Chapter 16 a Happy Reunion

They dropped Iggy, board and all, on top of a steel countertop. Pater tore off his helmet and set it down on top of Iggy’s legs as if he were the table. Pater studied Iggy for a moment, acknowledging to himself that the young man was extremely ill, but even so, he looked so similar to Firmin that he was unmistakingly his son. Soon though, Pater couldn’t cut his glance short, and he found himself staring back and forth awkwardly at the two.

Iggy peered back at Pater, also. Reality must have really been bent, because Pater appeared more familiar to him than Firmin did! The gold of his skin tone, hair, and eyes was astoundingly similar to Nansen’s. Iggy would’ve done anything to have Nansen there with him. Anything. And because he was so desperate and longing for it, he fooled himself into believing that there was some sort of security with Pater there, instead.

“You look like Nansen,” Iggy confessed. “My brother, Nansen. Do you know him?”
