Chapter 37: Advice for the Better

Third Person

As they both walk outside their doors, no one was seen smiling, nor greeting each other was being heard. They just walked outside and went down silently. Up until they reached the Dining Area where Ban was cooking dinner.

"Did you already washed yourself up?" She asked, not looking back at them.

"Yes, we did." They answered in unison. Their tone was like that of a bored and sad expression, making Ban look at both of them.

"Did something happened?" She asked, but no answer came. "Hmm... Well, let's eat first before talking about your training-"

"What kind of training was that for, oracle?" Daisy asked all of a sudden, making both Ban and Granger look at her. "All I experienced was pure negativity. Mental breakdown was the worst, and why did they call me the Princess of Dusk Empire?! What was all that for? Granger also asked me the same thing." She asked, and Ban was silent for a bit. She didn't know how to answer such question, so she just looked at Daisy and said.

"The only one who can answer that question... Is you, yourself. I don't really know why that had happened, but that might happen in the future, and all you two have experienced is a foretell." Ban explained, making Daisy's reaction turned into horror.

She then stand up to her feet, and without saying anything, left to go inside her room. "Hey! You need to eat first! You can't be starved." Ban tried to stop her, but she didn't listen.

She went inside her room and locked the doors. There, she started crying silently in her bed as she burry herself in the pillows. She couldn't believe even a thing of what she just heard. She being a bad guy? Her being a Princess of Dusk? Her being able to kill someone just for fun?! This is truly not her, so not her. But she felt guilty of it, hearing what Oracle Ban said about foretelling of the training, and what she heard of the Phoenix, she can't just let it slide.

Down in the Dining Area, were Granger and Oracle Ban, silently eating up dinner. They didn't talk about what happened, because no one would want to hear what really happened. Then Ban can't just sat down there and do nothing while the other kid is suffering, so she...

"Why don't you go and talk to her?" She asked and munched food. "Even if you already have doubts yourself, you still need to protect her. She doesn't want to be like that, she doesn't want anything that could harm everyone around her, I can see it in her eyes.

All she needs is assistance, and protection. And no one else can do it except you, because you're the only one who knew her more than we do. You two are now linked together. You're inseparable, because you are a family now. You two are the only one who can trust each other, so please don't break it." She mentioned, but Granger just kept on eating his food and doesn't have any reaction whatsoever. Knowing that she can't do anything anymore, she just sighed and went back to eat. "I hope you won't leave her just because of what you have found out. It is her decision to make in the end anyway." She also said, making Granger look at her with curious eyes.

"I kinda don't know what you're trying to point here." He said silently, so she just smiled at the thought, for he still cares about her.

"When the time comes that she will need to choose between the two empires, it is up to her. No one can say what she will really choose, but I know she will choose what is best for all of us. And the only thing that I want you to do, is to guide her in every way, because you're the second chosen. You have the ability to guide and guard the Phoenix." She said, and although Granger didn't really understand this, he can still get some of her point.

"You have a point though. Aside from that, I am the only family that she has now, so I guess, there is no turning back huh?" He said and ate the last pinch of his food, then he drank the water beside him. "Thank you for opening my eyes oracle. If it wasn't for you, I could've leaved her behind." He said, and felt something painful in his chest, making him sad. He also felt weird as to why he felt that way. But he didn't mention it and just went inside of his room to brush his teeth. After that, he went out of his room again to check on Daisy.

He knocked on the door, but no answer came. He called for her name, but none came. "Daisy, please open the door. We need to talk." He said and knocked several times. "I guess she's asleep?" He said and just thought of going back to his room, when he heard her door creaking.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked in a low and hicky voice, so he turned around and saw her puffy eyes and sad face. Even if she's looking down, he can still see the tears that she kept on wiping away.

Feeling guilty for this, he embraced her and patted her back.

"I'm sorry about earlier... I didn't mean to say it like that, I was just surprised to the point that i've misinterpreted it. But don't worry, because you won't be alone. For I am still here. I will not leave you, ok?" He said and Daisy just nodded at this and embraced back.

"Thank you Granger. For assuring me about everything." She said and smiled.

"From now on... Let's not leave each other behind, ok? Let's keep on moving forward together. One step at a time." He said and looked directly at her eyes, making Daisy nod in agreement. "Because we're family." They both said as if their mind were really linked together.

After that, they both said their goodnights and went back to their rooms with a happy smile. All was well in the house, but little did they know, that someone was not happy about what happened. That someone was unpleased about this.

"You will regret everything, I curse it!" He said and went away when she saw Daisy lying down the bed to sleep.
