"A Snake in Your Room"

It had been a long day.

Huang Mei was a little irritated.

She hadn't seen Emperor Sheng all day.

Whenevershe questioned his presence, Sheng Mia or one of the councilors or ministers came and told him that he was dealing with an important matter in the city.

Whatever the important subject, Huang Mei hoped that at least he would have been ashamed to take care of financial matters.

He was running away from her for sure.

Eitherway, it hadn't been a complete waste of time.

Huang Mei noticed that the Imperial Palace had a very quiet and mysterious climate during the day.

The servants worked efficiently, nothing unusual, but when she questioned them about some subjects, they talked it out completely automatically, as if they had trained for it.

However, she could clearly see that they knew something, but the looks of fear made her give up and just leave them alone.

It's not like they can do anything anyway.

For some reason, she was never able to spend much time alone or just with Zheng Xi-Wang, when she was not a servant, Sheng Mia or one of the ministers or counselors showed up.

Sometimes, one of the concubines or the Empress also took her time from her.

What surprised her for not having seen them before, since when Emperor Sheng was not in the palace, they roamed around freely.

Everyone had excuses that this was for reasons of etiquette, they could not leave a princess alone around.

But their insistence on her was very strange, obviously they did not want her to be wandering around freely.

In short, they were watching her all the time.

Huang Mei was more than certain that they knew her true intentions, and if they did not, they suspected it at the very least.

She does not judge, the Country of the South and the Country of the West after Emperor Sheng took possession of the government never had a good relationship.

So his coming from him there was at least curious.

But of course, Huang Mei was a great observer.

Not only did she analyze the behavior of the Palace, but she managed to search the library without raising much suspicion.

And with the help of Zheng Xi-Wang, she was able to manipulate one of the oldest servants in the Palace to provide her with some information.

Huang Mei and Zheng Xi-Wang discovered that three months ago an ambassador from the East Country had been sent to the Country of the West.

A week later, a mysterious person appeared.

The servant said that he had met the Emperor and his meeting of him had been completely confidential, so much so that even he and no other servants were allowed to see his entrance to him, so he did not know what the person was like.

After that, nothing strange happened for a long time, until last week when Emperor Sheng feels an ambassador to the Country of the East and until then he has not returned.

According to the dates of the events, this matched the beginning of the crisis between the Country of the East and the Country of the South.

Huang Mei just needed proof that these meetings were connected to the crisis.

Accusingan Emperor of international calamity was very difficult and dangerous.

It had happened once and it didn't work out.

This time, she would show Sheng Rei's true face.

As for the ambassador who was sent last week, she would not have to worry since spies were also sent to the East Country, so they would certainly be more successful.

Anyway, for a first day, everything was going very well.

Except for the fact of the severe headache that Huang Mei felt all day.

Even after taking some medicines and teas, she was still very strong.

After being able to finally retire to her room that night, Huang Mei took a long shower and relaxed.

The pain was gone for a while and then she decided to sleep to rest.

Maybe it was the trip and all that stress, she wasn’t used to it.

When she lay down on the bed, she realized how exhausted she was.

Her eyes her weighed stagnantly and it didn't take her many seconds to fall asleep ...

Zheng Xi-Wang came out of her bath, accompanied by the servants who dressed her and prepared her for sleep.

She threw herself on the bed after dismissing them all and was feeling relieved to have peace on her own and all that stressful day.

Only a small candle light warmed the room a little and the moon from the window illuminated the dark environment.

She could hear the sound of birds outside.

That night, the snow did not fall.

After lying down for a long time, she let out a happy sigh and stood up, going to the balcony door.

It had been a while since she took the opportunity to practice a little, and the weather was very pleasant.

However, when she approached the door, she saw a large, black figure pass behind the door.

Zheng Xi-Wang did not think twice and invoked her divine weapon.

A two-handed sword with a long, wide red blade and the long base made of ivory.

Who would be crazy at this time of night ?!

The shadow was still standing behind the door, she hid in the corner and remained silent until she was sure that whoever it was she would not have noticed her presence.

She waited for a while to be sure if she was a friend or an enemy.

However, when the door opened, she saw only a large figure and her instinct from her was unconscious.

She spun the sword as fast as it could seem and hit her in the head.

However, she felt the sword suddenly stop and lose strength in her arms to move forward.

The expression she had on her face when she looked at the person in front of her was one of confusion and bewilderment.

Emperor Sheng held the blade of his sword with a bare hand, close to his neck, and made no effort to maintain the strength to count it.

Sheng Rei just gave Zheng Xi-Wang an indifferent corner look.

How did he manage to hold the Lion's Jaw so easily?!

It was not for nothing that Sheng Rei was one of the Divine Specialists of the Ascension of the Second Degree Ethereal Sky.

