Who is Lie Ren?

Captain Xu: So Mr. Lieren, you finally decided to join a party, I'm happy it was us that you considered first.

Zhengfan: There weren't any hunting jobs on the board, and you guys are mostly consider for hunting tasks around the city. So I thought I should check that out as well.

Captain Xu: Well, you can ask for anything you may need to know to familiarize yourself here. Come this way I'll introduce you to the team. The guy you were talking back there was our wind mage, Li Wenjie. And the girl besides him was our water mage Xiao Ke.

As they went inside the room. The captain spoke again.

Captain Xu: The lady over there having papers in her hand is our vice captain Cai Tang, she is an Ice mage. And that big guy is Fei Shi - he is an earth mage.

Captain Xu: Here, here, here everyone meet our new member. He is a lightning mage.

ZhengFan: Hay! Everyone.

Zheng greeted to everyone and peeked a glance toward Cai Tang, a beautiful lady with a fair skin, short blue-green hair just below her nick, big Bust, wearing a tight light blue skirt suit with combat gear including arms and shoulder guards. 'let's see if you recognize me. My hairs and eyes are still visible. It hasn't been that long since we last met….. I think, I'll test that when we are alone. Not the best place to test my theory'

He changed his mind at the last second and decided against it. Cai Tang started Coming closer to him and said.

Cai Tang: Captain a moment ago, you were rejecting every advance hunter and now you picked a newbie because of his element.

"Ehhh??" Said Xiao Ke, Li Wenjie and Captain Xu at the same time.

Cai Tang: You had a change of heart very fast I see-

Li Wenjie: Wait vice captain-...

Li tried to stop her but couldn't.

Cai Tang: And you, we needed a true Elite so don't participate if you think you can't handle a fight. That will slow us down and put everyone's life in danger-

Xiao Ke straight went toward her Vice Captain and put a hand on her mouth.

Xiao Ke: Slow down Vice captain, He is Lieren, the lightning expert.

Cai Tang: …..?

She had a blank expression on her face. "Who is Lieren?"

All three of them had face fault.

Li Wenjie: Haa haha, You must be joking right, Which world are you living in??.

Li had a dry laugh and said the last part while looking away.

By now Cai have come to a realization that she might have said something stupid and not being up to date with the gossip of her association could lead to awkward situation.

Zheng Fan: Don't make a big deal about it. There aren't many people who knows me as you might have thought, only who I personally met.

Xiao Ke: You must be joking, Right?

Zheng Fan: No, It's actually true, You guys are the first team I joined. Otherwise I mostly went on hunt alone, so not many knows me personally. Anyway, I'm Lieren. Level 3 lightning mage.

Hearing that Cai had a very small blush on her face and said apologetically " I-… I'm sorry, welcome to our team"

She was a little embarrassed about it but returned back to her usual self.

Li Wenjie: But Sir Lieren, I heard you also took down many strong minions. Isn't it hard even in a group.

ZhengFan: Actually my lightning is much stronger then average. So I could mortally injure an average Strong Minion with a single level 3 Spell.

Hearing that everybody was greatly impressed.

Li Wenjie: That's very impressive..

Zhengfan: Actually you guys could also reach that level. Just save enough money to buy spirit fragments of the same element and when you have 10, it can be fused to form a genuine Spirit species, it will increase the attack with a boost factor of 2~3 for overall spells.

Xiao Ke: Wow! With that boosting factor, even captain could mortally injure a strong minion.

Li Wenjie: Captain, you know that makes him the strongest among us. Your captain position may be in__

Said Wenjie in a teasing tone. "H-Hay what are you talking about…" Replied captain in an awkward tone.

Zhengfan: No need to be insecure about your post captain, I don't have any Intentions of becoming a captain here.

As they were chatting among themselves, a lady came running in the office and said in an urgent tone. " Captain, we have just received a report of a girl went missing last night at Ming Wen Middle School. There is a high possibility of a monster involved in this."

Saying that the lady went out of the office. But Zheng Recognizing the school name spoke.

ZhengFan: That school again!... .

Captain Xu: What! Sir Lieren something happened there before?

Zhengfan: Yeah, last time I was in the vicinity when I heard a commotion, so I investigated it and saved some school girls from a monster. Give me a moment, I'll make a call.

