Chapter 35: Santa Rosa Starlight Facility

“This is the worst idea I’ve ever willingly participated in,” Clint braced himself against a wall. His lungs burned from his panting, “why are we running? What are we learning from running in circles?”

“It was only a mile,” Devin stood beside him.

“We ran around the building four times.”

“That was a mile.”

“I count the steps. That was not a mile.”

“Two at most.”

Clint glared at him, “I hate you.”

“I know.”

“Why did I get paired with you?”

Two more sets of footsteps rounded the corner. Dallas and Willis came up to them. Both of them were a little sweaty but were fairing pretty well.

“Tucker and Landon?” Devin questioned.

Dallas gestured over his shoulder, “they’re a few minutes behind us,” he looked over at Clint, “are you okay?”

“Fine,” the blond slouched against the wall, sliding down to sit.

Willis grimaced, “you really shouldn’t sit after running. It’ll make you cramp.”

“Shhh… give me this.” They all chuckled softly, waiting for the others.
