Chapter 36: Santa Rosa Starlight Facility

The first thing Devin realized when he opened his eyes was the heaviness on top of him. He looked down, seeing Clint half on him, half squished between him and the couch. As much as he wanted to be annoyed, he couldn’t find it in him. Instead he sat up and shimmied out, letting Clint sleep. Devin stood up brushing through his bedhead.

“Good morning.”

He just about jumped out of his skin. Devin spun around to squint in the direction of the hallway. Dallas stood in the doorway waving.

“I could have stabbed you,” Devin mumbled.

“I doubt it.”

“What time is it?”

“About eight.”

“How long have you been awake?”

“A while, now come on. I’ll make some breakfast,” Dallas waited for Devin before walking down the hall towards the kitchen area.

Devin just stared at the back of Dallas’s head, “are you a robot?”

“No.”

“I think you are.”
