Onward To Dystoark (Final)

Veldiar Meadows. A vast chunk of land where tall grass expand as far as the eye can see. A meadow so large, it is also nicknamed as The Verdant Ocean or The Great Green. In the map, it is 100 square miles in size.

But Dystoark...is the size of the Appalachian Mountains* and the Rockies*. Larger than the Empires of Noltia, Ergex, Felexin, Delfinus, and Caios combined. Also, that place not only has monsters roaming around, but factions of races also reside there.

Goblins, Beastkins, Orcs, Ogres, Reptilians, Aerokins, and Seakins. In rare cases, Onis exist there, but even rarer when Oni settlements exist.

Elves, Dwarves, and Humans did make civilizations there, but due to the repeated conflicts with monsters and themselves, they left the forest and treated it like an expedition.

This also means, I am more likely to get the materials without too much competition.

But my main concern is where will I start. Better yet, I'll move into the forest for an hour and create a base not out of magic, but of actual material such as wood.

Right now, I stopped Zala in the meadows led Hyoran down as well.

"Kain? Why did we stop?" Hyoran asked.

"To evolve Zala so we can get there faster." I said.

[Umbra Horse > Obsidian Steed]

"Obsidian Steed."

"Zala, Evolution." I said.

[Acknowledged, now evolving.]

*NEIIIIGH!*

*Gwoooosh!*

Zala neighed and a black cyclone engulfed her whole. The black cyclone scares the monsters nearby, forcing them to run away.

*Bwoom!*

The cyclone exploded and reveals Zala's new form. Zala now had shiny black fur with a purple sheen and her obsidian hooves. Her tail also got a purple sheen to it as well along with her hair.

[Evolution complete. Zala has evolved to Obsidian Steed.]

[Due to evolution, Zala has risen to Rank A+.]

Zala sputters and stomps her feet, relishing in her newfound power. We got on Zala and Zala zoomed through the meadows, weaving around the monsters that couldn't see her. I used Wind Magic to redirect the air away so it doesn't blow us away, especially Xydrid.

I summoned a rift so that Zala, Gris, Noire, and Saeva can jump through.

*Vzoom!*

We reached into Great Dystoark Forest where multiple trees expand virtually endless. The endless green vegetation along with the dead trees find a great.

I thought the Nolten Forest was big, but this...this is massive. Nolten back there had a Forest Guardian, but here, it is lawless and only the strong can survive.

"It's massive...all I can see is trees and plants." Hyoran said. "So, how are we going to create a base?"

"First, we have to find a good spot for us to start building." I said.

The best way to defend a base is to find places that are a natural defense like mountains, a network of caves and tunnels, a dense forest, or some rivers.

Even so, there are those who can offset these advantages.

We travel through the forest where the tall trees block the sun with their large leaves, leaving large shadows.

That is until we found a open space wide enough to begin our construction. I got off of Zala and looked around. We ended up deep in the forest with Zala's speed where in normal terms, it takes one hour on horseback. Zala made it in less than 30.

The time for construction is now.

"Come forth, my skeletons!" I said.

*Wroooaahhh...*

My shadow suddenly grew and covered the grass in front of me. Multiple arms rise from the ground and grabbed on to climb from the darkness.

370 skeletons rise from the ground and lastly...

*SHUNK!*

Two large swords emerged from the ground and the rest rose from the ground. Mirtis rose from the ground.

All the skeletons turn to me and knelt down to await my orders.

"Mirtis, cut down the trees. Death Knights, dig up for the foundation, and skeletons use the wood to build." I said.

"Raaah!" Mirtis roared and ran to cut down the nearest tree. When Mirtis went close, he swung Lionheart at the tree.

*Slash!*

Mirtis cut down the tree with one strike, causing it to fall down towards us. Hyoran yelped as the tree began falling down.

"Viri, Gris!" I yelled.

*Shoom!*

Gris jumped out of the shadows and Viridesca flew down from the sky towards the falling tree.

Viridesca used her Wind Magic to stop the large tree from falling down by making the air itself become a giant near-invisible cushion.

Gris on the other hand used his Sky Raver skill to run on air and soon became a silver blur.

*Shooooom!!*

Dashed to one end and back several times, spiraled around the branches, and finally landed next to me in a near instant.

*Boom!*

The tree that towers buildings has been reduced into logs in a mere instant. Viridesca used her wind to place the logs on the side.

As my undead legion began preparing, I bring my larger beasts out.

*Vzoom!*

"Stein, Flammen, Taudera, Santrasa, Dichrome, Paura, come on out." I said.

*Thump!*

My bigger beasts who are slower or couldn't go covert walked out of my rift. I instructed them to guard the construction from incoming onlookers.

I look at Paura and thought of evolving him. But more on the poison.

[Scythe Spider > Poison Scythe Spider]

"Paura. Evolution."

[Acknowledged, now evolving...]

"Kiiii!" Paura screeched and a thick mist engulfed him. The mist swirled rapidly and turned into a purple color.

*Poof!*

The mist dissipated, showing Paura who was once white and is now purple all over with sickly green eyes.

[Evolution Complete. Paura has evolved to Poison Scythe Spider.]

[Due to evolution, Paura has risen to B+.]

Paura screeched, raising his bladed weapons, celebrating his evolution.

I knelt down to Paura to give him my order.

"Paura, find the nearest cave." I said. "Schwarze, follow Paura."

"Kii!" Paura screeched and ran off. Schwarze began flying along Paura's direction as to scout for enemies to avoid if possible.

I walk to an open space and put Xydrid down. When I said, I will make him big and strong, I mean it.

"Alright Xydrid, I'm gonna make you big and strong." I declared.
