The roar shook Zaneth and the bandits to the core, their instincts scream at them with one word.
RUN.
"EEeeek!! Nooo! It's the Necromancer, Wulnus! He's returned!" Zaneth ran away with his tail between his legs while he is screaming Wulnus. The bandits soon followed suit, filled with panic.
Ah, I remember that name. He is in the deepest floor of the Blackslate Cemetery. He is a Level 70 Lesser Lich who can perform Necromancy. He also has the ability to convert his enemies to his undead army if he were to kill them directly.
One time I brought him to my team, I evolved him to a level 500 Archlich where he alone can destroy cities and threaten kingdoms. If given time, he could be a continental or multi-continental threat that empires there must combine forces.
The problem I have now is that place is in a different kingdom called Felexin, which is north of Noltia and separated by a river. I could cross there, but a city named Toris has knights stationed there.
Travelling along with all my monsters won't be feasible where some could stick out like a sore thumb. I'll worry about Wulnus later, I have to put this big cat in his place.
"WROOOOOAAARGH!!!"
"UWOOOOOOOHH!!!"
Mirtis and the other Death Knights roared at the fleeing bandit army to further degrade the enemy's morale. Some ran, some came straight at us in desperation, and some even stood there wallowing in regret.
Mirtis and the other Death Knights continue to massacre the bandits who could not run away. They pierce, cleave, and crush the bandits mercilessly while the poor bandits swing desperately.
"Necromancy." I said.
[50 corpses found. 500,000 EP for reanimation.]
"Arise." I commanded.
[Acknowledged, now reanimating...]
[Complete, you currently have 370 skeletons.]
"Wroooh!" Mirtis grunted at me and points to a direction in the diverging cave tunnels.
"Are you showing me where Zaneth is headed?" I asked.
"Raaah!" Mirtis nodded, grunting in agreement.
"Lead the way." I said.
Mirtis walked ahead where Zaneth is heading along with some of his bandits. It's good to have multiple paths inside the cave, but when someone or something is out to get you and is too strong, you gotta have a back door.
{Meanwhile...}
Zaneth ran with fear in his eyes, he began racking his brain on how Wulnus is alive as Death Knights were an indicator of him nearby. But he is stronger now, stronger than before and has a trump card in case of situations he is cornered.
Zaneth opens the cage behind his large chair and began unlocking the chains that binds some kind of being.
A being walked out of the cage and lets out a low growl. It had a black mane with gray stripes, gold eyes and black fur. Zaneth smiled as thought his victory is assured.
"Yes...as long as he is underestimating me, we will win. Once Wulnus is dead, my nightmare would be over." Zaneth said, giving a wicked smile with hints of desperation.
He then looks back as the battle is getting closer, the bandits tried to slow it down, but they began to retreat to where Zaneth is standing.
"Boss, the Death Knights are too strong!" one of the bandits yelled as the rest came in.
"You've done enough." Zaneth said.
"Is that a Black Lion?"
"Yes, with this beast, the undead doesn't stand a chance, especially the Death Knights."
{Now...}
I continue to move further in the tunnel where Mirtis pointed where Zaneth is located. With the amount of skeletons and some Death Knights, I can't guarantee a victory since Zaneth is Rank U. Since he is shaking in his boots, it'll be easier
We finally meet Zaneth and his separated bandits. Then I see a large black beast that is around the size of Santrasa. That beast has a black mane with gray stripes in it and gold eyes. Wait...Black with gray?
"System, check that lion's stats."
[Checking...completed.]
[Attention, this monster has went through mutation.]
So it's not a Black Lion, but a Dimlight Lion!? So it mutated like Santrasa. Usually, Black Lions have Dark Magic and is very strong, but slow. It's also weak to Light Magic.
Now that he mutated to Dimlight Lion, that weakness is nullified and can use Light Magic. He'll be a problem to my army if I drag this out, especially Zaneth.
"Kain, I can see the Noltian banner flags and torches." Arex said telepathically. "It seems they have witnessed"
"Good, then they're getting close." I replied. I then went to the system for a reminder.
"System, when the army arriving?"
[20 minutes until arrival.]
"Arex, use your Light Magic to attract the armies." I commanded.
Arex nodded and used her magic to create a ball of light, she then tosses it into the dark clouds.
