Chapter 54: A Mission

   This chapter will be given to Granger, because I want you all to know what is happening at Dawn Empire, with Daisy being far from her new home.

Granger

Why should I need to talk about my life? It's completely meaningless. I don't even give a shit out of other people, unless necessary. Like, helping and serving the empire. And yes, you read that right. I am now a member of Dawn Empire's cavalry. So instead of staying at Oracle Ban's house, I am now staying at the palace, training to be stronger than yesterday.

About Oracle Ban. She's still staying at her house, sometimes visiting me but is often seen at the carnival, because she is now helping and giving advices to everyone. She used her prowess to see the future of everyone who wants fortune telling.

It has also been a month since... The last time I saw her. I just hope she's doing fine. Cause the last time she left, I felt something wrong in my heart, like I am about to burst for something I don't even know what cause.

As for me, I-

"Hey! Musician kid! Come here! We have an assembly, and you're the only one missing in action." I heard a familiar voice of a man behind me called, making me sigh. There he goes again with the you're-the-only-missing-in-action thingy. I hate it, because everytime he tells me that, I am in a rush to go back to the palace with a disappointment awaiting for me. No one is there except for him and the other upper ranks. "What kind of look is that even, huh? Do you not like to see us upper ranks?" He said in a joking way, but that didn't even made me giggle. So he just looked at me and said. "Ok, ok~ I get it. Never use the same trick more than once. I know I kept on playing with you about that, but it's all for your sake." He said and put his arms on my shoulder like we are some kind of a close pals. He also started to walk, dragging me with him.

Out of all the upper ranks. Why does he have to be the one who always wants to talk to me? He's so childish! Everything about him, really is childish. He always likes to play with me, invite me to eat like it was just nothing. He even taught me how to fight basically. And it's quite cool, cause now I can rely on myself when things go wrong, but the only thing that I hate about him, is the way he moves and the way he talks. He reminds me of someone. Someone special to me.

"What took you so long? This isn't the usual time for you to get here." Said a girl with blades put on her hips.

"You know this kid. Always goes to visit those who are loved by him." Said the man beside me, while I, just keep quiet.

"Nevermind the details. Anyway, the others will not be here. We are the only ones who were called." Said the woman, and that made me curious. Calling the upper ranks? And me? What's this have to do with me?

"Are you sure that I need to be here? I think you've misunderstood something, Marc." I questioned without second thought.

"Yes, you need to be here. The princess ordered so." Zandre said. He is the leader of the upper ranks and the older brother of Sky, the girl who talked to me earlier.

"Why would the princess want me to be here?" I asked again.

"No one knows~" Jade answered with his playful voice again.

Just then, we heard the door open, making us bow with whoever came inside. We knew who it was, so no need to give a cue on what to do.

"Stand up everyone. We don't have much time. We need to hurry and send you all to the Eastern part of Dawn. There have been reports of unknown kidnapping there, and I need you to fix all of it." The king said with a worried expression plastered on his face. "Don't you worry, for I will have the princess to aid you." He said, making everyone surprised.

"But your highness... The princess is-"

"I know the danger that awaits her there. But it is now time for her to experience that things for her best. Also, I know that you will all be there to protect her." He said and then the princess went inside. I was also surprised to see her dressed like an imperial knightess.

"Papa, I'm ready." She said and held a long spear like thing. Behind her, is the queen.

"Are you really sure to do this my dear?" The queen asked with a sad expression.

"I know I can do this mom, I have to. It is my duty." Bold words for her to say such things, even though this is her first time going out of the palace.

Anyway, it didn't took us too much time before leaving the palace and set forth to our journey towards Eastern Dawn. Good thing it's not far like Northern Dawn, but still needs time to get there.

While on our way. Zandre already gave us instructions on what to do when we arrive. This is what I like in him. He is always ready to give his commands and always puts the others first before his own.

"But leader, won't it be a little more dangerous if we walk straight and attack? They might have held some hostages. So I suggest we do the blend and attack strategy." The princess said, making us all silent. She has a point though. Zandre said to attack when we arrive to surprise the enemies. But he forgot one thing... We don't know who we're dealing up with.

"Thank you for your suggestion, your majesty. That's what we are going to do. Be ready everyone, and before we enter the village, let us change something more... Blendy." He said and think of something.

"Oh! Oh! I know!" We saw Jade looking for something inside his bag and when he was already done, he... "Tada!" He showed us some clothes. Some descent ones but enough to blend in.

"Are you sure about that Jade? They might find out earlier than we expected." Sky said, making Jade laugh like he heard the most funniest joke.

"I promise it won't... Unless you're a bad performer." Jade then answered making us all look with each other in confusion. "Let's all get changed fellas, cause things will get interesting." He gave one cloth each for us to wear and told us to ready ourselves for what we are going to do.

"I just hope this works well, I don't want anyone dying in front of me." Marc half laughingly said. "You guys have your gears?" We each showed our weapons to him as we try to change our clothes. The princess and Sky changed inside the inner part of the carriage, while we boys changed outside, obviously.

I was also hoping to get this job done as soon as possible, and to get back home. I also don't want anyone dying in this mission, so I hope that whoever our enemies are, are weaklings.
