Chapter 61: King is Dead

Everything that is happening right now is very unbelievable. Earlier, we were all having fun after my promotion, but now, the empire have been breached! And what's worse... Duskians are all over the place, killing everyone in sight. All that is left now are the people inside the palace and those innocent ones who've been saved by the other elites.

"Merci! Why don't you kill me right now?" I heard a voice of an old man sounded like he was teasing the king.

"Dell! I can't believe you did this?! You traitor!" General Frost was the one to answer in an angry voice.

"Oh? Look at you general, still serving the empire at that age of yours? How many years have it been already huh? Thirty? forty?" That Dell said, and by the crown he is wearing, he must be the king of Dusk Empire.

"Why did you do this, Dell? What did we do to deserve this?" The king asked with a low tone, but judging from it. He is mad.

"You asked that kind of question?! HAHA! You're hilarious!" King Dell laughed sarcastically. "Let me tell you why then... All of this, all of the things are the reasons why...

Everytime Aurora's crystal picks someone worthy, it's always been the Dawnian, you're always the one to be hailed, honored. And what about us? All of the other kingdom may agree with it if they want, but Dusk? I'd rather see all of you dead!" King of Dusk said with an angry tone.

"That's your reason? Why so shallow? Did you not heard what the crystal said? Only those who are strong enough and worthy of the power are the only ones who could be chosen by the phoenix." King Merci explained. "The reason why the phoenix doesn't choose you, it's not because of being weak. You are all strong, all of us are, but your heart is only filled with hatred and anger, that is why Aurora's crystal never choses you."

"Don't you dare lecture me with nonsense things, you imbecile! I don't give a shit for that kind of things!" Dell shouted and attacked without second thought, and before anyone could even move, there they were, our king, standing behind the palace guards, with General Frost in front of them, a sword in his gut, while spears passed through the King of Dusk's cloth.

They both caughed blood and both weapons have flowing bloods in it. I closed my eyes at the sight and turned around after seeing Zandre rushing towards his father with Sky.

I continued killing our enemies until I heard someone shouting from a distant.

"How dare you do that to my father!" That voice boomed all around the area with the lightning and thunder roaring with him. "I will kill you all!" He shouted and he casted his magic towards everyone who got knocked out and left standing are the two elites and the king behind them. The reason for their survival was Zandre's shield.

"Your father killed our father! That makes us equal!" Zandre was angry with his words.

"I don't fucking care even if all of you dies!" The enemy said and with one loud stomp on his feet, vines crept from Zandre and Sky's toes towards their knees, locking their movements. "Just die!" He shouted and with a loud roaring of the thunder, shouted the siblings with hurt. That thorns must hurt. "So noisy!" That demon didn't even showed any mercy and knocked out both the elites.

I was busy killing the others and watching what was happening to them, that I only walked towards there place after I realized that no one was there for the king.

"Sound of Death!" I casted and a music of pitch G can be heard upon blasting my bullet out of the gun. But with just a raise of his hand, my bullet stopped and turned into dust.

This must be the power of someone related to the king!

I thought and made my way to aid the king.

"Don't you dare try to hurt our king!" I threatened him while looking with deadly glare.

"Or what?" He smiled evilly, and faced his palm right at me. "If you want to, then go first." He said and black smoke started to come out in his palm and when they reached me, it felt horrible. My breath went uneasy, like, he was controlling it. I couldn't breath any longer, I was grasping for air. I couldn't hold my gun right.

"Damian?" I heard the king called out someone's name, and when I saw his expression, I was shocked to see his tears started to fall from his eyes. "My son... Is that really you?" He asked and it's a  good thing he did, because that man loosen his grip at me, making me breath deeply to get some air.

"How did you know my name? Your highness?" He asked mimickly.

"Damian! It's you!" The king said and ran towards the enemy. I tried to stop him by grabbing his cloak, but I was busy breathing heavily, that it escaped my hand. "I thought you died, we thought we'd never see you again! After all these years! You... Dell was the one who kidnapped you!" The king said while looking at the face of Damian. I was not really sure of what he is saying, but I think he is referring to Damian as his lost son?

Ok, hold up a second! Did the king lost his mind?! Or is he just pretending to be crazy to escape this madness?

"What are you talking about, you old fag! Let me go!" Damian pushed the king away, making him loose his balance.

"Your highness!" I quickly went to his aid to help him. But his reaction was sad and he kept on crying.

"(sigh) You wouldn't remember it, I know... You were only one year old when you were kidnapped from us." The king started to talk, making us two surprised. "It was 20 years ago, when you've been robbed from us by Dell. It was the happiest day of our life, but also the darkiest. You were born healthy and complete that everyone rejoiced by the news.

On your first birthday we celebrated the whole day, until eleventh of the night. But as we were all quietly sleeping... Dell sneaked through the room and kidnapped you without a valid reason, and ever since, we never found you again." He told, making Damian surprised while listening. "We have searched far and wide to see you, but it was only until today when we found out that Dell was the one responsible for your loss. I never thought that you'd be living in hell all those years, I'm really sorry for that, my son." He wiped his tears and walked towards Damian. "Welcome back, my son." He said, but after saying those words, we heard a loud explosion right at the palace where the princess and the queen was kept hiding.
