Chapter 21 c Misfits

Iggy looked more and more like Halina as he grew healthier. He was unbelievably attractive, even another heterosexual man would've said so, and his attitude was cold and avoidant, just like hers, too.

While he stared, Firmin’s chest warmed with pride and he finally, for the first time, believed that making Iggy wasn’t a mistake. But now, Firmin just had to fill in the holes that remained empty from his orphan upbringing. Oh, how he hated Baine for what he had done. Stealing his child. Raising him inadequately. Throwing him into a pit of danger and destruction in which he had suffered worse than anyone else Firmin had ever known. Locking Baine away wasn’t enough to punish him. Decapitation would’ve been too easy on him, too. He should’ve let him stay dead back on that operating table.
