Chapter 38: Santa Monica, California

The boat rode into the harbor, stopping at the first available spot. Willis tied it to the deck, stepping onto the shifting floor. They all moved silently through the dark toward the road. Motioning silently for the others to follow. Dallas went first, checking around every corner before moving.

They stopped at the marina office. Willis’s car was in sight from there. It was parked in front of the truck down an alleyway. The idea had been to make it more difficult to steal from them. It didn’t seem to work.

Willis moved to stand behind him, “how many?”

“Three, all men in dark clothes,” Dallas watched two of them lean against the truck. The last one climbing over it to get to the car.

“We could probably take them,” Willis said, peering around Dallas to get a look for himself.
