I screamed in pain as I fall to the ground. This pain...it feels just like having my hand on fire, but it also gives a sense of sickness.
[Warning! You are hit by Inferno Magic!]
[Danger! Your soul is taking damage from Inferno Magic. Pain Nullification was ignored!]
As the black flame still began to spread on my left hand, I used Holy Magic to stop it.
*Bwiing!*
The Inferno faded...
*Fwoom!*
Only for it to reignite.
"Dammit! Gotta cut it off!" I said and summoned a blade out of Earth Magic. Before the black flame began spreading to my wrist, I swung at my hand with one quick movement.
*Slice!*
I amputated my entire hand, watching it fall to the ground. The black flame engulfed my entire hand that I severed until it was reduced to nothing. If it weren't for me, it would've spread further.
[Warning! Your hand has been severed!]
[Soul Damage detected, now regenerating...]
I turned to the blue flame that begun to settle and I see that my Holy Magic spear pierced her torso, pinning her down.
The demon's body was covered with grotesque burns. Her long ears burned off, her reddish skin charred black, and one of her eyes were seared shut. The only thing that is contrary to her charred skin is the spear made of Holy Magic, one of the baneful elements towards the Hellkin.
"Agh...blegh!" the demon vomit blood in the color of blue ink. Normally, it would be dark red or black. But when hit by Light, Holy, or Divine, it turns their blood blue.
"Argh...this magic...! It's tearing me apart!" the demon groaned painfully. She tried to remove the spear of holy light, but this magic burns her already charred flesh.
"Forget it. That magic damages the soul of your kind. With you stuck like that, it won't be long until you kick the bucket." I said. The demon looked and noticed my missing hand that she took.
"You...you cut your own hand off...to stop it from spreading? Without hesitation?" the demon said as she was wheezing from the burns and the Holy Magic.
"Yeah, your Inferno Magic hurts more than me cutting my own hand off. You may have took my hand, but you ain't taking my life. Not so easily, that is." I said.
The demon wheezed as her life continues to wane. I see a flash of light and became closer. A bronze light appeared in the sky and the light dissipated to see an angel.
That angel had bronze eyes with a diamond shape inside. Another female angel, but her dress has 3 bronze stripes and designed differently. It's a Superior Angel.
She then emitted a bronze light and two more angels similar to her rank converged to our location and then a silver light appeared last.
"Kain, you're alright." Arex said with delight. As she floated towards me, she noticed something amiss.
"Kain...you..." Arex gasped as she saw something horrific.
"Is it the dragon? Look, the little guy is--" I tried to explain, trying to make light of it.
"I'm not worried about that. It's your soul. It's been damaged." Arex said.
"Oh that...Inferno Magic. Had to cut my hand off, see?" I explained casually as I show them my stump.
"Inferno Magic!?"
"He severed his own hand to stop it from spreading without hesitation it seems."
The angels become shocked at the news I told them, but Arex soon became angry...at herself.
"If only I was faster...you wouldn't be like this..." Arex said.
"Hey, I'm alive, right? This is one of hardships I have to face." I said. "Now, to make sure the demon doesn't exact her revenge on us, finish her off with your Holy Magic."
"You're right. Hellkins are vengeful creatures after all." Arex said as she looked at the demon.
"An...Archangel?" the demon wheezed. "How can a Celestine so young...be this powerful?"
Arex's silver eyes flashed bright and the spear I made with Holy Magic glowed brighter and soon exploded into a pillar of purifying light to destroy evil.
*BZZ-SHOOOM!!*
"GYAAAAaaaa...!!!" the demon screamed in agony until her very flesh and her very soul has been eradicated from this realm.
[Rank B+ target slain. 150,000 EP acquired.]
[Artifact destroyed. Your magic is no longer dampened and you can use Space Magic again.]
"Well, now that's over, let's get out of here. We can't let a single demon stop us." I said. "Am I right, little buddy?"
