It's Been a Long Day

Knock! Knock!

"Mike, someone is knocking." Liza said sleepily.

"Hmmm. Let him knock." Mike said and tried to sleep again hugging Liza.

The knocking become persistent that irritated Liza.

Bang! Bang!

"Mike, let go. I need to check who is banging the door."

"I'll get it. You stay here and try to sleep more." Mike went to the door to check who is banging the door at 5:00 am.

"Thought you won't answer. Get up everyone should be at the training ground by 5:15. Alpha's orders."

"What? Why?"

"Everyone will be having their routine morning exercise. Part of your training until you start doing patrols and such." Zach, the head warrior of the pack said.

"We just arrived yesterday and haven't unpack."

"Alpha's orders. Get your ass moving, pup."

Mike shut the door and wake Liza.

"What was that?" Liza asked.

"Babe, we need to go to the training grounds. We have like 10 minutes. I'll get our clothes while you do your business in the bathroom. Don't take long."

Liza get up lazily and went to bathroom. to wash her face, brush her teeth and do her other business.

"Liz, hurry up. I still need to use bathroom."

"Yes. Yes, I am coming." Mike took his turn to do his business while Liza changed her clothes.

"Mike, why do we have to go there?"

"I don't have idea." Mike said changing his clothes. "We better go now. We are already late."

They rush to the field about 10 minutes walk from the pack house. Chris was already there but Marie is nowhere to be found. Some warriors are already present while the male teenagers are starting to show up.

"Chris, where is Marie? Why did they asked us to go here? It's still dark."

"Dad said we need to train. I left Marie with mom. She had been throwing up since 4.30."

"It will get better. It is her first trimester of pregnancy," Liza said comforting Chris.

"Thanks, Liz"

"Try catching some sleep after this, bro. You look like about to collapse."

"Everyone. Find a partner of same gender. then line up. We will do a warm up followed by basic attacks and defense then running," Zach shouted to the trainees. "We will start in 10 minutes."

After they everyone had found a partner they lined up in 6 rows and 4 columns. Mike partnered with Chris while Liza is with Samantha, Mike's cousin.

"So, I heard, your Mike's girl," Samantha said.

"Yes. And you are?"

"I am Samantha but you could call me Sam. I am very much related to Mike." Hearing this, the jealousy sparked in Liza's heart and Samantha saw this.

"Make sure you are not an open book. I could easily read you."

"Enough of the chitchats, start with warm up 20 minutes jog in place, 50 lounges and 50 jumping jacks."

Zach whistled and the training started. after 45 minutes they started the offence and defense training. He showed some moves for the beginners together with the help of some soldiers.

"You have 5 minutes water break and we will test your skills thereafter."

Sam made sure to add more fuel to the fire in Liza.

"Are you sure you are worthy of the title "Luna" of this pack? I doubt you could hurt an insect," Sam mocks her.

"Are you envious that I am Mike's mate?"

"I could easily dethrone you. You are not worthy."

Liza was beyond furious.

"Everyone grab your partner and start your one on one. You will have a facilitator. No killing of your partner or placing them in their coma."

Zach assigned a soldier to each pair so no one could be mishandled or slaughtered during the training.

"What the hell do you want!" Liza shouted gaining attention from everyone. She started attacking Sam in all possible ways she knows. Most of the attacks were missed or blocked but the blows she received hold much strength for someone who had no training since childhood.

"Is that all you could do? You are pathetic!"

This time, Sam is the one who attacked Liza. She tried to counterattack Sam but most of the punches Sam throws hit her and blows after blows hurt her so much until she fell to the ground shielding her body.

Everyone stopped their training to watch the brawl between Liza and Sam. Thei facilitator tried to stop them but Zach intervene to let them continue.

"You are just nothing to us!"

Liza saw an opening to Sam and kick her to her stomach making Sam staggered backwards. She pushes Liza to continue their fight.

"You are just one pathetic princess who knows nothing about us." Sam mocks and spit to her. Liza was so angry and felt humiliated that made her fury to drive her more. she used her palm to hit Sam that made her stumble and fell to the dirt.

