It was a landslide victory for the Swaraj Party. Out of the 288 seats in the Assembly, they had swept 249, which was more than 2/3rd majority. No party had been able to do this in the last twenty years. Although they had expected to win, neither Mrityunjay nor his core team had any idea that the victory was going to be so historic. There were celebrations all over the Swaraj Party office and they even spilled on to the streets. Party members danced in happiness, colours were splashed on all and sundry, sweets were distributed to all the people on the streets and there was an atmosphere of jubilation.
