[2] The Forest

After settling in at a hotel Bella took him out to explore, they went to many different restaurants but his appetite was ruined by her, he only want spicy ramen and apple juice. Bella could only chuckle at him but she went along with his demands, the chef was confused but when she promised to let him try it to he handed over the kitchen to her.

After a great lunch it was finally time to go looking for what we were here for, luckily the chef knew what we were talking about and sent us in the right direction. It was someone who was living in the mountains who was cross-breeding peppers to make the spicier, Kane was excited and for the first time in a couple of days he smiled a little.

They grabbed a car and took off, even though they would only be able to be taken to the base of the mountain someone else was going to lead us from there. Along the way Kane took something out of his bag that he was tinkering with, sometime last summer he got into electronics but thought something was lacking in the modern ones.

At the moment he was working on a better cell phone so he wouldn't have to hold a brick to his head every time he made a call on Bella's, it was a bit bigger than his palm and had a screen on it. The only problems he was having at the moment was getting it connected to a cell tower, he refused to sell his designs for the simple fact that he wasn't going to.

After awhile they came to a stop and made it to the base of the mountain, there was a sign there telling them different directions, the one to the pepper man had someone waiting. He got a lot of visitors in the past months so he set up this system so that he would know when someone is there and they wouldn't have an accident while going up the mountain.

"Hello can you please take us to see him?" Bella spoke to the man in broken Albanian, she had been learning it recently for this trip she started when she learned of the pepper. The man smile and nodded, Kane guessed he didn't want to say anything since he could tell that they wouldn't really understand him well if he spoke to fast.

"Oh my gosh Kane! This is so exciting if we can get some of those peppers then I am sure I can make the Ramen even better." Bella said while swinging his arm, Kane hearing her drooled a little before getting himself back together, Ramen his one weakness. Bella giggled at his cute expression before taking in the scenery.

Kane was also looking around but he was frowning, to their left was a hazy part of his sight even with the magic running through his head it was fuzzy for him to see. If he got a chance to escape from Bella's constant watching then he would take the chance to slip off and see what was inside of there.

His wish did end up coming true twenty minutes later when they reached the place the man was staying, luckily his English was good so they were able to talk. "Bella I am going outside for awhile." Kane said standing since he was getting bored of the pepper talk, he was about eating not listening.

"Oh okay but stay safe and don't go to far." She said after pausing their conversation looking at him like a concerned mother, Kane nodded kissed her cheek and left.

When he went outside he didn't wait before going straight to the left side was where the hazy forest was, walking for awhile he looked back and realized that he entered without knowing. All around him was a dead forest, well it felt dead, in reality the place was teaming with wild life and plants there were some that Kane didn't even recognize.

After walking awhile he didn't see anything different about this place from other forest, until he came up to something that made him frown but he was really intrigued. It was a ghastly figure that was swaying in the wind, in front of the figure was a snake that seemed to be hissing at it, the figure though was nodding at what it was saying.

As he got closer he heard, "Yes I promise, if you follow me you will live the full life you were meant to and I will cure you of this disease you have." the ghost said, the snake hissed again and it's eyes went straight to Kane who had stepped on a branch. The figure turned and a bloodthirsty smile took over it's face, "What great timing seems I found a vessel."

Kane looked into his eyes and gasped he recognized this figure, before he could say something his head was experiencing pain but it only lasted seconds before it went away making him pant. The figure, no Voldemort was frowning looking at Kane in great anger, "Boy what have you done?! Why can I no enter your head."

Kane looked a him weirdly not knowing that Voldemort's power backfired on himself and Kane gained from it, "Your Voldemort."

It was Voldemort's turn to be surprised, "You know of me boy?"

"Why wouldn't I... You killed my family but you died that night." Kane figured he didn't need to hide anything seeing as he tried something already and it hadn't worked he felt safer.

Voldemort's face was full of surprise before a grin took over, "The Potters so you are the brat that they are saying killed me... HAHAHA my luck must be amazing for you to come and offer yourself to me. Nagini kill this kid and I will honor our deal."

"Make they vow first or I will not move." Kane was the one surprised now instead of hissing he could clearly hear that snake talking perfect English. Voldemort clicked his tongue before looking back to Kane he couldn't keep his promise because he didn't have a cure.

"Ahh before you kill me can I say something first?" Seeing them both turned to him Kane talked a little more, "Well first I am not the one they are talking about I am his twin but my last name is Evans so it is pointless to kill me, I haven't even seen him in years, second how is that snake talking?"