*Arrr!*
The red dragon growled in agreement.
"But your soul is damaged and...it's recovering?" Arex said, with her eyebrow raised. The other angels turned to each other confused that only Blessing and Holy Magic can recover one's soul.
"Soul Regeneration. I acquired it beforehand." I said.
[Soul Regeneration complete. Now regenerating physical body.]
After that message, my hand that I severed and incinerated by the Inferno quickly grew bones first, the muscles next, and my skin last. My left hand has grown back completely like it never happened.
I turned to Arex and the other three Superior Angels.
"So, how did y'all find us?" I asked.
"When an explosion occurred, I was the closest. And then I saw Holy Magic." she said.
So Arex found reinforcements since she lost me. My Fire Magic must've damaged the demon's artifact and my Holy Magic signaled them.
"Thank you for finding me, I won't forget this." I smiled. The other angels nodded and vanished in flashes of bronze light.
"Let's head back, I don't wanna keep Hyoran waiting." I said and I dashed to the top of the mountains. Gris, Noire, and Arex followed suit.
When I reached the top, I suddenly stop.
"Oh, I almost forgot!" I said. The three stopped.
"What did you forget?" Arex said. I took the little dragon out of my shirt and carried him into my hand.
"I forgot to name the little guy right here." I said. The little dragon turns to me and tilts his head. The light in the horizon began to brighten and then the sun soon emerges from the horizon. I lift the dragon over the sun and I finally decided a great name for him.
"Xydrid." I said. "That will be your name."
*Arrrrr!*
[Red Dragon is now named as Xydrid.]
Xydrid roared in triumph as he received his newfound name, giving declaration that he will become a dragon no one will ever forget. I brought him close to my cheek and he snuggled, liking the name I gave him.
I promised that he, Xydrid will become stronger than his unnamed older brother.
[Attention. Hyoran has reached Veldiar Meadows.]
Upon hearing that message, I created a portal in front of us where it leads to Hyoran's location. Gris and Noire went through the portal and Arex stood there as to watch out for any more invading demons.
But with her being here would attract them. But with that demon who managed to cut Arex off and my null my Space Magic, who knows what Hellkin might come out next. Or I can have Saeva out instead of Arex.
"Arex, thanks for the save again." I said. "I'll call you when I need you again."
"But that Greater Demon managed to divide us and damaged your soul. It would be best if I stay here and guard you." Arex advised.
"But more will come if you stay here, I'll make sure to reduce the threat. And if things get hectic, I will call you." I said.
"Okay...but you must call me the MOMENT an enemy Hellkin appears." Arex advised again before reluctantly accepting my request. She then vanished in silver light.
*Bwing!*
[Arex has returned to the Celestial Realm.]
I secured Xydrid and jumped through the rift to meet Hyoran and the others.
*Voom!*
Hyoran who was looking at Gris and Noire looked at me is happy.
"Kain, you're back! Where's Arex?" Hyoran said.
"Back to her realm." I answered. "Saeva, come on out."
*Fwoom!*
Saeva appeared in a plume of black flame. This in turn should reduce the threat of Hellkin running my pockets.
"So, what's that little guy in your shirt?" Hyoran said.
"Him? This little guy is Xydrid. He is a dragon." I said, presenting him on both of my hands.
*Arrr!*
Xydrid squealed and Hyoran's eyes brightened from Xydrid's adorable size as a Hatchling.
"Can I pet him?" Hyoran asked. I nodded and put Xydrid forward. Hyoran lightly tapped Xydrid's head and Xydrid rubs his head on that hand.
"He's cute. Is he the one who cried for help?" Hyoran said.
"Yeah, he was in a rough shape when I found him. Now he's good as new. And I will make him big and strong." I declared. I put Xydrid in my shirt again and jumped on top of Zala. Gris and Noire jumped into the shadows.
With that out the way, we're going through this meadow.
