"Kill them all." I said. With my order, Mirtis stood up and began walking towards the rock wall. The skeletons in front of him stepped aside, acknowledging that there is a stronger existence among them.
Mirtis puts the normal spear behind him and places his right hand out.
*Crack!*
*Snap!*
*Crumble!*
Sounds of bones being broken and rearranged are heard along with the rain. After a short moment, I get to see a weapon similar to a sledgehammer. The spinal cord is shaped into a shaft for the sledgehammer and the skull, the entire skull has been shaped into a hammer head where the eyes, teeth, and nose are also present.
Mirtis pulls back his hammer and makes a full swing at the rock wall.
*BOOOM!!*
*CRUMBLE!!*
*CRASH!!*
The wall that was 12 feet tall which stretched for a football field wide and 1 foot thick. Mirtis destroyed it instantly with one swing, reduced to rubble.
The female mage that erected that wall, her face became pale and is getting cold sweats.
"No way..." she gasped, "It was my best defense spells and that thing..." her body began to shake at the sight of Mirtis and the skeleton army advancing towards them along with the shadow hounds.
"What the hell...Is that a Death Knight!? That six-eyed freak summoned a Death Knight!?"
"That Heavenkin...it wasn't lying..."
"Are you implying that this mountain was a grave site!? I didn't see any tombstones or caskets!"
"We need to let Zaneth know..."
The bandits began to panic and slowly stepping backwards. Mitris and his army kept advancing and suddenly stopped.
Mirtis gazes upon the quivering bandits, but not from the cold rain that batter them. But the fear of death With one short moment of pause that felt like hours...
*KRAK-BOOM!!*
The flash of lightning and the booming thunder breaks the silence in the rain and Mirtis' blue eyes turned red.
"WROOOOOOOAAAAARRRGH!!!" Mirtis roared at the army, roaring for war, blood, and destruction. The air shook, the thunder becoming a whisper, and the bandits quiver helplessly at the sight of the undead army.
The Skeletons and the Shadow Clones rushed towards the army of bandits with their eyes also red for blood.
[New Unique Skill acquired for Mirtis. Commander.]
[Notice, all Skeletons have risen to Rank F+.]
"S-Stone Spear!"
"Ice Lance!"
"Thunder Wave!"
The magic bombard against Mirtis as he is at the forefront of his army. However, that magic did very little against him. He changes his bone hammer into a one handed sword and takes out his spear.
"No way, just how resilient is that thing!?"
"Run! Get to Zaneth--"
Before one of the bandits finish his sentence, Mirtis swings his sword.
*SLASH!*
The bandit was bisected horizontally, cut in half in one swing despite wearing heavy leather armor and yet Mirtis' sword cut it like it was wet paper. The bandit's upper body was flung aside, painting the rain red.
"AAARRRGH!!"
"HELP!! WE NEED--Aaaagh!!"
"EEEEK!! Stay back! Don't kill me!"
*SLASH!!*
*SLICE!!*
*CRUNCH!*
Mirtis and the army rushes down the cave entrance and began killing more bandits. The bandits inside see the incoming skeleton army. I followed them to bring in more skeletons.
[90 corpses detected. 10,000 EP per corpse reanimation.]
"Arise, my Skeletons." I said.
[Acknowledged. 900,000 EP deducted. Now reanimating...]
With this, skeletons began to rise by the dozens and become bigger threats to the bandits.
Meanwhile, a bandit who is walking to the center path of the cave, he sees a tall skeleton wearing armor is running towards the cave. What is behind him is a army of skeletons following the larger skeleton.
"Oh shit, it's the undead army!" the bandit yelled. "It's an army of skeletons!"
"Is that a Death Knight!? What Necromancer did we piss off!?"
"Everyone, use magic to stop the army!"
"WROOOOAAAARRGH!!" Mirtis roared at the entrance, his roar echoed through the cave, making sure a vast majority of the bandits hear it. Their end is nigh.
"It's a Death Knight!!"
"RUUUNN!!"
"Where to!? That over there is the only entrance!"
Panic ensues. They scramble to fight the undead, the undead and the shadow hounds massacre the bandits by the dozens. Even if the bandits manage to defeat a skeleton or a hound, it'll just come back for more.
Because that "Cerberus" is the one responsible. And yet little did they know that it was me all along. Also, Zaneth has a severe trauma where a certain Necromancer summoned a Death Knight and killed his friends brutally.
Meanwhile, Zaneth hears the roar reverberating throughout the caves, causing his ears to twitch.
*Grrr!*
A beast growls restlessly behind Zaneth as the rumbling, the screams, and the roar echoed through the cave.
"Boss! Big trouble!" a bandit yelled.
"Is it that human kid again?" Zaneth said.
"Worse! It's an undead army!" the bandit answered.
"How can there be skeletons around here? We're nowhere near Night Horn Wastelands. No matter, I'll settle this." Zaneth stood up and grabs his sword and walks towards the center cave tunnel.