Saying that he went at the corner of the room and dialed a number.

Saying that he ran out of the room, and started running toward the terrace of the building and from there he masked his presence and started jumping building to building in the direction of the school.

The moment he arrived. He straight went toward the only life signature he found toward the storage area, he bypassed the concrete wall without breaking it. There he saw a girl about 14 sitting in the corner crying silently, under the table hugging her knees and too scared to even move.

He also saw some traces of monster footprint and saliva. The girl was alive because the place at where she was hiding, had a lot of monster's repelling herbs. Which gave off strong smell which monsters particularly don't like.

He waved his hand in the direction where the girl was hiding-

*Whoosh*

-and things she was hiding under disappeared. The moments she noticed that she got even more frightened to the point she couldn't even scream. She didn't looked up and tightened the arms around her knees. She was visibly shaking.

Zheng removed his mask and spread his 'aura' around. He went close to the girl and sat right next to her. There he put a hand on her head which gave her a very warm feeling. She looked up and saw his charming face with a calming smile. The moment she realized it's not a dream, she jumped for a tight hug.

Zheng fan: There, there, yun'er everything is alright now.

Lin yun'er: *Sniff, Sniff* It was h-here, I-It was so big and s-scary, I-I thought it w-will eat m-me. I-I c-couldn't even call for h-help.

Zheng Fan: It's ok to be scared of these things, even I have my share of things I'm scared of. And besides you can strive to become so powerful that those things will be scared of you.

Lin yun'er: *Sniff* Really? *Sniff*

Said yun'er while still hugging him tightly.

Zhengfan: Uh-huh.

Zheng looked at the young girl who fall asleep after not being able to sleep for a whole night till now because of the fear. He unrolled a layer of strip having a rhinestone , from his left wrist and put it on her right hand.

From there he disappeared with yun'er using 'source' in an extremely high speed and appeared in his room inside his house the very moment. He placed her on the bed-

Xinxia: Big brother you came so early, I didn't prepared anything yet, you should ha-

The moment he placed her on the bed, Xinxia, who sensed his arrival, an ability she developed recently which can sense her big brother nearby, directly came into the room to complain but stopped when she saw the very girl that went missing on their bed.

ZhengFan: I found her in the canteen's storage basement. She fall asleep soon after I found her, so I brought her here. You stay with her, OK?..

Xinxia: OK big brother, you will be going back there?

Zheng went toward her, gave her a kiss on the forehead and nodded.

Saying that he activated the temporary switch portal he left at the place where he came from, which transported him back there.

He went outside of the basement, there he saw the city hunter team.

*5 minutes earlier*

The City hunter were on there way toward the school, as there arrived they all started searching the area suspected by the students and teachers alike.

Fei Shi: Mr. Lie Ren went ahead of us! Where is he…

Li Wenjie: I was also thinking about it, the police on the entrance said they didn't seen him enter from the entrance.

Captain Xu: Don't overthink it, that's not the only place a person could enter from, he'll arrive if he hasn't already! His priority might be that girl.

Li Wenjie: Oah yeah.

As they spotted a giant-eye rat---

Fei Shi: That thing looked very hungry

Li Wenjie: It's a good think we found it in time.

Captain Xu: Alright, everyone. We're moving in!!

*SQUEAK* ~ *GU, GU!!!*

The giant-eye rat made a loud noise

Li Wenjie disappeared along with Cai Tang and Fei Shi using wind track, a quick movement spell. He placed Cai Tang and Fei Shi behind the monster to block his escape route and himself straight In front of the monster.

The monster started running toward him. He swiftly disappeared again which caused the rat to crash in to chairs.

*Crash* ~ *Bang!!!Bang!*!!Bang*

When the monster realized he missed his pray, he started looking around. A moment later he saw his pray hanging high up in the air. He through a light attack using his eye.

*Clang!!*

Li Wenjie: Wind Track: flash step…

*Boom!!!*

Li Wenjie was distracting the rat by moving near it in a very fast speed.

The rat Again started throwing Light beam in all direction.

Xiao Ke: Water defense: Guard!!

Ke casted a water barrier to stop the rat's random attack toward them.

