Arrest and Suspicion

Early in the morning of October 19, Dina got a call from Julia. "Dina, help! Alexis got arrested because they think he is the serial killer from a month ago!" "What?! Ok, calm down first, I'll see what I can do." After all, Dina was a law student and she knew how these things worked.

On her way to the police station, Dina called them and told them she was a witness of the case so they would let her in. When she got there, a police officer was waiting for her and she was escorted to the interrogation room. There, she told them everything she knew, since Alexis wasn't the killer.

"May I get to speak with Alexis Junes now? I have something to tell him." The police officer looked hesitant but brought him anyway. "The only way you can speak to him is if I'm here," he said. "That's okay, sir. Alexis, I know you didn't do it, since you're not the type of person to do this. So I'm going to get you out of here." He smiled and nodded. After she left the police station, Dina gritted her teeth. 'How dare they treat her best friend like that with no evidence.'

On November 13, Alexis got his trial; and with Dina's testimony, they let him go. "Thank you so much for your help Dina," Alexis was beyond grateful because the day before he thought he was doomed to rot in jail. "No need to thank me, and besides, did I lie?" "Haha, you're right! By the way, what did I miss in class? It's been almost 3 weeks since I've been there and I know I'm behind a lot." Dina patted Alexis' head and said in a grave tone, "You have suffered my child." "Oh, stop playing around!" "Ahahahaha, I'm just playing. I wrote down all the stuff you need to do." "Aww, you're the best!" "Of course I am, hmph."

"By the way, Dina. How did you have so much evidence and were able to convince the judge that I didn't do it?" Dina just chuckled and replied with, "You're my best friend. I know you would never do such a thing. Now if I were angry, maybe I would, hahaha. Just kidding." I mean, anything is possible. But she couldn't say that outloud.

"The person who was arrested for the murder of the nineteen men in the drugstore was proved to be not guilty and police are still looking for the culprit behing the murder. Please beware of your surroundings and if you find anything suspicious please report to the police. Going onto the weather repor-" Dina shut off the television and sighed. How incompetent could they be. It's been a week since Alexis was proved not guilty and the authorities had done nothing. "Alright! It's time to go get an education."

"Dinaaaa!! How are you girl!!" Always just as loud, wasn't she. "Hey, Julia," Dina chuckled. "Hey girls," Alexis arrived at the seemingly very loud scene. "Let's go to the cafe near the school today, yea?" "One of the few times our dear little Alex invites us to do something, wow! Of course we're going!" Julia kept teasing Alexis while Dina stood in the back and shook her head. "Alright guys, I'll see you later. I'm gonna head to class." *ding*

-Let's meet at 5:00 p.m. in the usual place.

-ok

It was 4:40 p.m. and Dina was in the cafe with Alexis and Julia. "Umm guys… sorry but I need to go." "Alright, is everything okay?" the always-concerned Alexis asked. Dina only nodded and left. "Let's follow her, shall we?" Julia wiggled her eyebrows and said. Alexis insisted that was a breach of privacy but could only sigh and follow when Julia was not listening.

A right, another right, a left. Alley after alley, Dina turned many corners. Alexis was extremely confused as to where she was going. It seemed a really dangerous part of the city too. They stopped when Dina entered an abandoned warehouse. "Alright, let's follow her in." This time Alexis was very curious and worried for Dina and did not refuse.

Dina entered the warehouse, where there was a table and two chairs. The place was incredibly dirty and full of clutter. They saw Dina sit down but no one was there other than her. After a little while, Julia walked out and sat down in the chair in front of Dina. Alexis fixed her gaze on Dina and whispered to Julia, "Hey, should we go help her?" No response. "Julia?" Nothing. Alexis turned his head and Julia was gone. How? What the hell.

"Alexis, come on out of there."

Such a familiar voice.
