CHAPTER#34: The way to resolve.

"What's written on it?" I wondered about it as Ignacio folded the parchment and put it on the table. "That letter is the root cause of this turmoil."Luminaire frowned.

"What do you mean?"

"Just keep watching."

"I'm over this suspense," I grumbled. "It's good that you are curious about the future."She smiled.

"Future? You mean past for me."I corrected her.

"Whatever."She snapped.

"Shut up!"I retorted in irritation. A spark that was about to emerge between us vanished when Magnus got up and walked past us and left the room. The couple was left all alone in the guest room. "Ignacio. Tell me about it."Adrielle persuaded him to confide in her. He let out a heavy sigh. "You won't back off if I don't tell you about this matter."He looked at her in her eyes.

"You know me well."Her eyes showed her determination.

"The elder of dragons wants me to bring Ignatius over to the head estate." He said spoke solemnly.

Adrielle gulped and waited for him to continue.

"If we disobey, there's no knowing to what extent they might go." He sighed.

"Dear, please don't fret. It is our job to protect our children. We'll try to find another way." She did her best to calm him.

"I will go talk to the elder. There was a case in the past when the wielder was made to transfer the power to another host. But the chances are slim." He explained.

-" Adrielle doesn't know most wielders die if the power is extracted from them. It is attached to the life force."

Luminaire watched them willfully. Her silence was louder than their voices. I could see that she was hesitant to go any further.

We watched the time skip as Ignacio bid them farewell to journey across the land to the steep valley where the head of the dragons resided.

We entered the old fortress building that had thick sturdy grey stone walls. The banners represented the dragon on a globe.

He walked until he arrived at the portcullis with iron ring handles. They were opened by the guards and allowed him in the yard.

We followed him and found him staring at the young dragons who had similar appearance like Ignacio and Ignatius.

The old dragon sat on the chair and observed their match. He seemed bored but suddenly rose up when he found Ignacio standing near the portcullis looking at him.

" Hah! There he is. Bring him to me." He ordered the manservant to escort Ignacio to him.

"I don't like the way he's looking at my father." Luminaire hissed.

"What a cunning fool." I retorted agreeing with her for once.

She nodded her head as we watched Ignacio walk through the trainees and trainers alike making way for him.

Niddhogg tilted his head in confusion raising a brow at the same time.

"Where is your young'n?" He asked without beating about the bush.

"I couldn't bring my ill son with me. The tiring journey could have worsened his condition." He replied unmoved.

For a moment there was a deafening silence.

Then there was a huge laughter that broke out following Niddhogg's.

Ignacio remained silent. He was not backing away with simply obeying their meaningless command.

"Ahh! Ignacio~ Ignacio. You're really something else." He chuckled.

"I'll take it as a compliment my lord." He responded straight faced.

"As expected of my grand nephew." He complimented him and rose from his seat and descended the flight of steps made from wooden planks.

" Are you mocking me right now, son?"

The aura around him darkened. Yet Ignacio remained unfazed and looked at him in the eye.

I shivered as I looked at them. The concentration in the air be ame dense. Luminaire gulped but couldn't bring herself to move away.

"W-whats happening?" I asked her looking around.

" Get him!" Niddhogg roared. The dragon kin surrounded him that surprised Ignacio. He looked around and winced.

"You have no dignity do you Niddhogg? Using your kin against your blood!" He called out to him.

" It was better to obey me Ignacio. That way it wouldn't have come to this."

" Do you think you'll revive the rule of dragons once again? Never! You'll only bring us our demise." He called out to him when a dragon kin hit him forcing him on his knees.

"Confine him in the lowest of dungeons." He ordered them.

"NIDDHOGG!!!" He screamed out trying to free himself.

"I'll have to bring my great grand nephew at all costs. Be a good lad in the meantime. Oh and I can't guarantee what may happen if that elf wife of yours shows me resistance." He sneered.

This time Ignacio snapped.

The dragon kin had him under their clutches.

"Don't ..." He glowered.

"Don't you dare lay a claw on my family!" He roared.

The dragon kin were sent flying at all directions as smoke filled the grounds.

"It's burning!" I cried.

"It's alright! The barrier won't let harm come near us." Luminaire assured me.

As the smoke slowly cleared I could do nothing but watch what was Infront of me in awe. My body refused to move an inch. My breathing became unstable because of fear if what I was witnessing.

"D-dragon?" I gulped when Luminaire helped me up.

"Get up! This isn't the time to sit around." She pulled me up.

Before us stood a thirty meter tall dragon.

"Look out! He's about to throw flames!" The dragon kin scattered.

And the next moment the entire residence was down in flames.

"If this is the only way to stop you then I will resort to it until my last breath, Niddhogg!"

Back in the residence Adrielle felt a sudden feeling of unease.

"Ignacio!"
