Chapter Eight

"What do you think you are doing, exactly?"

Three vampires stood in front of Cheryl, seething.

Cheryl gave them the most innocent look she could manage, and pointed at herself "Me?" she asked feigning cluelessness.

"Who else could have screamed?" asked a young looking man with long fiery red hair, narrowing his dark eyes at his kings bastard. Even though his angry eyes made her muscles tense, a fact she tried to cover by crossing her arms, she continued with her innocent act

"Yeah, I heard that as well" she looked around the hall as if searching for something. Seemingly giving up on her search she set her eyes back to the three vampires "but I can't seem to find where it came from"

This seemed to make the three even more angry so Cheryl decided that this was her moment to retreat. With a shrug she turned to leave only it appeared that she wouldn't live to see another day since once she turned her back to the three she came face to face with at least ten other vampires, who were obviously victims of her scream.

Now, she would propably be their victim. Still, she cleared her throat, she had to try to find her way out of this "Excusez- moi" she said moving to wiggle around the many vampires that had gathered around her only for a buff female to grab her shoulders in her iron grip.

The woman smirked catching Cheryl's wide eyes, which slowly narrowed into a glare. "Oh, don't leave. The party is just getting started, sweetie"

"Well, I would love to stay and party once you let go of me" Cheryl said scanning the woman's face. She was really pretty, with big lips, high cheekbones and a set of sharp, kinda hooded dark eyes.

"You are cute" said a male standing close to them, as if speaking to a child, he stroked her white hair. Cheryl followed his movements from the corner of her eyes as she felt her a pain in her gums, her fangs slowly coming out just in case. The man continued to stroke her hair "So small. You are barely a bite"

Her head whipped to the mans direction almost startling him, not just because of the sudden movement but mostly due to her glare. She knew that her glare wasn't exactly flattering but she always enjoyed the effect it had on some people and seeing as it made the man freeze and halt his movements it was safe to assume it did its job.

It took a second for her to scan his face, most importantly it wasn't easy to miss the scar that covered from his neck up to his left eye. It was a burn mark, one that he was obviously insecure of as he tried to cover some of it with a dark blue turtle neck but also not wanting to admit he is insecure about it. Hence why she decided to stare at it to point where the man covered it with his hand causing the girl to look at him in the eyes and smile.

Noticing the mans discomfort the woman shook the girls shoulders to redirect her attention back to her, and she got what she wanted. Cheryl, still adorning a smile, looked at her "Jealous?"

Growling, the woman picked the girl off the ground as if she was a doll causing Cheryl to gasp and shake her legs wildly. The other vampires around her laughed but Cheryl was far too busy looking around "I've never seen the world from so high up " she realized.

"Well, yeah, you are pretty short "

"I'm a short queen, fuck off"

"Great and now that you experienced something like that, its time for the party "

Before the vampires could do what they had in mind a voice cut them off "What's going on here?"

"Oh, thank God for plot armor" sighed the albino in relief, opening her eyes which she had previously closed in fear.

"Oh, hey Mason!" Cheryl opened her arms enthusiastically once her feet touched the ground and the woman let go of her "I was getting acquainted" she hugged the buff woman who was still in shock, just like the other vampires, at the girls behavior.

"You sure?" Mason shoved his hands in the pockets of his black sweat pants observing the way the young vampires had surrounded the half breed

"Of course, Mase!"

Still, Mason continued to stare them down, the vampires and Cheryl who all wore different kinds of expressions, which weren't comptable with the half breeds version of the story. He managed to quickly catch on, and with a cold glare he send them a warning. Of course this way of communication can be interpreted in many ways, depending on the person.

For the vampires, it was something along the lines of 'Stay away from the girl by the Kings orders...', followed by a very gruesome threat. They all nodded being fully aware of the saverity of the situation.

As for Cheryl, the warning wasn't that different 'Stay out of trouble', in addition to 'Come with me'.

She nodded as well.

After all the nodding and silent agreement Mason turned around, waiting for Cheryl to follow him. Which she did, she skipped to his side suddenly feeling very jolly after she put a hand around the buff woman, bringing her closer and pulling her down to her level. Her pale lips touched the womans cheek gently before making their way to her ear "See you later, sweetheart" she breathed, grazing her fangs along the womans ear causing a small gasp to leave the womans lips.

Just as the two were about to turn the corner Cheryl managed to send a wink to the vampires over her shoulders without Mason noticing, or so she hoped.

A good ten minutes had passed since they walked away from the young vampires that were about to bite the albinos head off when Mason opened his mouth to voice his thoughts, only for the young girl to cut him off.

"Can we go to the garden?"

"What?"

"The garden"

"No"

"Please?"

"Nope"

"Pleasssssssssse"

"No."
