More Tyrants

Erzibolt swung her left arm and unleashed a barrage of magic varying in elements. Multiple explosions and craters litter the battlefield. Miura, Espada, and Islero flew towards Erzibolt to attack since they can fly and is smaller than Xydrid.

Ashley retreated, knowing that she'll be in the way given the fact she is definitely not strong enough.

Xydrid roared in anger and flew into the sky to fight Erzibolt.

"Ashley, there is information I wish to share!" I yelled, running towards her.

"You can evolve? I knew that since you have Evolutionist and so did I. Problem is that we're in combat. I know we can progress Dragon Hearts and Blood Cores too." Ashley said. "I have saved enough to progress into Adult-III, but I need time."

"How much?" I said.

"For the Progression and Ascension, I need 4 minutes. Can you do that?" Ashley asked. I smiled.

"You got it! Gris, Groza, Viri, Vampa, Burya, Santrasa, Dichrome, come on out!" I yelled.

The six monsters came out of the Isolated Space and witnesses the battle unfold. Ashley began flying away to a nearby mountain to progress and ascend her heart.

"My fellow friends, we have a battle to needs to be won." I said. I then pointed upwards at Erzibolt. "Up there is our enemy. For that, we must defeat it."

"Vampa, Burya, Groza, Gris, go into the sky, Santrasa and Dicrome, support us from the ground. Viri, use your wind to defend me." I said.

The monsters agreed and the plan was set in motion.

I teleported myself on Xydrid's back, trying to catch up with Miura, Espada, and Islero.

Streaks of light, fire, lightning, darkness, and wind raze the sky. Yet, no side was able to get the advantage.

Erzibolt was able to put a stalemate with 3 Superior Archdemons while Espada had already put out a thick pink mist and yet nothing happened to Erzibolt.

"Rrrgh...this Holy Magic is getting annoying." Miura growled, getting impatient as she is swinging her scythe out of her Inferno Magic.

"She's the real deal after all. My mist can't get into her barrier. Even if we did, she has Elemental Armor too." Espada sighed. And then smiled, "It makes me want to break her more."

"I wonder if heroes can become an undead." Islero said.

"Three Superior Archdemons at that Oni's command are preventing me to advance, but neither can they." Erzibolt thought.

She didn't plan fighting two Tyrants, three Hellkins, an Adult Dragon and multiple high-ranking monsters.

{Meanwhile...}

I flew to the mountains and found a open place to safely progress and ascend my Dragon Heart. Since my body would be cramped inside the caves.

I requested my system to raise me to Adult Dragon phase.

[The highest phase you can ascend to is Adult-III.]

[Warning. Forcibly ascending Dragon Hearts may put your life at risk. Do you wish to continue?]

I resolved myself that I would get stronger as a Dragon, knowing the fact that I could die from the massive influx of power.

But that's alright. I wanted my 30 years of mundane life as a Dragon to be over. This was the opportunity I've waited for.

"Yes." I answered.

[Acknowledged. Now ascending.]

After the message, my entire body began throbbing.

"Urgh!" I groaned loudly, gritting my teeth. The energy inside me began rampaging, tearing me apart.

Soon, the pain began amplifying with each passing moment. My organs, my bones, my flesh began tearing and repairing itself rapidly.

I was feeling as if I'm being mauled by every beast in existence, clawing away at every inch of my body.

Yet, I endured. All the pain I felt from losing Alden and Suzanna, the regret of leaving Danny, Andre, and the siblings behind, I remember it. Every night for 30 years in this world, I remember it due to the nightmares.

"This is nothing compared...to losing my dear friends of mine and leaving them behind." I said to myself, struggling. "Alden, it's up to you now."

{Now...}

"That light..." Erzibolt gasped. She then realized that Ashley has begun to progress. Erzibolt retreated and tried to fly towards Ashley.

"Now, Xydrid!" I yelled.

