An Ounce Of Love

They say the darkest hour of the day is just before dawn. It was that day in the lives of Mrityunjay and Shivani. It was the day their love would be tested and would fail.... 


He had come in at 2:30 a.m. in the morning and had found her fast asleep on the couch. She had probably been waiting for him. He gently picked her up, put her on bed and covered the blanket over her. He crept under the sheets, right next to her and let his hand slip under her’s, resting just below the breast line and closed his eyes. 


For some reason, Mrityunjay wanted to be close to Shivani that day. But he also knew that come morning, the day was going to be more hectic. He probably would not get to see her until much later in the day. While Shivani slept, oblivious to his presence, Mrityunjay watched her, a sense of love and anticipation tugging at his heart. Soon, he too drifted off, holding her close to his heart.
