"After the incident. All ten of you who've survived was brought here. You were all so pale and weak, so we tried out best to take care of you all. You were also unconscious back then and a thought crossed my mind, saying that I don't want you all to suffer from such tragedy, making me use the forgetful vaccine that we made to put in all of you." She explained slowly and while the nurse is talking. Both Daisy and Granger felt sad for listening. "I know it was wrong for me to do it, but I don't have any choice but to make you forget. The eight of your friends are now outside, playing happily while still recovering from their bruises. They all forgot what happened that day, making the vaccine work. But in your cases... I was surprised that you even fought the power of the vaccine. No one can even fight it, not even once have I seen someone do it." She said as she look at both of them. "And the fact that everyone woke up two to three days after the incident except you two? I am amazed by how you did that. I mean, maybe the reason why you still remembered, is by sleeping too much, stopping the vaccine to spread into your body and make you not forget about it." She explained again.
"Hold up a second... So everyone of our friends forgot about what happened at Northern Dawn?" Granger asked, and Nurse Oh nodded as an answer.
"They can't remember even a single thing about the place. We even asked them if they knew their parents, but they all answered no." She said. "But because of you two sleeping for two weeks, the vaccine didn't took effect and just stopped working." She explained and all the two could do, was just nod. "I'm really sorry for doing this to you children. I just don't want you to suffer too much, just because of a tragedy that happened once." She said and lowered her head because of too much embarassment.
"I understand why you have to do it." Daisy said and when she looked at her, she felt a pain in the chest when she saw the young girl's tears began to fall again.
"But the mere fact that you tried to make us forget about our family is not a good one. You could've just made a vaccine for us to forget about the accident only and, you know, came up with a good reason why they died, but no... You even said that we don't have parents anymore, and that's what made me angry." Granger said about to burst, making Daisy hold his hand to calm him down. Good thing he noticed, so he calmed himself and gripped Daisy's hand to tell her that it worked.
"I know what I did wrong. That is why I am saying my apologies." She said and lowered her head again.
"We can't waste anymore sorry for the things that had happened in the past. Let's just all try to move on for us to keep moving forward, ok?" Daisy said, and even if her voice is cracking up, she still managed to finish what she said. Granger felt her sadness so he wrapped his left arm on her to support her.
"Thank you for saying that. I also think we need to go check the others. If you ever need something, just don't be shy to ask ok?" Nurse Oh said and smiled sweetly, but deep inside her, a crack in her heart starts to suffocate her. The two children just nodded as an answer making her have her leave.
"I can't just sit here and do nothing." Daisy said and when Granger look at her, she was bowing her head and clenching her fist as hard as she could. "I will really make them pay... For those who killed my family... For those who ruined my life, I will not forgive them." She said, and Granger can't do anything but to say a thing too.
"If you think that you're the only one who has a plan, then your wrong. Because I promised the day I was left behind that I will do anything to bring them justice." He said and also clenched his fist. His eyes glared while looking ahead, and even if there is light inside the room, he felt like he is seeing darkness in front of him starting to invade his point of view.
Because of this, Daisy embraced him, making him surprised and look at the girl who is now crying silently again in his chest.
"I may have hatred towards the person who killed and ruined our town. And I know you have too... But if you will not be able to control your anger, I might end up loosing you too, and that's what fears me most." She explained and buried herself at Granger. The young boy felt a pain in the chest as he realized that he wasn't being in his usual self, so he hugged Daisy back and shushed her.
"Don't worry, for I promise you that I will protect you. Even if it costs me my life. I will be by your side and I will never leave you, I will try to move on with you." Because of what she heard, she smiled a bit and looked at him in the eyes. Granger did too.
"Wow! I didn't know that you can be this personal." She changed the topic to make them both happy. But Granger just put on a poker face.
"Tch! Come on! I'm human too you know." He said and pushed Daisy's forehead away from him, making Daisy pout.
"What was that for?" She asked and held her forehead to see if he had put something in there.
"Nothing, just a promise." He said and smiled cheekishly. He stand up and tried to run away.
"Hoy! Where are you going?" She called and Granger just started running.
"Trying to see if you can catch me." The young man said, making her shocked.
"Are you challenging me?" She asked and smiled evilly.
"If that's what you think... Then yes." And because of this, they all ran around the hospital and then went out when some of the nurse told them to be quite. They just laughed this out and went outside, soon forgot about the sad story that they heard earlier. And even if they don't know the place, they just kept on playing tag until they both got tired.