*FRROOOOSH!!!*

Xydrid let out his scorching fire breath at Erzibolt. Everyone else was clear from his breath despite their resistances, but his Dragon Pierce can bypass those.

Erzibolt avoided the fire breath by going over, but I jumped off of Xydrid's back, making my trajectory reach Erzibolt.

"The heat from that breath is intense even if I block it. I better stop that Blue Dragon from progressing!" Erzibolt thought.

"Hey, you're dealing with me!" I yelled, barreling towards her with an excited smile in my face.

Miura flew by and attacked Erzibolt's Holy Barrier, knowing that it's useless, but the magic alone is enough to threaten Erzibolt's life.

Erzibolt grunted and forced to use her Holy Barrier because of my Hellkins.

I threw my punch at the Holy Barrier.

*BZZZOOM!*

The barrier screeched at the force from my fist. Then, the weight of my body brought her down to the ground, trapping her.

Then, my arm began to slowly inch inside the barrier due to my Holy Resistance. Shocking Erzibolt. Soon, I broke the barrier.

*Stab!*

Before I could grab her neck, Erzibolt stabbed a frozen spike through my hand. My hand then began to freeze.

Erzibolt jumped away and I chase after her with my frozen arm. I used my strength alone to shatter the ice around my arm.

Gris zips past me in a silver blur, leaving trails of loose grass blades. In that moment, Gris swipes his claw at her.

*K-SHING!*

Gris's claw made contact of her armor, but it made no scratch on it.

Erzibolt clicked her tongue and swings her sword of ice at Gris. However, Gris evaded her attack and came back to me.

The reason she is able to resist Gris's attack was her armor out of dragon scales enchanted with Holy Magic. Gris is fast enough to reach her, but not strong enough to deal damage to her.

"Viri, give Gris a boost." I said.

Viri nodded and surrounds Gris's body in Wind Magic, boosting his Speed. I also boosted his stats with my Blessing Magic to make him even faster and stronger.

*Awooo!*

Gris howled from the power surging within him and glared at Erzibolt.

*Vzzt!*

In a moment, Gris vanished from her sight and suddenly, her right leg began spilling blood.

"Urgh!" Erzibolt grunted, wincing from the pain in her leg. Erzibolt could not react at all. "The Argent Wolf has gotten faster!?"

*Skrrrrt!!*

Gris skids across the grass and continues his assault.

*Slice!*

He then cuts her left arm with his teeth and then continues his assault, making shallow cuts on exposed skin.

Erzibolt tried to counter him, but Gris' fast and unpredictable movements make it hard for her to do so.

"This wolf isn't giving me time to cast my barrier!" Erzibolt thought, blocking her neck as to avoid a fatal blow. "It hurts, but my Regeneration will protect me. However, if I let the Blue Dragon progress fully, it'll be impossible to keep fighting."

"That oni is protected by multiple monsters as well including 3 Hellkins. I fear that my chances of victory is slim." Erzibolt thought. "To think it would be this daunting...I must use this."

"You know, your wolf isn't doing much." Miura said.

"I know, but I'm stalling for Za'trika to finish progressing." I said. Then I notice Gris slowing down and panting heavily. Gris is reach his limit of his stamina after traveling such speeds for extended periods.

However, the system let out an alarm.

[Warning! Incoming AOE attack!]

"Gris, get back now!" I yelled.

*BZZWIING!!*

A pillar of light appeared, knocking Gris back into my direction. Gris then twists his body and lands on his four feet, sliding to a stop.

Gris began panting heavily and struggled to stand up right. His buffs has worn off. I looked back to see that the blue light in the distance is still growing, but Ashley is still progressing.

"System, how long until Ashley finishes progressing?" I said.

[One minute and thirty seconds.]

I still got time, but once Ashley finishes, Erzibolt might retreat to Virdana, Felexin, or Noltia. So, I have something extra before she retreats.

I can use Space Magic to even the playing field, but I have to make sure she is sure to have a chance in winning.

All I have to do, is to not die again.