"That is enough. Mike get your mate. Chis get a paramedic for Sam. The rest, you are dismissed," Zach ordered.

"I'm fine, dad. I could handle myself," Sam said while lying in the dirt resting and trying to catch her breathe. "She could have do more if you did not intervene."

Hearing this, Liza stopped in her tracks going to paramedics. "What do you mean I could do more?"

"You are an ass, Sam. Same old." Mike said angrily.

"Yeah, I am an ass. Continue babying her and we will all die, COUSIN." Sam retorted and emphasized the word cousin that made Liza confuse. The paramedics came to check Sam and Liza and was given first aid.

"She told me you are related to her. I never thought your her cousin. She acts like flirting you," Liza whispered to mike.

"Don't even think of coming near her or i will personally torture you to death."

The threat that Mike give made Liza more confused as to what was happening around her.

"Why did you say those things if you are his relative? Are you incest?"

"We need to see how much strength do you have and how much training you need," Sam explained. With the help of paramedic, She was up to her feet walking to the hospital for additional body check ups.

"Liza, please, if you come across to her, please, avoid her at all cost." Mike pleaded as he helped Liza walk to the hospital for check up.

"Why?"

"She likes you. She likes you since we were kids. There are so many other people here who wants to be your partner but she took advantage of it get close to you. Everyone here is afraid of her, it is always her call or you die."

"But she is able to help me get out of my comfort zone. She could help me train more."

"Please see it my way. She could do something to you."

"If She has a mate she should know better."

Mike knows he will not be able to win the argument with her. Once they were inside the hospital, she was checked for broken bones and was given medicine for her bruises.

"We heal faster than the average human. and since you are a half witch and half lycan, you heal slower than us but faster than humans. Hopefully tomorrow your, bruises would fade and take this medicine for body pains." the pack doctor told.

After handing over the medicines, they went back to the pack house to have their lunch. They were informed that Sam was taking a rest to recover from the internal damage she received in the last hit that Liza gave.

"You will be having lessons this afternoon about the pack. Alpha Max is the one who will give lectures about it, kids. Make sure that Marie will be able to join," Zach informed them as he joined their lunch.

"Yes, she will join. She said she feels better now," Chris said entering the kitchen to have his fill.

"Where is she?" Liza asked.

"In our room getting ready for the lecture later. I already gave her lunch if that's what you want to ask."

"How's sweet!"

"She is his air he breathes... the words he speaks... You will know once you had to be with him a whole day without Marie."

"Are you drinking vinegar, Mike?"

"Shut up! Get your food and leave. You are not needed here"

Zach was not able to hold his laughter at the show he had witnessed in front of him.

"It is still early but I am already watching a new show. Hahahaha! You act better than my favorite show."

Mike throws his fries to Zach.

"Hey! Don't waste food. there too many people not eating properly and you are just throwing it."

"Arrrghhh! Liza hurry up!" Mike said leaving the table.

"Sit down and eat your food. I am eating in peace."

Mike followed and eat slowly and silently with bruised pride. Chris and Zach stopped messing around and eat to their heart's content silently. The patrols started to come and have their food. They notice that there is a tension so they keep their voices down or kept quiet and eat silently.

After 15 minutes, Liza put her dishes followed by Mike and Chris. They went to their room to take a rest before heading to the office of the Alpha for their lecture about the history of the lycanthrope and werewolves than would last for two hours.

Their routing for two weeks had been the same: training in the morning, lecture in the afternoon. Every night, Liza had been complaining of the body pains due to their routine while Mike complains about the boredom in lecture. Sometimes, Chris is late or miss the morning training due to morning sickness of Marie. but they make sure to attend in the afternoon lecture. If Chris was not able to attend the morning training, he asks Zach to train him in the evening.

The tension between Sam and Mike gets worse while Liza and Sam had already apologize to each other for starting at the wrong foot. During their free time, Sam is with Liza and Marie hanging out while the boys are having their own time but they keep an eye to their mates is Samantha is around.
