Chapter 38: The Unbreakable Decision

As days pass by at Oracle Ban's house, Daisy and Granger both enhanced their abilities together inside the portals everyday. New training awaits them at the other sides of the doors. But the most important thing that they both learned, is to trust each other. Everyday, they kept on building their trust, however, the training also kept on getting harder and harder for them each day, making them accuse each other in the end. But then again...

"You won't fool me again this time, for I know who the real Daisy, and who the fake one is now. So get out of my sight before I punch you right in the face you fuckin' coward." Granger said as he glared at the fake Daisy he was in battle for. But the impostor is just too hardheaded and kept on distracting him. "I warned you already, not once but countless times." He said and before the impostor knew it, he was already behind her and just like a snap of a finger, Granger punched her in the back making her groan in pain and vanished in an instant. "That's what you get for messing with me." He said and just like how his day would end, he would be back traveling inside a portal, then back to where he started, the door towards the main house.

But this time, Daisy was not there to wait for him. Either way, if Daisy was not waiting, they would just walk out of the door simultaneously. But today was different, for she wasn't in both situations. "Is there something wrong?" He asked himself and went to Daisy's portal where he was about to open the door, when Ban stopped him.

"Be cautious young lad! You can't open a portal when someone is still inside, it will ruin everything that is happening in there." She explained, making Granger ashamed. He thought he almost killed her friend. "Just wait for her, everything will be fine." She said before walking away. He on the other hand, leaned to the wall in front of the door where Daisy was, to wait for her

Meanwhile~ inside the portal. Daisy was having a hard time defeating her enemy. This is the hardest one that she have ever experienced since she walked inside the portals. Her archenemy is hard to read, hard to fight for. She doesn't even know where to start.

"HA! Is this the only thing that you can do? Shame on you!" The man who is her enemy said. But she didn't answer this and just gritted her teeth. "If I should've known sooner, I should've just killed you with everyone else." Hearing this words, she can't stop herself anymore.

"Die you piece of shit!" She yelled and as fast as a lightning she goes in front of the man who is now shocked as hell. She quickly kicked him, making him stumble and fall to his knees. "You will regret doing everything that you have done to my family." But alas, a grin was formed in the man's lips.

"Kill me if you can." He said with an evil smile, but she didn't care at all. She just stared angrily at him and said...

"Your wish is my command then." After that, she held the man's head and twisted it like opening a jar. Hearing the cracking of bones, she then let go of the head and the body disappeared. After that, she was taken back to the room.

She went out as fast as she could but was only disappointed when she saw Granger outside waiting for her.

"What kind of expression is that? Did you lost?" Granger ask without an expression, but inside him, feels like he was about to blush for Daisy's cuteness.

"No I didn't, I would've been dead by now. I just hate seeing his face everyday." Daisy answered in a pissed tone.

"Better get used to it if you want to succeed." He explained, and Daisy just nodded as an answer. "Anyway, may I remind you that tomorrow is already the day the Trial of Dawn starts?" He asked and Daisy just looked at him with an unreadable expression. "You forgot, haven't you?" He asked, and when no answer came, he sighed. "Can't you just please, forget about him for now and start thinking about passing the trial?"

"Pass or fail, I will still kill him."

"But you know that if we loose the trial tomorrow, we won't be able to move forward, right?" Hearing his question made her silent. He has a point. If they fail to succeed tomorrow, all will be for nothing.

"Whatever happens tomorrow, ain't my problem, but killing the ones who ruined our lives." She said in a cold and sad voice.

"I agree." He then answered and felt something stab in his chest. Seeing Daisy at this state, makes him feel sad too. And this is what makes it weird for him to understand.

They both went down to the kitchen after cleaning themselves to eat. Daily routine. Then after that, they would go back to their rooms and prepair to sleep. But before doing this, Oracle Ban spoke up.

"You two... I need to discuss something." She said, making the other two sit back down.

"Is something the matter, oracle?" Daisy asked.

"Nothing much... I just want to ask you, if... You know... Do you really want to try the trial tomorrow?" She asked worriedly, making the other two nod as an answer. To be honest, since they lived together for like, how many days already... She got used to them both and she also got attached to them, making her feel like they are her children now. And this made her scared about sending them both to the Trial of Dawn. "When you both enter the trial, there is no turning back. So this is your last chance to change your mind if you want to." She tried to stop them, but she failed.

"You were the one who trained us to become stronger, to be ready for the trial. So we won't let you down, nor disappoint you for it. We will reign victor over all." Daisy answered bravely and when Ban saw her eyes, she knew that she couldn't do anything at all to stop both of them.

"Very well then... Rest yourself up, for you to be ready tomorrow." She said sadly and turned her back away to start washing the dishes, but her expression is glum.

The two may seemed to be innocent about this, but they knew that something was off.

"Did you hear her back then? She was like, stopping us from entering the trial." Daisy asked while they both walk up the stairs.

"You may not have noticed it, but I think she regretted her actions for training us like hell, just for that trial." Granger said, but Daisy knew everything. "I think she wants us to stay and just live a normal life like her now." He said, but Daisy looked at her.

"I don't know why I'm saying this, but... I can't just live a life to the fullest, knowing that the one who killed my family is out there waiting to kill other innocent people again. I can't just let it be... Besides, if I really am the chosen one, which I think I really am... Then this is the chance for everyone to be free from Dusk's empiry." She explained, and knowing that he can't do anything to stop her, he just shut up and didn't talk again, until they both arrived at their rooms.

"See you again tomorrow, I guess?" He asked and Daisy just nodded at this before both entering their rooms, doing their finishing errands and went to bed.

"I just hope that everything will go well tomorrow." Daisy said before closing her eyes to a deep slumber.
