I Got Nerfed So I Just Got Another Power-Up

Beidou challenging me was quite the surprise. To be completely honest, I needed to put in a little effort when I was fighting her. Not only was her weapon a literal big ass sword, I also needed to be careful with that counter move she has. Was this what Lumine felt when we fought last time?

"*Huff* Not bad, old man…*Huff*Not bad at all."

"I could say the same to you too."

"Pfft, oh please. You weren't even trying, were you?"

I only laughed a bit as I scratched the back of my neck. It's really hard being too powerful and then sparring with someone weaker than you. Not like Beidou was weak or anything, it's just that I'm simply too powerful at the moment.

Beidou then told me that I should no longer participate in the tournament. I was just about to ask her about the ride to Inazuma, but she cut me off. Since I defeated her, she told me that I'll just get the ride anyways.

At this, Kazuha looked saddened though. Beidou also noticed this and just as she was about to ask him about it, one of the Alcor's crew called out to us.

"The unkindled Vision is gone."

Almost immediately, all three of us were on high alert. I looked around using the elemental aspect of my eyes but saw nothing. Tch, so it wasn't a Vision bearer who took it. I switched to life force and dashed away from the gathering of people.

"Hey, old man, wait!"

I heard Beidou call out to me but this is more important. This is a Vision. An item that has the ability to make the wielder be able to harness the elements. I don't want to see someone not chosen use it. After all, I've never seen just how dangerous a Vision can be if used by the wrong person.

"Traveler!"

I looked back and saw Kazuha following me. I stopped in my tracks and looked around as Kazuha got closer. That's when I noticed a condensed source of life force in a nearby bush. I raised my hand, signaling for Kazuha to stop.

Walking closer, I signaled for Kazuha to follow me. He nodded and silently followed. From the looks of it, the man had his back turned from us. What a really bad choice…

I formed an Anemo ball and sent it towards the man. Just as it was about to reach him, I made it stop in place.

"And burst."

With my hands closing, the small Anemo ball exploded in a strong gust of wind. The gust of wind blew away the bush and even lifted the man a bit. Just as he was about to fall down, I sent a quick Geo hand to catch him. I don't know why, but I feel like something about the hand that I made seemed familiar. I know I haven't seen it before, but it gives me this feeling that it's connected to someone I know.

I made the hand bring him over to us and he looked surprised.

"How!?"

"Your ass was sticking out of the bush, dumbass." That wasn't true, but I don't really care about accuracy at the moment. "Anyways, I'll be taking that back." Using Anemo, I forcefully took the Vision in his hands back. I also used Geo to create chains to bind him with.

As I held the Vision, I felt a slight tingle in my fingers. Was that… Electro? I looked at the Vision in my hands and sure enough… It was flickering?

"What the hell…"

I held the Vision tighter and the flickering just got brighter and faster. This doesn't make sense. Shouldn't Visions react to the ambitions of the wielder? Why the hell is it reacting to me?

"Incredible… You actually rekindled the Vision!" Kazuha said from behind me. I looked at him confusedly and then back at the Vision. Did I really? Let's test it out.

I tried to connect with the Vision even more and I was kind of surprised that I was somewhat successful. 'Alright, with that done, I should be able to just-'

My eyes suddenly widened as I felt like I was being electrocuted. Not, it wasn't like I was being electrocuted, I WAS being electrocuted. Something was weird though. The Electro that was being emitted wasn't the normal purple that all Electro Vision wielders had… It was the same shade of black as my Gluttony while also having purple outlines.

"Tch, corruption huh?"

With a grunt, I stopped the Vision. I enveloped myself in Gluttony as I looked at the now dark purple Vision in my hand. It was no longer blinking, but now the crystal was dark purple and the sigil looked like a fusion of both the Pyro and Electro symbols.

"Uh… Are you really sure I rekindled it and not just corrupted it?"

"I… actually don't know." Kazuha said as he got closer. He was just about to touch the Vision when it suddenly formed a protective Electro(?) barrier around itself. "What the…"

I just sighed and decided to put the Vision in my pocket. Seems like only I can hold it now. Wait, that reminds me of a certain Pseudo-Vision that I took. Can I use that too? Might try it out soon, as for now though.

I turned to the thief, by his getup I presume a Treasure Hoarder, and walked closer. I crouched so that I was on the same level as him and just smiled. Although, I think he already knows what that smile means as his face turned pale.

"Did you really think you can just barge into an event like that, take the prize, and then come out without any repercussions?"

The sky darkened and I could see some of that corrupted Electro rise from my surroundings. I took a deep breath and tried to control this Pseudo-Electro. It was harder than normal. Maybe because the Vision is still confused on whether it should comply with me or not.

"Kazuha, bring this guy to Beidou. She should know what to do with him."

Kazuha nodded and guided the man toward where the tournament was held. I took out the Corrupted Electro Vision and began to ponder whether I should use this or just give it back to Kazuha.