*BA-SHIIIIING!!*
The ball of light exploded, splitting the clouds apart. That light shines so brightly, that it could turn a dark night into a bright sunny day.
{Earlier....}
The Noltian Army began marching through the forest, 750 knights and 250 mages. Here lies a king and a caped knight walking towards an opening and sees the aftermath of what it was a bandit camp.
Tents destroyed and torn, a watchtower demolished, and corpses litter the ground with bite marks, claw marks, and exposed entrails. The insects feast upon the dead as thanks to whatever being killed them and left them there to the scavengers.
The few knights ran towards the aftermath and investigate. What they saw is that same red claw marks on a certain orc bandit.
"The Red Claw Bandits, they were near Nolten Village." one of the knights said.
"It is the Red Claws, isn't it? Just as I thought." said the caped knight.
"To think these bandits were this close to the village along the fact Alphonse funded them. The villagers would've been killed and we'd be none the wiser." the king said, lamenting at his own ignorance.
"Worst-case scenario would be that we'd go into war. Since that letter came from the Ergex territory, we're aware of the situation." the caped knight said. "Everyone resume march!"
{Later...}
Night falls on the Noltian knights as they were walking through the forest in the rain. Many footsteps splash on the puddles and mud. Thunder roars throughout the blackened sky as the lightning flickers in the dark steel clouds.
It was at this moment a voice came out.
"Look at the sky!" yelled one of the mages. The other mages look and see a bright light, a light that is bright and constant unlike any lightning strikes.
"Is this some kind of powerful Light Magic?"
"Wait, I see a hint of silver!" one of the mages said and his eyes widened with shock. "My god, it's a Heavenkin!"
"A hint of silver? Are you saying that an Archangel has entered the Material Realm?" the caped knight said.
"Yes, it's an Archangel." the mage said.
The army clamored in shock upon hearing the mage's confirmation. The king also was shocked upon hearing it as well since he rarely ever seen an Angel in person. But an Archangel being sighted is even rarer.
The light in the distance soon faded away and the sky became dark again.
"We must get to Valtuz before things get complicated, we don't know the reason for an Archangel descending, but in worst-case scenario, it could be a warning of The Revealing." the king said, fearing the worst.
{Meanwhile...}
In the gradual descent of the trail inside the Ergexian army happened to see a bright light in the distance.
"Look! A Heavenkin is descending!" one knight yelled as he points at the light in the distance, the 600 knights, 100 archers, and 300 mages look at the sky and became concerned at the sight of it.
"That light...is silver. It can't be."
"An Archangel has descended! How is this possible!?"
"It could mean a strong Hellkin is around here."
The army voices concerns as the Archangel has descended in this realm and does not know what will it do.
"It could mean two things. A Hellkin is present or the bandits have either attacked or killed a Celestine. Either way, our we must hurry before things get complicated." the Ergexian king said. "Continue march! We must prevent a bigger conflict from happening!"
{Now...}
Back in the cave, I am facing a handful of bandits, Zaneth, and a Dimlight Lion. I have to get the Dimlight Lion on my side. But since the armies are heading this way, I better wrap this up.
I began to use my Tier II Dark Magic, Black Mist to obscure ourselves and the light sources around the bandits, turning the cave dark.
"Eeek!" The bandits yelped in fear of the sudden darkness. The next moment, a swarm of glowing eyes appeared in the darkness.
"Attack, my skeletons." I said and the skeletons began rushing in with murderous intent.
*ROOAAAR!!*
*BZZWING!*
The Dimlight Lion roared and fired a beam of light at my army. I fired my Light Magic too.
*BOOM!!*
An explosion of light dissipates the Black Mist and bones were being scattered.
[Attention. 10 Skeletons has been defeated.]
[Reanimating...]
Light Magic damages undead big time, but I can reanimate them as long as they're not hit with Holy Magic.
"CHARGE!" Zaneth roared, the bandits roared as well, thinking they have a chance.
"Go, get Zaneth, Mirtis" I said to him. Mirtis' eyes flashed.
"WROOOOOAARGH!!" Mirtis roared and began charging too. His sights are at Mirtis as his target to kill. When things get dicey, I'll have my "Cerberus" to jump in and finish the job.
