Christmas is just in three days and so far, we've got ourselves a tree, successfully decorated it plus the house and a few presents have been placed under the tree.
Chris has planned to taking me on a mystery date today and insisted of coming to pick me up. I have no idea of what to wear, I tried asking him so he'd maybe give me a clue but he refused instead he just asked me to wear something nice.
Cass dragged me to her closet just to find something to wear, according to her, nothing in my closet is appropriate for this date. I majorly have office wears and official gowns and since I never get to go out, I didn't see the need to buy more casual dresses.
She brought out a black thin strapped dress that hugged my body like a second skin and showed my long legs since it didn't reach my knees.
"I can't wear this Cass, its too tight and short, plus almost half of my boobs are showing, am I going to wear any bra in this?" I said trying to raise the dress up to cover my beasts and still pulling it down to reach my knees.
"He won't be able to take his eyes of you just as you weren't able to take your eyes of him yesterday. Maybe you'll get laid today who knows" she said teasingly. I aimed a pillow at her but she dodged just in time.
"Jesus Cass what do you take me for?" I said still checking the dress out in the mirror.
"My little slut" I threw a pillow at her and this time it hit her in the face.
"Alright alright I'm sorry but please Tee, you look really great in this dress, please wear it for me" she started batting her lashes and pouting her lips.
"Alright fine, jeez is this how you get Michael to do things for you?" She gave me a sly smirk.
"Oh honey, its nothing like this" she said as a very dirty smirk carefully appeared on her lips.
"You dirty little thing" she started to giggle and I just shook my head continuously.
"Unbelievable".
Who would have thought Cass would be this expressive? And to think she was the shy one between the both of us.
I started getting ready closely an hour to the arrival of Chris. I spent a long time in the shower trying to imprint the scent of my strawberry shampoo to my hair as I washed my hair several times longer. I went to giving my hair some slight curls trying not to kill the idea that the hair should still have a more straight look.
After doing my hair and applying a bit of make up to make my face stand out, I put on the dress with my almost white heels with transparent straps.
When I got downstairs, Chris was already waiting for me in the living room. Cass and Michael should be out by now because she mentioned it earlier and mom called to say she'll be home a bit late since she's catching up with an old friend. The house is practically empty.
My eyes landed on him before he even noticed me, my heart skipped a beat as I carefully checked him out, he looked more handsome than ever in his black jeans and white shirt with a denim jacket and sneakers to complete the look. He looked so handsome. I walked further down the stairs capturing his attention, he turned abruptly and paused, he let out a deep breath before walking towards me. He had this look in his eyes that I couldn't interpret but I liked it.
"You look beautiful as always" he said a broad smile appeared on his face. I could feel the heat from my cheeks evident that I was blushing like crazy, I tried to hide that fact by hooking my arm to his and gesturing to the door.
The ride was quiet at first, I was desperately trying my best to start up a conversation but nothing was coming. He turned the radio on and a familiar song boomed through the speaker. I didn't even care that he was looking at me, I sang out loud like a crazy person as a broad smile plastered itself on my face. Halfway into the song, he joined me, I had to stop and turn to him because his voice...oh my God, it had this calming effect, not too loud and definitely captivating, he sang so effortlessly like he didnt even have to try. I was actually ashamed of my own crooked voice so I just let him sing it all.
"Where'd you learn to do that?" I managed to ask when the song was over. He glanced at me briefly before turning back to the road ahead.
"I was in a boys choir. My parents took me to an all boys catholic boarding school in England throughout high school"
He said with his eyes still focused on the road.
I nodded as laughter erupted from my mouth before I could even stop it.
"What?" He briefly glanced at me again with a confused smile.
"You went to a catholic boarding school, all boys? I don't believe you. I can't imagine you wearing those their cute matching uniforms, uniform haircut and all that, you've got to be kidding me" I laughed again.
"Its true, and I can tell you those uniforms were nothing near cute" he chuckled after my laughter echoed in the car.
"How come you never talk about your family?" Immediately my question got to him, he tensed up and sighed.
"We're not as close as we used to be anymore, everyone got busy like me for instance. My relationship with my parents is not all that good, I mean I try with my mom, we talk a bit but not too often but for my dad, we don't talk, he only calls when he's got emergency for me to handle. All my life he's been very strict with me expecting that I learn all I need to just to take over the company from him. I love them both despite everything, I knew they all mean well for me but I guess I also have a life to live and listen to myself sometimes. I have an older sister, she's married now with two children and lives halfway across the world with her husband, I'm closer to her mostly and I relate with her better but these days she's been real busy trying to open up a business of her own, she's been dying to meet you" he gave me a short glance as he turned back to the road.
" really? I'd love to meet her" I said with a very excited squeal. He chuckled at my childish character.
"What's her name?"
"Leah. She's coming over next month for my parent's anniversary so I guess you too can meet then" I gave him the widdest grin I could produce.
"That would be great, really looking forward to meet her"
We got to a fancy restaurant. Chris didn't even say a word as a waitress showed us to a room different from the restaurant.
"Uh...Chris we didn't have to go too far, this is too expensive don't you think?" I said worry laced in my voice. He only flashed me a smile.
"Don't worry about the money, I don't care plus this restaurant belongs to my family, its one of our branch that just opened"
"What is it your family does again?" He chuckled and led me to my seat.
We had dinner and talked about a lot of things mostly about us and I guess I wasn't the only one wondering where all this was headed for us.
After dinner, he drove down a long scanty road. He made a stop in an isolated area that looked like a forest.
"Have you brought me here to kill me and dispose of the evidence Mr Murray? This place is too isolated" he took my hand in his
"I want to show you something. Trust me" I slowly nodded and followed him.
He led me to a beautiful part of the forest with a little pond at the side, a lot of flowers scattered around giving it a colorful look and different lights at each corner illuminating the whole place, I turned to face him.
"What is this place?"
"This is my favorite place in the whole world. When I was younger I found this place and since then I always came here to clear my head especially when my family started having serious issues on the verge of falling apart" he said with a pained look in his eyes. "As the years passed, I started growing all these flowers and also fixed these lights but lately I haven't had the time to come around I thought I should show you" he finished with a faltering smile.
"Wow, you did all this. Its so beautiful but I don't —"
"Look I know I suck at anything romantic and I wouldn't want to waste any more time, I'll just go straight to the point. Every moment I spend with you is the best thing ever. Of every woman I've met in my life, no one can measure up to you. Gosh I suck at this—"
"No no, go on its working" I smiled at him
"I'm in love with you and I really think I see future with you, I never want to let go and loose you. You make me happy and that's all I can ask for, so Tina......will you be my girlfriend?" I could sense in his voice how nervous he was. I smiled broadly at him, I was happy he finally asked even if my stubborn head wouldn't agree.
"Yes Chris I'll be your girlfriend" I can't hide this anymore
"I think I really like you a lot" I blurted out. He looked shocked and wanted to say something but I shut him up as my lips landed on his in a slow kiss. I can't believe I've been running away from this. I really do like him a lot and I hope this lasts.
