Chapter Six

"I don't want word getting out of this" the albino man ordered, standing in front of the four Guards, starring them with a cold, unforgiving gaze which they all had learned to avoid and keep their heads bowed. "She wasn't important to begin with"

"The fact that someone murdered one of our own inside the castle is something that the others should be infromed of" Oliver's words put the other three on alert as they tried even harder to stay still and avoid their rulers gaze who slowly got up and made his way to stand in front of the blonde.

Everybody stiffened when the man raised his hand, his palm coming into contact with Olivers cheek causing his head to fall to the side yet no expression of pain or anger was on his face,he was emotionless. With the same emotionless expression he straightened his neck, ignoring the burning feeling on his cheek from the rings on the kings fingers, he met the mans angry eyes.

"You four will keep your mouths shut." he spat out "It's already bad enough you lost the girls mother and the brat she had with her. Who knows where she could be spreading out information." he took a deep breath from the nose trying to calm his nerves, before putting on a kind smile, grabbing a handkerchief from the side of his office desk patting Oliver's fresh wound softly.

"At least you got the girl," he congratulated in a much softer tone "good job"

Once out of the kings office they walked away without letting out a word but when they had reached a satisfactory distance, Elijah spoke, in a quite voice "What were you thinking, Ollie?"

The blonde man just pressed the handkerchief on his cheek, keeping quite while ignoring the three pairs of eyes glued to his side.

"You got off lucky this time," started James, not as softly as Elijah, "you should-"

"Arguing won't do anything" Mason mumbled, fidgeting the hem of his favourite pastel pink sweater managing to defuse the upcoming screaming match between James and Oliver, or maybe even James and Elijah. Whichever it was, James would be an active partaker.

"Come on," Mason took Oliver's hand softly leading him away "I'll help you with that"

As the four men went their seperate ways they failed to notice purple eyes watching them from the top of the stairs hidden in the shadowy corner. The girl pulled on her tongue piercing in annoyance before climbing up the stairs in a hurry, headed to her pastel pink room.

Elijah entered her room with a tray in one hand and a blood bag in the other. If this was taken out of context that would seem as the start of a joke. The albino greeted him without looking at him as she was too busy building her playmobile castle on the floor next to her bed.

The man set down her tray on the bed before taking a seat next to her on the floor, watching her intense gaze on her creation. Shifting his gaze from her face to her half made castle he did not fail to notice that it was eerily similar to the castle he had be living in for some time.

" They have that in playmobile?"

"No, I opened three different playmobile castles and gathered the pieces I needed" she said, gesturing at the three opened boxes seatting abandoned in front of the wooden closet. He looked at the girl amused.

"You are pretty stubborn"

"The goal and the final result are worth it." she added absentmindedly.

"Is there anyting I can do?"

Finally, the girl straightened her back, looking at him "Why didn't Oliver come today? I thought he was the one in charge of keeping me alive "

Elijah, as always composed, answered with a small smile playing on his lips "Its not just his job. "

"Is he tired of me already?" she asked gathering some playmobile pieces from next to her.

The man furrowed his dark eyebrows in confusion at her question "He just needed a rest. Vampires also want sleep, even if its not as necassary as for humans-"

"How long can vampires go without sleep?" She finished the left wing tower. "Does it have something to do with age?"

"Why do you ask that?"

Elijah was never known to be an idiot, so it wasn't difficult to notice the tense atmposphere they had created with a seemingly harmless talk. Yet, he couldn't help but feel suffocated and at the same time confused by the young girls attitude which seemed much different than her usual childish one. This one was like she was interrogating him, much more serious than he would have ever expected. Lots of questions passed through his mind, most of which had to do with the fact that she up to something.

All those thoughts vanished once she started laughing, hiding her face. Once the laughter died down, she looked at him with a smile adorning her childish face "I'm planning on ordering a saxophone and going around the halls when the younger vamps are sleeping"

The man smiled in relief " Do you think that will anger them enough?"

"I think so, yeah. But you shouldn't push your luck with them. "

"Yeah, they could stage an accident" the girl continued to smile

That made the dark skinned man give a small laugh as he shifted his weight on his left hand "Who told you that?"

"Oliver" she took her eyes away from him and back to the castle, continuing in a softer, much more sincere tone "But I'm trapped, If i don't do something like that, I think I'll surely go mad. Not to mention, you are hiding my mom and brother from me. Where are you hiding them, by the way?"

He gave her a look "Nice try" he said as he made a start to get up "I left your food on the bed"

"I know"

"I better find it empty when i come back"

"Okie dokie" she continued smiling at him as he walked to the door and out of her room. Following the sound of his footsteps fading, her smile fell and she turned her attention back to the castle, humming a small song.

Still humming, she got up making her way to the tray of food that was seatting on the bed. She pouted "I don't like eggs"
