Chapter 24: Chandler, Arizona

Midday hit, and the closed in space became uncomfortably warm. Tucker and Devin were sprawled across the two benches in the middle of the hallway on the first floor. Clint took residence in one of the massage chairs, looking through his bag and list.

“We should really keep moving,” Willis stated, looking around every other minute, “we need to be heading for Yuma before nightfall. There are still a couple places we need to find.”

Tucker gazed then covered his eyes with his arm, “I’m not moving.”

Devin and Clint laughed, also not moving. Landon rubbed at the back of his neck, “maybe you could go look for some of your own things. I haven’t seen you go into any of the stores.”

“No, we should stay together,” Willis checked the area again, “and we really don’t have time for this.”

Dallas shifted the two bags he was carrying, “the only things we’ve put in here are water bottles. He may have a point.”
