CHAPTER#35:The birth of the guardian.

The pillar of light suddenly vanished. The hall was dead silent. I slowly looked up after a moment. So did the people around us. Luminaire got up and looked back. Her eyes were on Adrielle and Ignacio. The ceiling was on the verge of collapse as debris fell on the floor. Her expression soured. The dust cleared and faint figures started to appear.

"Impossible!"A cry from the crowd rose.

"look! Over there."Another guest pointed out towards Ignatius.

Adrielle collapsed on the floor wide-eyed with shock.

Ignacio was beside her. He had been protecting Adrielle under his scaly red wing.

The young boy looked up at the elderly man who stood astonished by the unprecedented miracle before his eyes. His eyes shone harboring new hope.

"The stone... It shattered!"He exclaimed causing the guests to murmur among themselves and gasp.

'What does this mean?'One whispered.

'The stone is destroyed?" the other voice rose.

'By a mere child? He's not even eight.'

The elderly man rose from his seat and tapped his cane on the stone dais. He coughed twice to get the crowd's attention to him.

"After centuries of waiting. This is the day when our ancestor father of dragons Drogon has been reincarnated! The pure guardian who will bring back the rule of dragons to this world."His voice roared and was followed by the uproar of the crowd.

Adrielle stood up horrified. She looked at her husband who was just as shocked as her.

Luminaire began to cry aloud. The crowd slowly stopped cheering and the voices died down. The focus went to the crying Luminaire.

Adrielle took her back in her arms from her nanny.

"Ignacio...this is enough for today."She said in a low voice.

"Come here, Ignatius."He called out.

The child ran back into his arms.

The guests left one after the other giving hearty wishes and prayers for the future guardian.

Ignacio smiled and returned their greetings more formally. Adrielle occasionally nodded her head to one or two.

The evening sky veiled the world. Adrielle put luminaire on the bed who slept soundly after she breastfed her.

Ignatius was laid beside his baby sister. He subconsciously held onto Luminaire's tiny hand and cozied back to sleep.

"You look tired."He sat beside her as she looked at her children.

"I'm fine."

"Why the long face then?"

At this, she burst up in frustration.

"For real? Guardian's reincarnation? And what more? The era of dragons?"She cried out.

"My love... Please calm down."

"How can I calm down Ignacio? They are my children. My blood, my life! Not some kind of tool to rule the world."The air around her compressed and created a faint purple ring around her.

"Calm down, Adrielle!"He hugged her tightly.

"They are our children. I can never see them being harmed by them even if they are my own people."

"I don't want to lose everything again Ignacio. I don't want to go back to the way I used to live."She hissed in fear.

"I will protect you and our children. So don't fear. I know there is a child in your womb. We should welcome Ig and Lu's young sibling with warm smiles."

-"How could this be? Adrielle was about to become a mother again?"

It was one surprise and then a shock after another.

"Let's move on."Luminaire snapped her fingers again.

The time was a week later.

"My lord! An important messenger has arrived."John their butler panted and was out of his breath.

Adrielle was reading a book to Ignatius and little Lu. She looked up her attention drew towards the butler's words.

"It's... The messenger from House Dracul my lord."He hesitated.

"Dracul?"I mumbled under my breath.

"The elder of the dragon tribe, "Luminaire confessed.

"Nidhogg Dracul..."He frowned and asked the messenger to be brought to the guest room.

"I'm coming with you," Adrielle asked the elderly nanny to take Ig and Lu to their room.

"You need to stay here. You can't stress in this condition."Ignacio protested but Adrielle stubbornly walked out of the room.

"Elle! Stop!"He called out and ran after her.

"Let's go."Luminaire grabbed my hand and hurried out of the sitting lounge into the hallway.

"Elle!"He grabbed her hand to stop her from going any further.

"Listen to me, Elle. Let me handle it myself."He tried his best to convince her.

"Just listen to me once."

She looked back at him in the eye. Her violet eyes were determined.

"Are you forgetting about your promise?" she asked him. Her expression remained unchanged.

"This is not the time for this."

"Then when? I will come with you. And that's my answer."She gently placed her slender hand on his cheek.

"They are our children."She smiled radiating confidence.

"If something happens. I will send you back."He wrapped his hand around hers.

They were escorted to the guest room where the messenger sat on a sofa.

"Greetings Lord and Lady Alduin."Magnus, Lord Nidhogg's attendant." he introduced himself. He was an average man in his early thirties about the same age as Ignacio with identical shoulder-length red hair with a hint of black. He had the same characteristic sharp black eyes. His expression was cold and steel as if he never smiled his whole life.

"He's bad news..."Luminaire broke into a cold sweat.

"Sending his personal attendant means that this will be no small business."Ignacio frowned.

"Indeed. Since I've brought the elder's message it is as you say... Not a small business." he replied sharply.

"Then let's hear what your elder has sent for me."He helped Adrielle sit on a more comfortable couch and then helped himself.

Magnus glanced at her and then back at Ignacio.

"Would your lady wife be pleased to hear the news as well?"He took out the letter and placed it on the table in front of him.

"No need."He refused and picked up the letter and tore the envelope and unfolded the yellowed parchment and held it close to his face.

His expression changed as he continued to read word after word to the end of its contents.

Adrielle looked at him concerned and anxious to know what the message held for them.

He looked at Magnus and back at the parchment.

-"It has the dragon blood seal." he broke into cold sweat.

"Dear?"She brought his attention to herself.

He looked at her but did not speak up.

-"How do I tell her about it?"