The Giant eye rat was running after Li Wenjie, who was faster and were able to dodge quite easily.

*EEK?*

Captain Xu throw a level 2 and 3 fire spell on the rat one after the other-

*Boom*

*Ahh!! Ahh!! GU! GU!*

-which caused heavy damage to the rat.

Captain: Cai Tang, Fei Shi block its path of retreat!

The Duo: Roger!! Ice spread: Solidify, Earth wave: delay.

As the two of them blocked the exit path of the monster, the monster who was hiding behind a pillar of the wall, jumped to attack the distracted Cai—

*GU! GU!!*

Seeing that Captain Xu shouted in an urgent tone. "Xiao Ke!! Put a water shield on-" "O-OK, Water—"

Cai Tang looking back and saw the Rat pretty close to herself. "Huh?"

"Thunder Seal: Raging strike"

*ZAP* ~~ *Tssss!!! Tssss!! Tssss!*

Before the captain finished his sentence or Xiao Ke form a barrier, a very strong lightning bolt came from the hand which was just above Xiao Ke's right shoulder, which scared her a bit.

The impact was so strong that it fried the giant eye rat completely.

*Swish!!!*

Li Wenjie: That attack of your is on another level altogether Sir Lieren.

Fei Shi: Damn that giant eye rat must have been mutant!! It still had enough power to move that quick in a half dead condition?! Normally they'd flee immediately when they get injured!

Xiao Ke: I'm sorry I wasn't fast enough!

Captain Xu: You are a water mage of the team, you must have your star path formed and prepared at all time! You should never let your guard down even when others did!!

Xiao Ke had her head down with a bit of tear in her eyes. When suddenly she felt a hand on her head, she looked up and saw Zheng standing in front of her.

ZhengFan: Calm down Capt. I do know you're worried about the team, but its not healthy to overly depend on a single person for a whole team safety. Its team's job to help one another. Like I did.

Captain Xu: I didn't mean in that way—

ZhengFan: I know, just telling from my experience-

Li Wenjie: What do you mean?

ZhengFan: I have seen some teams in a very bad state because of their over reliance on a particular person_ Don't misunderstand me, I'm not Saying Cai was careless, just try not to go to extremes and I'll help XiaoKe in staying alert all time don't worry about it.

Cai Tang: Let it rest, we're all human, and humans make mistake. We've taken care of the problem, so let's just take our Lea--

Cai also came in and said the captain to let this slide, but was interrupted by Zheng.

Zhengfan: Not quite yet, we have a long night ahead of us, I found a nest or two of these monsters down in the Sewers when I was looking for the girl!!

City hunters Team: What!!! Nests!!!

ZhengFan nodded!! " You guys can call for a backup of at least a group of Mid-tier from the magic council for extra precautions for the off chance of a Warriors class monster shows up."

Fei Shi: Still do you think we can handle a nest of minions with just the 6 of us.

Hearing that Zheng had a small smile and said " Then let me show you who I didn't joined a team before."

They started walking toward the hole that giant rat dug, after calling for an emergency backup

Xiao Ke came near Zheng and said "Sir Lieren, Thank you for earlier!" She said with a happy smile. " C'mon call me Lieren, and you guys too, stop the formality. And you're welcome".

Li Wenjie: Si- I mean Lieren, I forgot to ask did you find that girl that went missing?

Captain Xu: Yeah I also didn't asked-

ZhengFan: Don't worry about her, she is fine and currently in a safe house!

Captain Xu: Well that's a good news!

As they came across the place Zheng gestured them to stop by raising his left hand.

ZhengFan : We'll use V formation and will keep Xiao Ke in the middle. I'll be in the front, Captain and Cia on my either side, on the right corner will be Wenjie and on the left, Fei Shi.

Li Wenjie: Oh I got it, you want me to increase captain's fire power using wind---

Zheng Fan: Yup!! Now stay vigilant all times.

Saying that, they went inside. Zheng formed a level 2 Spell: Madness Whip in his hand and Swung on any monster he see with his full output * Zzzzeep*

*CRACK!* *CRACK!* *CRACK!* *CRACK!*

As he didn't wanted the monster to survive and catch the team off guard, he used the whip on full output which made cracking sound upon contact with the monster!

