New friend and enemy

"Good morning, students! Today there will be a new student joining you all, treat her well!" Mr. Neason said

I made my way inside the classroom, standing beside the teacher in front of the board. I looked around and spotted Solaris and Raiden at the very back. Rainer must have planned to put me in the same class as them.

"Hello, my name is Selene! I'll be in your care!" I bowed slightly. There were six columns and four rows of single tables, totaling it to be twenty-five. I would be sitting right by the window, behind Raiden and Solaris on the right side of me. As I settled down, Solaris whispered, "Need anything just tell! I'll introduce you to a friend so later stay back during lunch time!"

I nodded.

After four subjects, it was finally lunchtime. Everyone went to the cafeteria except for Solaris, Raiden, another boy, and me.

"This is Lukas Blaze, a childhood friend of ours!" Solaris said. Lukas had the same height as Solaris and had a similar build to Solaris. He had bright scarlet red hair and clear turquoise eyes.

"Nice to meet you, Selene! These two and Rainer had been talking about you a lot!"

Lukas was an Exorcist as well, receiving the Inu Kiyomeru at the same time as Solaris and Raiden. After a brief talk, we went to the cafeteria together. The school menu was relatively low, for students with a low budget to buy. There are some healthy options to eat. After buying my lunch, I went to find an empty table to sit.restaurant

I decided not to eat with the boys to minimize the attention that I'm receiving. I noticed a table with only one student. If I remember correctly, she was in the same class as me. She had shoulder-length black hair and lavender eyes. She seemed to be lonely, and so I decided to approach her.

"Can I sit here?" I asked. She just nodded, I sat down across her. I noticed that she had slightly longer bangs that covered part of her eyes.

"Your name is Serena, right?"

"Yeah...how did you know?"

"We're the same class, so of course, I would recognize you!"

She seemed to be surprised that I recognized her, and I could see slight happiness in her. It seemed as though she wasn't used to people noticing her or even remembering her name. Her eyes turned dark again as she asked, "Why would someone like you eat with someone like me?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"It's just that you're so beautiful and already got the attention of the boys while I am just an ugly nobody! I thought that you would prefer to sit with those popular kids!"

From those words, I immediately knew that she had low self-esteem and wasn't sure of herself. That was why she decided to distance herself, to not feel even worse.

"Beauty does not define who you are! It's what is the inside that counts!" I leaned closer to her. I brushed her fringes away from her face. She had a beautiful appearance, however, probably due to having low self-esteem or due to something. She decided to grow out her bangs to hide it.

"You're beautiful as well! You're more beautiful than you think you are!"

SELENE SHERWIND

Her face was so close. I could see all the tiny details of her facial features. She had a v-shaped face shape, a small nose, cute perfect plump shape lips, and big emerald green eyes. 'She's so pretty!' was what I first taught when I first saw her. Her aura was mysterious. She is indeed beautiful. I moved my head away from her, arranging my bangs the way it was before.

I expected her to be a bit cold, considering how she appeared to be emotionless, but she was kind and warm. Talking to her somehow made me feel calm and relaxed. Her words had a lot of emotions. We talked as we ate our meals. For the first time in years, someone was interested in what I was talking about and wasn't calling me weird or disgusting. It was warm…!

As usual, I was talking on and on, and unconsciously said that I like to read Boy Love and have a strong support to LGBTQ. When I realized it, I closed my mouth and expected her to react the same way as how everyone else would react. I lost a person to talk to again...

As she opened her mouth, I expected the worse scenario hut instead she asked, "Would you recommend me some of those Gay comics, especially the BL one?"

I was surprised. "Huh? You're not disgusted by it? You don't think I'm weird?"

"Of course not! You're not weird everyone has their own taste and opinion, and to be frank, I am curious about these whole BL mangas and LGBTQ!"

I was happy to hear that. No one I talked to had the same interest as me, and often call me weird for thinking something different. Right now, someone was interested in it, and didn't call me weird. I could feel warmth in my heart, that I couldn't help but smile.

"Mind recommending me something?"

"Sure thing!"

"Are you interested in reading books as well?"

"Yeah! Do you?"

"Sure do! You were reading something earlier, right? Mind if I take a look at it?"

"Oh….yeah!" I took out the novel I placed underneath a blanket. "This is actually

"Thanks, Serena! I'll definitely read it!"

Before Selene could get the book, someone took it out of my hand. When I looked up, it was Maria, the spoiled princess. She may look beautiful, but she was not kind at all, more like a mean, spoiled girl. All the guys go after her because of her looks. Now that Selene came here, I had a feeling that more guys would go after her than Maria. Selene was more beautiful than Maria and was also kind-hearted.

"What do we have here? The nerd weirdo is trying to spread her germs to the new kid!" Maria sarcastically said, giving her usual smirk

"Give it back...please!"

"Mm...no way! You want it, then take it from it!"

I stood up to get the book, but just like usual, she tossed it to one of her 'minions'. I gave up trying. Maria had the book once more.

"Ew! Gross! Only a nerd would read something disgusting!" Maria said. Instead of just giving me that book, she tore out pages from the book and scattered them on the floor. Maria poured water on top of me like usual, everyone laughed. It was something she would usually do

"Here you go!" She said, tossing me the cover. I kneeled down to get the pages. Selene kneeled down as well to help me.

