Passing the Message

"Viri, are you nearby?" I said with telepathy.

*Wooosh!*

Viridesca flies out of the forest and into the wasteland. She stopped and looked at the barren landscape, riddled with craters and dead trees. Viridesca gives off a sad expression, on the verge of tears.

As Wind Elementals, they love nature, but not as much for Leaf Elementals as they thrive off of plants which is vital to them.

"Sorry about the landscape, but I have a important task to give you." I said.

Viridesca flew towards me, ready to fulfill my task.

"Can you carry my voice to all of the chieftains with your Wind Magic?" I said.

Viridesca nodded and created a ball of wind.

[Viridesca wants you to speak into the ball and Viridesca will relay that message in a louder volume.]

"Alright, let's begin..." I said, and began my announcement.

{Meanwhile...}

In the deep forest, Onizakura, Friis, and Metsuka continue running towards the forest.

"That storm and then a flash of light. Kain must've been locked in an deadly battle." Onizakura stated.

"About Kain, he looked like he had this planned out, hearing that you went to all of the tribes with him." Metsuka said.

"He did, he stationed multiple beasts to protect our tribes, so he could focus on the Hellkins on his own." Friis said.

"We failed to beat him before, but we're out of options." Onizakura said. "If he fails, worst-case scenario we have to start a mass evacuation."

They continue running and hear a voice.

"Attention! The Hellkins has been eradicated! The remaining beasts that was hypnotized are back to normal. The battle is won!" a voice said, resembling mine.

"That's Kain's voice. He's saying that the Hellkins has been eradicated?" Metsuka said, looking around.

"I repeat. The Hellkins has been eradicated! The remaining beasts that was hypnotized are back to normal. The battle is won!"

My voice became heard throughout the forest and into the villages.

Metsuka soon notices Friis letting out tears from his eyes.

"At long last...our time for recovery has come." Friis said, sniffling.

"Let's go back. Although the elephants are wiped out, we still need to recover." Onizakura said, walking to the opposite direction.

In the the Goblin village, Zherk and Hyoran heard the message as well.

"He did it...he definitely did it!" Hyoran jumped with glee. Zherk puts down his axe and lets out a sigh.

"The rumbling and the roaring began before and stopped. It wasn't like any beast I heard before..." Zherk thought to himself.

"Hyoran, let's head back. We're done here." Zherk said and began walking back. Hyoran followed after.

Back to me, I stood still in the center of the forest and Viridesca came down. I climbed on to Zala, who recovered from paralysis.

I should meet with Onizakura and the rest of the Oni village, but how am I gonna explain that I became a Oni Warlord in a short time? I also knew that the Battle Onis are seen as warmongers. Far worse than Orcs.

But I can do the mimicry as a workaround. I can only use it if I saw monsters before even if I didn't have Mimicry before.

"System, Mimicry."

[Acknowledged. 1000 EP deducted.]

[Skill acquired. Mimicry.]

With this skill, I can take on appearances that I have seen before, despite not having that skill. I could change into any being as long it isn't a drastic change.

[You have changed to High Oni.]

I turned Zala around and began heading back to the Oni Village. But it'll be a far distance to get there. So, I have Zala do Shadow Sneak on the way back.

{Few minutes later...}

*Shoom!*

I reached the end of the forest and see multiple Onis and some Lizardmen celebrating. Celebrating that the threat has finally been neutralized and can work their way to recover and prosper.

I continue to walk Zala to the entrance of the village and I see Friis, Onizakura, Aria, and Metsuka in the distance near the entrance.

"Hey! Y'all miss me?" I called out them.

"Young Kain! Is it true that you slain the Hellkins!?" Friis said with excitement in his voice.

"Sure did." I said, jumping off. "You will NOT believe what happened back there. It was--"

[Incoming attack!]

In the middle of my sentence, I see a pale foot dart at my face.

*Swoosh!*

*Krrsh!*

[Caution! Adamantine Body Armor has been damaged!]

Not only she's faster, but she managed to damage my armor. Just how much was she held back?

"Hey Onizakura, quite a welcome back--" I said, but Onizakura interrupted me.

"How long...just how long must you torment us...?" she said as her voice trembled. I became concerned, thinking that she was putting a brave front until the trauma came out.

"Wait...oh crap. She's no longer wearing shoes!" Metsuka exclaimed. "Also, mind telling me how'd you became...that?"

"It was when I was fighting the Hellkins." I replied, but that was only part of the truth.

*BREEP!!*

[Incoming attack from behind!]

I turned and saw Onizakura do a flying whirlwind kick at my head. I raised my arm to block the kick.

*THOOOM!!*

The impact was loud and it knocked me back a few feet.

*KRSSSH!!*

This is without a doubt. She wore her shoes as a restriction on not only her movement, but her power as well.

"I managed to establish this village with my own two hands...I won't allow you warmongers to ruin it!" Onizakura growled. "Never again!"

Built the village with her two hands, Warmongers, and never again...no doubt, it's the Battle Onis who lived to fight. For her to react like this, the Battle Onis must've destroyed her village before coming here.

Now that the threat of the Hellkins are removed, the road to recovery begins. And it's gonna be a long one.