*Booomm* *Ekkk ~ Eekkk?*

"AAAAAAA " Captain Xu and Li Wenjie also timed their attack, to increase the fire using wind, " Lieren!! on your left" Cai froze the target for Zheng to attack, "Earth Wave: Delay" The Earth Mage, Fei Shi also used his element to mainly slow down the monsters coming close and trap them long enough to be hit either by lightning spell or fire. "Thunder Seal: Raging strike"

* zzzzzzzzzz-PANG!!!*

As the monsters started getting more and more Zheng started Casting level 3 spells which straight pierced through the monsters like butter, it wasn't easy to guess if they encountered any strong Minion so far as the team was swiftly making there way inside after killing more then 15 minions already ranging from 'Weak to Normal'

Xiao Ke: Water Defense: Guard.

Zheng didn't stopped supplying energy to his lightning whip as it was enough to kill these rats in a single hit, As they went inside Xiao Ke was shielding the attacks from the Rats, as the Light beam is strong to greatly injure the mages, with Zheng's level 3 attack from time to time to not let the monsters gather a crowd, the team was not having any problem so far as they had already killed more then 35 minions from which 25 were killed by Zheng's spell.

The only problem they might have would be low energy reserve, most of them already had used more then half, and they still don't know how big is this nest or how long will the backup team will take to arrive. "AAAAAAAA"

*Boom!!* *Swish!!* *Boom!!* *Crack!!*

*Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz-PANG!!!!*

The team kept on advancing on a moderate speed. " Damn, they are coming from everywhere!!" " Don't loose concentration" "Yes! Captain!!"

*Eeeeekk???!!!**Keeee!!!**Ekekek!!*

As they almost reached in the middle of the nest the team were surrounded by monster from all sides, everyone went on full alert and Zheng Started throwing only level 3 spell without holding back.

*CRACK!!!CRACK!!CRACK!!*

And the moment he made sure no one is paying attention on him, he supercharged his stars enough to be equivalent to a Level 6 of novice tier in power and throw it with the boosting factor of 2.78 making his spell a bit stronger then normal level 2 of mid-tier. In an instant more then 40 minions dropped dead from where they were coming from. And those that were surrounding the squad were under the a assault of Captain Xu's Fire which was being spread by Li Wenjie' Wind and Cia's Ice spell.

Captain Xu: I'm almost on quarter in my reserve!!

Cai Tang: Same here captain-

Xiao Ke: I'm very low on magic Captain, I don't think I can keep on casting barrier for more then 3 minutes…

Li Wenjie: I was wondering when you'll give the bad news!

Fei Shi: It's natural, She constantly taking the hits!!.

Captain Xu was worrying about this issue, if they run out of energy before the backup arrive, they'll be in big trouble, he was even more worried that Lieren might be low on reserve too, as he is the one that spent the most energy. "Lieren!! How long do you think you can go on like this?" This was an important question that could decide there fate.

ZhengFan: Don't worry I got more then half reserve!! I can go on for more then 30 minutes non- stop.

Li Wenjie: What!!

Said Wenjie in a surprise, " Li Wenjie! Focus on the monster" " Sorry- My bad!"

ZhengFan: Don't misunderstand the increased power for more usage, I'm spending the same amount of energy as a normal level 3 takes, it's just that I worked from the start to increase my magic capacity!

Xiao Ke: Captain! I'm very low on magic right now!.

Said XiaoKe loudly so the team could adjust to be more careful for defense." Thunder Seal: Raging strike X2"

*Crack!!* *Crack* *BOOOOMM*

*Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz-PANG!!!!*

ZhengFan: Wenjie take XiaoKe out of here safely—

Li Wenjie: That will put a great burden on the team if two of us back off now!!

Fei Shi: Trust him! Besides its good if you take her out of here, she can not protect herself going back.

Fei Shi interrupted Wenjie and said, him taking XiaoKe out of here will be safer.

Li Wenjie casted his Wind track and left with Xiao Ke, as he was going back toward the top he saw the scene of monsters corpses laying everywhere. "I can't imagine the disaster these many would have made with their number by showing up all of a sudden if we hadn't taken any measures." Said Wenjie . " Yes that might have taken many innocent lives, just the thought gives be chills"
