Chapter 27: A thirst for blood

He came even closer, closing the little space that separated them, his eyes falling on her face as he gazed into them softly. Her blue crystal eyes sparkling into his, and there was that feeling again. The weird sensation that got her feeling different and uncomfortable in the banquet when she saw Caseuss In the lady's room.

Eliot's face was now dangerously close to hers. 'What has gotten into him…, why is he acting like this… did I get some kind of scent on me?'

He slowly brought his face down to her throat where he kept breathing relentlessly, with his lips softly moving across her neck, making shivers run down her spine.

Her mind was now uncertain and fuzzy, she wasn't sure of what to do, '…I need to get him to stop acting like this, any response would be better than going through this' "M-my lord", Zoe said but it didn't snap him out of the trance like state he was in, rather it made him more hungry, and before Zoe could react or say another word, she felt the tips of his fangs grazing the side of her neck 'is he going to …bite me!?'

Zoe attempted to push him away, but her attempt was broken when Eliot's right hand held her waist. His grip was tight holding her hand in place with her back against the wall, "master… please" Zoe begged breathlessly in fear, but Eliot wasn't listening to her pleading, "shhh…, I just want to have a little steal of what your blood tastes like" in hearing what he said tears made its way into her eyes, as memories of begin tortured invade her.

"Master!" Zoe said tearfully trying to snap Eliot back to reality, which to her surprise succeeded. Eliot snapped his head to look back at her, searching her eyes, and now she wished she never called out to him, 'his eye's… what is wrong with them?', they had complete turned to slit, like they were begging her not to intrude his feelings, 'what's happening to him?', his pupils started to adjust back to its normal position as he shook his head lightly trying to regain his blurred vision. Now realizing how close he was to Zoe he shifted, going back to look into her teary eyes only to see fear and confusion.

. . .

The night was cold and unfriendly, as Zoe closed her eyes to sleep, the thought of torture never leaving her mind, as the emotionless wind blew on her skin, Zoe had removed the dress which she had worn to the banquet, and she wore a lower ranking maids dress, it was brown and shapeless but it had long sleeves that would help to reduce the risk of catching a cold or falling ill due to the cold floor. Zoe's eyes were drowsy and tiered, but every time she closed them it would either be her mother's caring face looking to protect her or blood appearing to ink her memory.

Eliot could hear Zoe's heartbeat, his eyes never leaving her body as he watched her sleep, but she never did. Every time her heart wanted to rest it would quicken up…, like she was afraid, afraid of something or someone

. . .

Eliot woke up to the sounds of chirping birds, sitting up to stare at Zoe who was still lying on the floor.

Listening to her heart, she was awake…, her heart beating steadily than last night, which means she had calmed down, but it seemed that she was awake the entire night.

'What is wrong with me…? I couldn't resist a humans blood, and I almost lost control, how is this possible?' Eliot thought to himself still wondering what had come over him, because in most cases Elite vampires weren't like normal vampires, they could willingly resist and control their urges to drink blood but last night was different, the beast within him that had threatened to escape for years was almost let lose…

He readied himself leaping out of his kinged sized bed, to stand on his feet, walking towards his wardrobe, he looked back at Zoe who shifted uncomfortably as her eyes snapped open. Noticing Eliot gaze on her she swiftly stood up to avoid his gaze as she lowered her head 'did I scare her that much?' Eliot thought to himself, still watching her movements skeptically.