Zheng Xi-Wang left immediately to prepare for another attack.

It doesn't matter if he is the Emperor, he was certainly not there for good reason.

However, Zheng Xi-Wang did not have time to react.

Sheng Rei drew his sword and with his other hand he punched the air that hurled Zheng Xi-Wang against the wall.

Zheng Xi-Wang slammed his back against the cabinet with all his might of him.

The impact was so great that it broke the furniture and bounced off Zheng Xi-Wang against the floor.

Sheng Rei then turned, throwing the Lion's Jaw to the other side, which then disappeared into pure energy.

Zheng Xi-Wang spit some blood, feeling severe pain in the abdomen.

She didn't even have a chance to get up on her own when Sheng Rei quickly approached grabbing her by her head.

"Argh!"

Zheng Xi-Wang was quite tall, so this was the first time anyone had managed to lift her off the floor, and that was not a good thing.

She could see between his thick and large fingers of Sheng Rei his face staring at her wickedly.

It was as if the red eyes of a snake were staring at it, ready to attack in the dark.

"Tsc." Sheng Rei smirked, "I didn't think you'd be awake at this hour, you really took me by surprise."

"Humpf!" Zheng Xi-Wang furiously grabbed Sheng Rei's arm and spun her around, kicking him off balance, letting go her and wrapping his legs over Sheng Rei's neck, choking him.

That move really surprised him.

He underestimated her.

Eventhough he was cornered, Zheng Xi-Wang was still very skilled and strong.

Now Emperor Sheng had a dagger pointed at him neck.

But Sheng Rei was not scared, he still had a smile on his face, which made Zheng Xi-Wang even more angry.

"What are you laughing at?!" she snarled.

"I underestimated you, I didn't expect you to be so strong."

"Your bad luck!"

"You are not going to kill me."

"Do you think not?" Zheng Xi-Wang forced the blade against Sheng Rei's neck, drawing a small drop of blood.

Sheng Rei looked indifferently.

"If you could, You would have done it already. You can't just kill the Emperor of the West Country."

"A shitty usurper like you doesn't deserve that title!"

Zheng Xi-Wang felt something grab her back from her and a tug.

She was thrown forward and then Sheng Rei held her tight against the wall.

Before she could use the dagger, Sheng held her by both wrists, and squeezed so hard that she screamed and was forced to drop the weapon.

Sheng Rei then pressed her body against Zheng Xi-Wang's body preventing her from moving.

"You should be careful with your words Miss Xiao, don't forget that you are in a political environment, you should think better of your dear Princess, Miss Xiao ... Or rather, I must say Princess Zheng."

Zheng Xi-Wang's eyes widened.

"At..."

"Do you think I wouldn’t discover her identity? Or what did you come here to do?"

Sheng Rei then approached Zheng Xi-Wang's face, and she smelled his strong woody smell from her and the hot halite against her ear.

"I still remember your young face well, princess."

"You are disgusting! I can still finish you!"

"Finish me off? You have no proof of anything, but I know things that you certainly don't want to go public, do you?"

Zheng Xi-Wang a sudden rage.

"You son of a ... Argh!" Again Zheng Xi-Wang felt the pressure against his wrists.

"You should learn to be quieter."

"I hate you!"

"Really? So it won't make a difference, why didn't I come here to seek your forgiveness."

Suddenly someone knocked on the bedroom door.

Sheng Rei however did not back down.

Even seeing only one silhouette, he seemed to know who it was and sighed a little irritated.

"What's it?"

"My lord, the Minister of the East has returned and requests your presence immediately." The voice to what appeared to be one of the servants spoke from behind the door.

"Excellent." Sheng Rei then stepped back. "Tell him I'm on my way."

The shadow bowed and then disappeared.

Sheng Rei then pulled Zheng Xi-Wang by squeezing her neck.

"I will look after you at another time."

Zheng Xi-Wang took advantage that Sheng Rei was a little distracted and summoned another dagger.

Sheng Rei stepped back in time, receiving only a small cut on her cheek.

"One." He looked a little annoyed at Zheng Xi-Wang, who maintained a defensive position.

Sheng Rei's eyes then flashed red, and strong pressure arose.

Zheng Xi-Wang fell to the floor feeling that huge negative energy that circulated Sheng Rei.

Even with a strong murderous intent, Zheng Xi-Wang did not appear to be intimidated.

But Emperor Sheng did not dare to attack, he had more important things at that time.

He just gave a slight smile looking at Zheng Xi-Wang.

"You are very brave." Then he turned away and left.

Zheng Xi-Wang was only able to move again when Sheng Rei was no longer present in that area.

Now he was a long way away.

When she got up, Zheng Xi-Wang felt his body in her tremble and weaken.

The redhead clenched her teeth and clenched her fists.

She was still too weak to kill him.
