As the man attacked, I managed to arrive on time, standing in front of Solaris, and blocking the man's attack with my kunai. The impact made from his blade and my super charged kunai moonlight created a big impact resulting in the man to be blown back several steps away. It shocked Solaris and the man. The symbol that I hid on my left hand shined brighter than ever. As it was dark which corresponded to my Kiyomeru, I absorbed the energy to increase my power.
"Shit! This is bad!" The man exclaimed, his voice filled with fear. He went to the woman. Before they had a chance to do something, I summoned up several kunai, and with a single snap, the kunai charged with full strength and speed towards them. Darkness was where I would shine the best.
"No way...Silver Moon...!" The man muttered, in shock
The moment the kunai hit, dust rose surrounding the man and woman. As the dust cleared up, both of them disappeared, and the barrier also vanished, allowing Zander to come in. He immediately went to Raiden. Considering that Raiden was in the worst shape than Solaris, I could understand why he went to him.
Solaris was still shocked and speechless. I noticed that the boy was confused about what was going on. It turned out that while he was playing around, then he hit his head on a rock and was unconscious. It seemed as though he was alright other than the bruise.jl
"How? When?" Solaris asked in a confused tone
"I'll explain later!" I said, prioritising Raiden's health. Using something so strong would put a strain on the user's body if they're not prepared for it.
Zander was carrying Raiden in his arms as he walked towards us. Raiden was unconscious. Once Rainer arrived, I explained to him what had happened. Raiden and the boy went to the hospital alongside Zander while Solaris and I went to the Exorcist headquarters. That was where I told Solaris about the Usagi Kiyomeru.
-Flashback-
Rainer decided to bring me to visit the Night Household after continuously asking questions about the Household. Rainer went to the Night Household because of a family meeting that was held every month. While he was in his family meeting, I went exploring the gigantic place. It was what I had expected from the Night household, massive and spacious. Though, it didn't give any vibe of luxury mostly, but mostly comfort and warmth. I heard a girl's voice calling me. I looked around, and no one was around.
"Come here!" The girl's voice called out. I followed the girl's voice, who repeatedly called me to go to where she was. I found myself going down the staircase, ending up in the basement of the Night Household. Several artifacts and some random boxes filled the basement. The girl's voice came from one of the boxes. I went to what appeared to be brand new and cleaned. I opened the box, and inside was a beautiful silver kunai with a character that reads moon at the blade close to the handle. I grabbed the kunai.
A flash of light came from it, when I opened my eyes, I found myself in a meadow. I looked and walked around to figure out where I was.
"My, my! What a splendid, loving girl you are!" The same voice said. I turned around and was surprised to see a girl with bunny ears and a tail. She appeared to be a kid around 110 centimeters in height, had snow-white waist-length hair ending in a light pale pink shade. Her eyes were gun-metal grey clear, resembling the bright moon. She was wearing a kimono reaching to the knee with moon and star pattern resembling the night sky. Rabbit ears, petite kid body, and a kimono, I immediately knew who she was.
"You're the Usagi Kiyomeru Spirit?"
"So, Rainer did tell you who I am! He also told me a lot about you, Selene!"
"You still can communicate with him? I thought the contract between you two ended a year ago?"
"True, but there is a special bond between us that cannot be replaced, and thanks to that we were able to communicate! A bond between spirits and humans allowed us to communicate freely whether we are contracted or not!"
"So, what is it you want from me?"
She looked at me from head to toe and grinned. I felt the ground shake. The ground crack, and coming from it were several thick vines. I instantly moved back. However, it also came from behind as well as from the left and right. I jumped as high as I could, landing on top of the vines. I felt something coming from behind at a rapid pace. I shifted my body to the left, just barely missing the dagger.
"What was that for?!"
"Just testing out your reflexes! There is more where that came from!"
I looked up and saw rows and rows of daggers. With a single snap, all of it came flying towards me at a rapid pace. I jumped back away, missing some of it. However, there were many more to come. I did several back-flips and a front flip to avoid the ones at the back. When she said she was testing my reflexes, she was not joking. I had to rely on them to dodge all of that daggers. I decided to grab two of the daggers and reflected some of them back to each other while dodging at the same time.
After several rounds, I managed to dodge everything she threw at me. She seemed to be impressed.
"You got nice reflexes, maybe even better than Rainer's!"
"What's next?"
"You still have energy after that?"
"No, not really! I want to get this over with!"
"Hm...Do you have any questions you want to ask me?" She smirked, her eyes telling me that she had made up her mind.
"Um...I still don't get how this Kiyomeru works! Rainer never explained it to me in detail about it!"
"Kiyomeru relies on both its element energy and also the wielder's energy, so that means the wielder needs to have high enough stamina and endurance to use it properly. The wielder would collapse from exhaustion if used carelessly or when using the unique move, which requires a lot of elemental energy, if element energy is low then the wielder’s energy would be used to replace it!
Once you acquired a Kiyomeru, a mark would appear on your body, that would mean that you have entered a contract with the Spirit. That mark would help you indicate whether your Kiyomeru is low or high. If the mark is bright and shines it means that the element energy is high and would appear more faded when it's low. Once you create a contract with the spirit of the Kiyomeru, you could use the spirit's powers and abilities. These powers could be used alongside or fused with the Kiyomeru weapon! It's better if you learn it as you go along!"
