talking about?"

Bohai turned to him. "Father, I....."

"...We were just talking about his school work and how disappointed I am about his weekly evaluation test." Fan Qiuyue smiled, ignoring the disappointed gaze of her son from the corner of her eyes.

Liu Zhiqiang passed his briefcase to the butler before he walked to meet his son, placing his hand on his shoulders. "We should not scold him. Bohai has never let us down and I don't think he will start doing it now. It is just the pressure of the upcoming exams that is weighing in him."

Bohai felt grateful when he saw his father stand up for him. He Was happy that his efforts were finally being recognised by him. "Thank you, Father. I will make sure I pass the college exams and fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor just like you."

Liu Zhiqiang patted his shoulder with a smile on his face. "It's okay as long as you don't forget the principles and morals we taught you. Also if you can, please help your brother study so that he can pass his exams too." He looked around the room and asked Bohai. "So where is your brother?"

Fan Qiuyue stood up and said. "He is....."

She was interrupted by the sound of a phone ringing in her husband's pocket. Liu Zhiqiang lifted up his hand to excuse himself and went to a corner to pick up his call. Fan Qiuyue commanded her son in a low whisper. "Don't tell your father anything. I don't want him to get worried over nothing."

Bohai was about to disagree with his mother when he heard his father ask on the phone in an agitated tone. "What is wrong with Wang Yong? Tell me the truth, what is wrong with my son?!"

Bohai and his mother shared a look.

Thirty minutes later, Liu Zhiqiang sat down in front of the school doctor in his office, looking like he had aged ten years more than he was now. The doctor told him with a straight face, ignoring his distressed expression. "Your son got hurt during a vocational class and one of the machines slit his wrist because he was not wearing any safety gloves."

"Oh my goodness." Liu Zhiqiang exhaled wearily, rubbing his head in pain. "Is he going to be okay?"

"Yes, he didn't attend any classes because the pain killer medicine I gave him had some side effects of drowsiness. I think he should be awake by now." The doctor led him to the examination room where Wang Yong was sitting on a couch.

Liu Zhiqiang did not say anything to him but instead carried him home. He was afraid that his son would think he was scolding him if he said anything else.

Luckily for him, his wife didn't say anything either until the boys went to their rooms to change before lunch. She approached her husband saying. "See? I told you that he was nothing but a disgrace to us! Imagine what people would say when they find out about what happened today?"

Liu Zhiqiang realized that it was times like this that made him always lose his temper with his wife. "Just shut up! Our son got injured from a workshop accident and that's all you have to say? You don't deserve to be a.....cough.... cough..."

Fan Qiuyue touched him in concern, bringing a glass of water to his lips. "What is wrong with you, husband?"

"It must be the fine dust outside that affected me. I also want to take a shower, leave me alone." Liu Zhiqiang loosened his tie and began to undo his sleeve buttons.

"Of course, please excuse me." Fan Qiuyue left the room with a cold expression. She walked to the guest room and locked the door, stopping at the balcony before she pulled out a pack of cigarettes looking at the sky in deep contemplation.

She hated him! She despised him for the way he had treated her all this years like she was just an someone he could use to vent his anger on when he felt like it. She was nothing but a trophy wife to him and he had never loved her!

Just when she had exhaled a few puffs of smoke, her mood turned even more sour when she remembered the arrival of that boy who had spoiled her plans to freedom. Things between her and her husband were getting worse because of her son!

Maybe she should have followed that person's advice to pretend to be nice to her son but she really couldn't do it. The mere thought of that boy infuriated her!
