Normalcy

Stepping into the Logan International Airport terminal, a young woman, seemingly in her early twenties, walked through the crowds of people towards the baggage claim while rolling a small suitcase around her. She had straight black hair, a nice light brown skin color, and a smile that could make you get lost in thought about it, also an hourglass type body that attracts all men.

What made her more attractive, as she walked through the terminal, was the fact that she was wearing a business casual jacket that with a skirt that reached just above her knees. The fabric of the clothes outlined her assets very well, causing men in the airport to have to look twice at her as she passed by. Though this was a bit creepy, the young woman understood she was blessed genetically and as this was a fairly normal occurrence for her, she ignored most of it as she took a selfie while walking to the baggage claim.

After claiming her larger suit case, the young woman left in a rental car. She could had used one of the popular ride service apps but as the drivers always tried to converse with her, even when she kept her replies short and sweet, she soon grew tired of it.

After an hour or so of driving she arrived at a high rated hotel and checked in before dropping off her bags. She was currently going to her new job to meet her boss before starting the following day. She has graduated university a few months prior so as a nursing major and with her extremely high gpa of 4.2 was offered a starting job assisting the head doctor in the hospital.

As she was able to go to grad school, she decided to take the job offer while completing her classes online. Luckily she had a few months to relax and work since she has graduated a month prior. Her parents also helped get to Boston so with their support getting her here, she ate a quick lunch before making her way to the hospital.

As she entered and asked for assistance at the front desk, she was asked to wait as the attendant at the front desk paged the head doctor. Waiting a few minutes, the young woman took a few more selfies before posting them on her social media, she then saw a video about the president's recent request but after looking at it for a moment she turned off the screen to her phone.

"Are you Rose?" A kind voice brought the young woman's focus off her phone and to the front desk. There, a woman in her mid thirties, with straight brown hair and a kind smile was looking at her, in a white doctors jacket or lab coat, while holding a clipboard in her hand.

"Yes, I am!" The young woman said quickly as she stood up and looked at the woman who had called her name.

"Follow me, I have a few more patients to check on but we can talk in my office after that." She said as she motioned her to follow. Quickly stepping behind the motherly doctor, the two woman walked around the hospital as the older woman checked a few patients for any abnormalities in their recovery but as she had predicted, nothing happened over night.

Taking the young woman, Rose, into her office on a higher floor of the hospital, the older woman sat at her desk as the young woman sat across from her. With a simple compliment on the young woman's beauty, a short explanation of the various things she will do as her assistant, and a pager for serious incidents, the older woman finally reclined back in her seat as Rose smiled at her.

"My name is Angela Wayne by the way, if you have any questions, please ask them right now but don't hesitate to ask anything another time, they will always be answered unless the situation is critical and requires my complete focus." The older woman, Angela, said as she looked at the framed photo on the side of her desk.

"Doctor Wayne, are there procedures for when strains or kings are being treated here?" Rose asked, surprising Angela a bit.

"Well there are a few new procedures, they are placed into a special ward built a few days ago on the side of the hospital and we have to contact the military so they can keep watch over them, if they decide to do something dangerous then we can lock down that ward and let the military handle it." Angela said as she remembered the focus of all the rules those procedures created.

"Then what about if a king or strain wanted to work here? What if they gain an ability that is helpful and want to assist injured people by getting a job here?" Rose also asked excitedly.

"Well... we would still have to contact the military but if their ability is helpful and they want to help, then they can still get a job here. The military has a small group of people coming here to stay in the hospital and monitor any strains or kings that come here in the future so if you have questions specifically for them then I can introduce you when they arrive.

"I see..." Rose said as she began fidgeting with her fingers before she asked her final question. "What if I were one of those kings or strains?" She said as her words trailed off on the end.

"Well this king and strain business only started a about a week ago right? You will still be qualified to work here and if you were one of these super powered individuals and you wanted to use your ability to help others then why turn you away?" Angela said with a kind smile as the young lady across from her looked into her eyes as if seeing a light in the darkness.

"Then... I can still work here even with powers?" She asked trying to get confirmation that powers won't effect her ability to get the job.

"You were already qualified and you completed the interview. Young lady, what point in there is turning you away?" Angela said as she leaned toward against her desk. "With how you ask these questions it seems like you are one of these super powered individuals." she said with a light laugh while thinking of the possibility of meeting someone within the less than 0.01 percent of people that gained powers from Pandora's box.

"Well...." Rose began to say something but ultimately decided a visual representation was better. Slowly raising her hand out to Angela, she let a pink aura surface on her body as her pupils turned pink. Angela herself was shocked by the sight but also very intrigued.

"I'm one of Pandora's Kings... the pink king more specifically... my power isn't harmful at all, I am more of a video game healer it seems, I've only experimented with small cuts and bruises but using my power healed those injuries in seconds..." Rose said as she retracted the aura into her body. She had limited the output of her power to not manifest her throne above the hospital and cause a panic.

"I do also have the superhuman strength and speed but I've learned to control my power well enough to live normally again... my parents also know of my powers but they believe that it's a blessing rather than a curse." She said as she smiled and looked down at her hands.

"Can you not tell the military about me? I don't want to be forced out of my normal life..." She asked quietly as she began to fidget with her fingers once again.

AN: This it the final king that will be revealed like this. The rest will have arcs dedicated to them.
