Chapter 23: Chandler, Arizona

“Here’s the plan,” Willis said, waving them in closer. They had reached the mall Landon had suggested a few minutes ago. The buildings looked untouched. The group gathered between the vehicles. Willis leaned against the Camaro, pulling out pieces of paper from his journal, “we’re going to move through the halls together. There’s no telling if anyone else is here or not. That being said, I doubt it’s very likely we’ll be together for long,” looking over at Tucker, “so, we’ll have pairs and lists of things to get for each of us. Tucker and Landon are one. Devin and Clint together, and Dallas will be with me. We can’t take too much so try to stick to the things on the paper, and stay within shouting range,” he passed a paper to Tucker and Devin.

“Why these pairs?” Devin asked, reading the list, “and this list is very detailed.”

“One, the pairs are based on height. Two, if I didn’t then I’d have to answer questions, and I don’t want to do that.”
