Chapter 20 c Phantom's Wing

“Wow,” their voice was deep, “you’re awake already. Are you feeling better?”

Iggy lifted his hand up to his head and shook it side to side; not as an answer but as a sobering gesture to help figure out what the hell was happening. He could see what was before him, but the thought of knowing exactly where Becca was, was far more pressuring than anything else. He figured, since she wasn’t there, then she must be somewhere, and he needed to find her himself.

The soreness in his body was unbearable as he sat and worse when he moved. He slipped his legs out from under the covers, tripped over his own feet, and fell onto the floor. He snagged the blanket that was high above his head now, and pulled himself up into a crooked stand, oblivious that his fingers were working again. He shuffled toward the door.

“Where are you going?” the person laughed. “You’re still very sick, didn’t you already learn your lesson?”