{Meanwhile...}
[Notice, 1050 hostiles remain.]
[You currently have 170 skeletons.]
My goodness, I should've done this while I was killing the mercenary army or that one bandit camp where Taudera was held. Time to push more of the army. I used more Necromancy in the cave.
[150 corpses detected. Perform Necromancy?]
"Arise, my skeletons."
[Acknowledged. 1,500,000 EP deducted. Now reanimating.]
With that, the corpses that were the bandits were engulfed by a sea of purple mist flowing around my undead army. They then rose up to be skeletons, added to my growing army.
[Reanimation complete. You currently have 320 skeletons.]
To make sure this flows nicely, I decided to evolve 7 skeletons, including Mirtis.
[Death Knight > Death Knight Captain] [75,000 EP]
[Skeleton > Greater Skeleton > Skeleton Guard > Skeleton Knight > Death Fighter > Death Knight] [150,000 x 7=1,050,00 EP]
"Evolution."
[Acknowledged. Now evolving.]
The black mist surrounded Mirtis and seven more skeletons as well.
The bandits are seeing the black mist obscuring most of the army completely. Zaneth walks towards the bandit army from behind to see the skeleton army fighting in the front lines.
"You're struggling against normal skeletons?" Zaneth growled, angry at that fact the bandits are losing against skeletons where almost any adventurer can defeat.
"No matter how many we kill, they'll just come back right up and we don't have any Light Magic users! Our healers were also decimated!" The bandit said with panic.
"I'll take care of it." Zaneth said, walking towards the undead army. With him being Rank U, an army of skeletons is child's play to him. He raised his sword and swings at the skeletons.
*CRASH!*
The skeletons were scattered, bones and weapons were sent flying in an instant. The shadow hounds began to pounce on Zaneth in retaliation.
*Slice!*
The hounds were cut down and reduced to smoke and then more shadow hounds jump out of the shadows, the skeletons also reassemble themselves as well.
*Slash!*
More skeletons were cut down instantly and began cutting them down along with the shadow hounds.
"Follow Zaneth's example! As long as he's around, we'll never lose!" the bandit yelled, with his morale restored. The other bandits regained their morale too from Zaneth's valiant actions.
"Uh-oh, looks like they're serious once Zaneth got in. But I got a bigger surprise for you." I said inwardly, smiling devilishly where I am anticipating Zaneth's reaction when facing not one Death Knight, but 7 Death Knights and a Death Knight Captain.
As Zaneth nears close to the dark mist, he swings his blade to break through, one final push.
*CLANG!!*
His sword had been stopped, Zaneth wasn't putting any effort in that swing because he knows he'll cut right through, but not the one who blocked it...not Mirtis.
Mirtis emerged from the black mist with his newfound shield out of deathly gray instead of white. Mirtis's helmet now has horns pointed downward and his skull is showing a slightly angrier face. Mirtis also gained a torn black cape.
Zaneth eyes widened at the sight of the stronger Death Knight, but not with intrigue, not with awe, but fear. A fear that once scarred his being long ago.
The rhythmic marching of metal hitting the ground, the cold blades cleaving through flesh, the bones being crushed with immense force, the cries and pleas of his comrades begging not for life, but for death, and lastly, the maniacal laughter of a being who relish in the suffering of others. He remembers it, Zaneth remembers those sounds, sounds he wish he'd forget.
His hands trembled, trembling the fact that he remembers the trauma. Despite his skills resisting the initial terror, but it cannot cure the trauma he was afflicted. All the bravery he had was sapped away.
"No...he's here..." Zaneth said under his breath.
"Who's here?" one of the bandits asked and his face turned pale seeing the once brave Zaneth is showing deep-rooted terror.
"Rrrrgh...!" Mirtis growled and pushed Zaneth's blade away, forcing him to stumble backwards. Zaneth got a good look of Mirtis' face and the other Death Knights behind him. Most of all, Mirtis' face with burning red eyes staring at his soul.
"He's back..." Zaneth's voice trembled. Every bandit tried to jump in to fight, but they see the ever growing undead army and to fight them all is an act of suicide.
[Evolution complete. Mirtis has evolved to Death Knight Captain.]
[Due to evolution, Mirtis has risen to Rank S.]
[New Skills acquired for Mirtis. Dark Magic-X, Dark Absorption, Accelerated Regeneration, Curse Magic-VII.]
[7 skeletons has evolved to Death Knights.]
*RUMBLE!!*
Thunder boomed in the distance outside the cave, breaking the silence that filled the air. However, that thunder was a mere whisper for Mirtis.
"GROOOOOOAAAARRRGH!!!" Mirtis roared again, but louder and deeper than before. His roar echoed throughout the cave network so that every bandit is aware of his presence, the pebbles quiver in fear, stumbling from various places in the wake of his roar.
If the bandits didn't have a reason to run from the sight of it, then maybe this roar will change their minds.
But, the moment the skeletons got in, they were trapped, waiting to be slaughtered.