"Hey, new girl! You don't have to hang out with the nerd! Why don't you hang out with us, instead?"

Selene didn't respond and continued to gather the papers together. Maria became pissed off as she dislikes not getting the attention.

"Hey, are you listening to me?" Maria shouted, placing her hand on her shoulder, which Selene immediately swatted away. The aura around Selene changed to something dark and cold, so did her once clear eyes became empty and dark. She glared at Maria, saying in an icy tone, "Don't touch me with those filthy hands!"

All of us were stunned by her actions. No one had tried to say that to her, as far as I know. Maria was surprised then became angry.

"You dare talk to me like that! Don't you know who I am?!"

"No! Who are you?"

Maria's face turned red and roared, "I'm Maria Landree, the heiress of the Landree group! I-"

"Are there any pages missing?" Selene asked me. Her ignoring what Maria said made her even more furious. I was surprised at how Selene acted. Landree Group was an elite family group, and Maria used that power to her advantage in the wrong way possible, making everyone her pawns and acting like a spoiled kid. It was horrible at how people could abuse power like that.

It was the first time someone acted like Selene to her. I wonder what she was thinking inside. Maria was furious and shouted, "Hey, are you even listening to me?!"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah! Part of the Landree family, the spoiled princess brat, rude attention seeking princess, that is riding on Daddy's fame and money and maybe a slut!"

Everyone gasped and was astonished, and Maria was stunned and bright red. Selene walked towards her with a strange, dark, cold aura. The pressure that she gave off gave me shivers, and I noticed that I was trembling and couldn't move. I noticed that everyone else was also shaking and wasn't moving. Everyone had fear in their eyes, including Maria.

"What do you want again?" Selene asked in a threatening tone

"Y-y-you'll r-regret this!"

"Yeah, right! Go run to your Daddy, and tell him you made a big mistake!"

"W-why you-"

Maria seemed to be scared that she couldn't say what she often says when someone defies her. Anyone would be scared around Selene as she gave this immense pressure like what you would feel when you're close to a demon or a monster. I couldn't believe she was the same girl that spoke to me so gently and kind with a soft aura. I better remember not to anger her ever.

Selene glanced at me then back to her.

"Oh, right!" Selene grabbed a glass of water and poured it on top of Maria, which was the most shocking thing ever.

"Now you can go! It's just payback to what you did to her!"

"H-how d-"

Before Maria could finish, Selene cut her off, "If I were you, I would be going to the toilet instead of standing there. Cause you look like you had just peed yourself with that drenched skirt and floor, or did you really peed because I believe I didn't really splash it on your skirt!"

Maria's face turned bright red while I heard several other students who were watching giggling and gossiping.

"What's going on?" That voice belonged to Solaris. Solaris looked at the scenario, and Raiden was right behind him. Maria began to play the pity card exclaiming that Selene was harassing her while clinging onto Solaris. Maria wanted to get Solaris's attention and be his fiancee to get even more money and fame, which I find disgusting. Raiden approached Selene and asked in a tender tone, "Are you alright? What exactly happened?"

"She was bullying Serena, so I just paid back the favor!" Selene answered

"Oh, I see!" Raiden replied as though he believed her. Seeing as Raiden believed Selene more than Maria, pissing Maria more and angered her.

"You believe in a peasant more than me!!"

"Peasant? Did you call her a 'peasant'?" Solaris and Raiden asked at the same time. I felt immense pressure from them. It was suffocating to breath. It was like a monstrous and angry fox and wolf were coming from Solaris and Raiden. Both were glaring deadly at her. I trembled, even more, feeling immense pressure from Solaris, Raiden, and Selene all at once. I felt like I couldn’t breathe properly. Solaris brushed Maria aside and approached Selene.

"Don't you dare call our dear friend a peasant!" Raiden coldly said

Solaris continued with a stern tone, "I think you're more of a peasant than she is!"

Everyone was surprised. Maria trembled as she tried to grab onto Solaris, saying that she would explain, and begged him to calm down. Before she could hold onto him, Selene grabbed onto her wrist, saying in a cold tone, "Don't touch him! If you didn't realize it, Solaris feels uncomfortable when you touch him! It's clear that he didn't want you to touch him, especially with those wet clothes!"

Maria's face became flustered and embarrassed; she must be feeling humiliated right now. After giving a weak glare, Maria went off alongside her 'friends'. Everyone seemed to go back to mind their own business, probably because they didn't want to anger these three any further. Solaris, Raiden, and Selene's aura became gentle, and the pressure they were giving disappeared. Selene's eyes became soft and calm once again. It was a night and day difference kind of atmosphere.

I grabbed Selene's hand and got up. I was still drenched wet from the water, so I felt cold, not to mention I didn't wear my blazer today. Selene removed her blazer and placed it on my shoulders. She dragged me out of the cafeteria and to the rooftop. Which was supposed to be locked, Selene somehow managed to get the key to open it. It was my first time coming to the roof. I got to say it was a spectacular view and feeling. I hold onto Selene's blazer tightly. Selene was silent for the moment, and she opened her mouth.