I thought about what she explained and thought that I would need to have high stamina and endurance to use a Kiyomeru efficiently.
"What's your name?"
"Luna!” After a couple more minutes of talking back and forth, I felt like I was talking to a sister than a Spirit. She randomly asked, “Do you want to form a contract with me?"
"Huh? What's with that all of a sudden?"
"As we were talking earlier, it made me want you to wield the Usagi Kiyomeru even more. For some reason, I have a feeling that you would play a big role in the upcoming future! So, what do you say? You’re in or out?”
RAINER NIGHT
I managed to finish that annoying family meeting quickly. I was searching for where Selene was. I even asked the butlers and maid if they knew where she was, but no one knew where she was.
"She couldn't have been kidnapped...right?" I mumbled in fear, imagining a gang had entered and took her away.
"That's impossible, Sir!"
"Then, don't tell me she ran away?!" I exclaimed, thinking back at how I treated her. Maybe I should have treated her a bit better.
"No, Sir! She just went to the basement, I believe!"
"Oh, why didn't you tell me sooner, Trevor? So, she went to the basement?"
"Yes, Sir!"
"Why would she go to the basement?” After thinking for some time, I remembered something that may be the reason why she went down. I went to the basement, and just like I had expected, Selene was sleeping on the ground, and the Usagi Kiyomeru kunai was not in the case. I looked at her left hand and saw the mark. A crescent moon with the symbol of a rabbit inside the crescent moon, appearing as though the moon was hugging the rabbit. I felt proud that she got the Usagi Kiyomeru at the age of sixteen. She opened her eyes.
"Rainer?"
"Looks like you made the contract with Luna. Am I right?"
"Yeah, how did you know?"
She immediately knew the answer to it when I looked at her left hand. She seemed to be happy about it, but with that poker face it was hard to tell. Right after she stood back on her feet, she requested me to train her as I had previously wielded it. I would naturally be the first person to ask for guidance.
I pretended to be thinking about it, to see what she was thinking. I saw that her green emerald eyes were burning with determination instead of emptiness. Training under me would bring a lot of benefits, she might be able to do better than the boys as time passes. I was curious as to why she wanted to train so badly, maybe she wanted to help kill the demons or...
"Why are you so determined to train?"
Selene appeared to be gathering her thoughts. Seeing her like this reminded me of when she was thinking about something serious. Selene answered, “Because I wanted peace, a world where no blood would be shed, no war, no destruction, and people would be safe! Luna said that I could do it..."
"So, you wanted to start as soon as possible to increase that chance?"
"You don't mind, right? You could reject it if you want."
"I would love to help you!"
I recommended that we begin training tomorrow. Instead of telling the boys, I wanted to keep the fact that Selene already wielded a Kiyomeru a secret from the others. I wanted Selene to be comfortable with the Kiyomeru so that she could keep up the training alongside the rest. I also had a plan to announce it to them, maybe a grand entrance where the boys are in trouble, and she would jump in full with energy and strength.
-End of Flashback-
"Seriously, that plan of yours is stupid and so you!" Solaris said annoyingly
"Were you surprised?" Rainer teasingly asked
"Of course! Who wouldn't be?" Solaris replied
Currently, the major problem was that the seal I placed twenty five years ago that sealed the demons was gone, which means they would attack us anytime and anywhere. I was worried that regular citizens would be harmed, and they would cause a massive panic. I need to figure out how to make the announcement without causing a panic, and to let them have a normal life. I would be placing the same rules and regulations used when the demons were around.
Thanks to new and improved technology, I managed to find a way to improve the security and make sure everyone feels safe. I mentioned that the demons would be taking a cautious approach in their attack as they were sealed for decades of years, so they don't know how the world had changed. Those two they had met must have been sent to see what had changed.
"As Raiden managed to knock out a high-ranking demon and Solaris being able to manage, would make them even more cautious! For now, leave everything to me and focus on training and improving those techniques I taught you!" I said, patting Selene’s head gently
"Alright!" She replied
SELENE
A couple of days later, Raiden had woken up and was feeling better and energetic. News that a war would rise once more and demons would appear spread like wild-fire. A bracelet could be used to protect the person from a threat long enough to escape or for Exorcists or police to arrive at their location. Rainer informed everyone to use it whenever they feel unsafe, though try not to abuse it.
The bracelet was lightweight, as well as fashionable. For Exorcist, the functions would be the same with the addition that it would alert us if someone close by is unsafe. The announcement was made just as the school term was about to begin. I didn't want to stand out on my first day, so I decided to hide the mark with a black fingerless glove instead of make-up.
I wore a navy blue knife-pleated skirt, a white button-up shirt, scarlet red blazer with golden trim, a red tie, and mid-thigh black stockings. It was comfortable and looked good. Phones were allowed, but the only time the students could use them was during breaks, before classes start, and after school. Rainer insisted on driving to school, but I refused and instead used the trains. If Rainer drove me, it would ruin my plan on having a low-profile school life.
I had a feeling that I wouldn’t be able to accomplish that. The moment I entered the school ground, I could feel the other students staring at me and gossiping with one another. My earlier bad feeling might be coming true after all. I met Kaylin in her office, where she told me about my class and introduced me to my homeroom teacher, Oliver Neason. He was also the Maths teacher. He was about 175 centimeters tall with an average male build. He appeared to be sharp and stern but his words were soft and gentle.