"You hear me?" Nagini said slithering over to him.

"Umm yeah."

"Well looks as though you are also a Parseltongue." Nagini said coming up to him, she was a twelve foot long green snake with piercing yellow eyes. She circled around Kane then spoke to him, "What do you mean he killed your family boy."

Voldemort could only hang back and watch he didn't have the power to do anything to either of them at the moment, "Well he is known as another Dark Lord or that is something that I remember at least, more than that he is a blood supremacist. I don't know what he promised you but you won't be getting it if you aren't a pure blood."

Nagini was surprised and whipped to look at Voldemort who had nothing to say since the truth was that he was just going to use her then throw her away when he was done. He only intended to make he a Horcrux and help his life extend longer nothing more or less.

Seeing that he wasn't speaking she hiss/growled at him then turned back to Kane, "What about you boy? What are you doing in these woods?"

Kane tilted his head and looked at her, "Well I a just here to visit someone about peppers but the reason that I came here is because there was a haze protecting this area so I thought I would have a look."

Nagini didn't see any lies in his eyes and nodded her head, "Alright then boy I will follow you." she then shrunk down and slithered up his arm rest her head on his shoulder.

"Umm if you don't mind me asking but.... why?" he said looking over at her.

"I want too." was all she said not telling him about the offer that Voldemort just gave her since she no longer trusted him she didn't care anymore. Kane shrugged and walked over to a plant that he had been eye secretly, it was a blue herb that was shinning a little with pink dots on it.

"What is this?" he asked ignoring Voldemort who looked like he didn't know what to do.

"WHAT LUCK IS THIS!!!" Nagini hissed from his shoulder looking at the plant that he was staring at Kane raised a brow at her, "This is something you must eat at all cost, it is called the Beginners Guide, it is a plant that is extinct this is probably the only known one alive at the moment."

"Oh what does it do?" Kane asked poking it more instead of picking it.

"This is something that is only in legends since it hasn't been seen since the 1200's but it is a flower that should be taken by children who haven't had their first magical growth. That happens when you turn eleven because if it is eaten before then it is certain that your magical will double after the first growth." Nagini said in his ear while staring at the plant wide eyed, Voldemort was the same.

"Oh." Kane plucked it and swallowed it after hearing that, he only did it though to help his magic increase his brain activity. He realized that the more his magic went through his head the more it made his intelligence grow along with his other senses so he kept doing it.

The other two looked at him wide eyed, it was meant to be boiled down before eating though it was helpful both ways it was never really successful when it wasn't boiled. Meaning that most who ate it the way he did died from the excessive magic that gathered in their small cores, at least boiling it diluted it a little.

"Well then goodbye Mr. Mort but I need to get back before someone gets worried, happy haunting." Kane didn't take him seriously at all and walked off with Nagini watching Kane for signs of stress.

When they made it back up the hill that he went down he was right about Bella worrying since when he saw her she was crying while frantically wringing her hands. "Bella." Kane called walking to her.

Bella hearing his voice looked up and like lightning moved over to hug him tightly squeezing him and Nagini she didn't even notice that Nagini was currently on his shoulder. "Where were you?! Do you know how worried I was?!!" she said pulling back her eyes red from the crying her voice was also hoarse like she had been yelling.

"Ahh sorry about that Bella. I guess I walked to far away and ended up making you scared I'm sorry." Kane wrapped his arms around her neck and patted her back she hugged him close too.

"Next time don't go so far, I can't lose you." she said quietly.

He nodded still patting her, "Who is this woman? Better yet what is your name boy I can't keep calling you boy? Also why does it look at though someone has cut her wrist? And can you make her stop hugging so hard it hurts me too since I and wrapped on your arm." Nagini hissed from his shoulder.

Bella hearing the hissing looked up and her eyes went wide before she oved away screaming, "S-SS-SNAKE!!! KANE QUICKLY PUT THAT DOWN BEFORE IT HURTS YOU!!!"

Kane just looked at her and smiled a little, "This is Bella she is like a sister/mother to me. My name is Kane Evans but just call me Kane. She had something happen in the past that made her want to.... well let's leave it at that..."

Bella was looking at him wide eyed since all she heard was hissing but she saw that the snake was nodding along before looking at her and nodding, "Kane can that thing understand you?"

"She is not a thing she is Nagini and yes she can." Kane never bothered to hide magic from Bella, though that was mainly cause he knew the rules but another aspect was cause she was the closest person to him.
